I was stopped at an intersection waiting on traffic. Finally got a small gap and hit the accelerator to proceed into the middle of the intersection, it clattered, then hesitated and would not go. After about 3 seconds, which felt like eternity when you cars coming towards you on both sides, it finally went. No accident, but way too close for my comfort. I've had this car at the dealership four different times for this same problem. They have reprogrammed the transmission every time but it still does the same thing. About four weeks ago I was on the highway and the car lost complete power, acted as if it were in neutral. I have filed a complaint with Ford but they say it is within their tolerance. I bought this car for my daughter but I am afraid to let her drive without me. When I finally have to give this car to my sixteen year old daughter, and she loses her life because of this transmission, is will not be tolerable.

-while driving my car I noticed a grinding sound in the transmission as I tried to accelerate when I pulled off. Not only did I hear a grinding sound, the car also started jerking as if it was going to stall out. I returned the vehicle to the dealer where I purchased the car. They said that the drove it and couldn't find anything wrong. My car was returned and I continued to drive it even though I was not pleased with the results. It was my belief that I was ignored because I was a female. After continued grinding and stalling becoming worse especially when I would pull out in traffic I again took the car to the dealer and the kept the vehicle for several days and gave me a loaner car which consequently was the same car that I had and the loaner car sounded just as bad as my car. When I picked my car up they mechanic said that the sound I was hearing was normal for the type of transmission that I had which was a high performance transmission and that's how the clutch worked. The third time I took the car in was on 4-19-2014 after I was almost hit by a car after going into traffic and the car began to sputter repeatedly for 10-15 seconds. The salesman said that there was nothing that the could do because that is how the car runs and it meets all federal guidelines. I am concerned that it shouldn't take someone losing their life for this situation to be resolved. I feel that this needs to be investigated before it truly becomes a deadly matter.

I purchased my 2013 Ford Fiesta from a dealership in may of 2013, in October of 2013, my not even 6 month old car, started to make grinding and crunching noises in the engine and the transmission was slipping. I called the dealership and took it in. They replaced the transmission and after 8 weeks, I picked it up. The noises were gone, but quickly came back a couple months later, I kept getting told it was normal, but it has gotten worse. I am trying to work with my dealership now to quickly get this resolved. I am also only getting 25 mpg.

Bought my Fiesta new off of the lot in 2013. Transmission has always been loud. Called service center to report and was told that was normal for the type of transmission I had. Starting at about 15000 miles, car started to hesitate when trying to go into 1st gear. Also car sputters if trying to pick up speed for passing.

I pulled into a parking space, immediately put the car in reverse, still had my foot on the brake, started to move my foot to step on the gas and the car lurched forward. The lurch was strong enough to go over a speed bump. I was able to stop the car (it had gone approximately 10 feet). I put the car into drive and was able to drive forward out of the area. It started to do the same thing again yesterday but I was prepared for it and slammed down on the brake stopping it. Reverse is a long way from drive so I am not sure what is happening. I had the car into the dealer where I bought the car earlier because of the loud grinding noise coming from the front left side, first they told me it was a cable then they told me it was the transmission and nothing to worry about, that the noise was normal. Also the car rolls back on even the slightest incline and you have to keep your foot on the brake or you will hit the car behind you. The transmission does not seem to be operating correctly, slipping or something. I now have a note in the car and whenever I put it into reverse I am monitoring it because I would like to know exactly what is happening and at what point. It happened so quickly the first time that I was more in shock than anything else and just relieved that I was able to stop it and that it caused no damage to anyone or anything, even the car itself.

Bought a 2013 Ford Fiesta brand new and I have had nothing but issues with it. It feels like something is getting caught when I try to accelerate and then when it does accelerate it jerks, and grinds and all sorts of other noises. When I am in stop-go traffic it feels like it is bouncing up and down and at points I am being jerked in my seat along with the car. Going up a hill is the worst of all because it makes noises and sounds/feels like it is going to stall- sometimes just trying to get up a hill feels like I am trying to drive through thick mud. I have taken it back to Ford several times and they tell me it is nothing. One time the lady who was scheduling the appointment told me that her car does it but it is normal and something that you have to get used to because of the transmission. When I get my sheet back after I have had it in the shop they barely and vaguely acknowledge how they checked the problem and state they couldn't find anything. There is no way that it is normal to be apprehensive when driving your brand new car because you are not sure that you are going to be able to accelerate in time to pull out into traffic.

Took my car in beginning of Feb 2014 that is when they would have a car for me. They ended up replacing the clutch in transmission.. days later it started making the grinding rubbing noise on my way to rich's auto for them to check my car. They test drove my car definitely making noise as car is shifting, I left there went to the store the noise was so loud that I felt lucky to get home. Ford co service rep for my area makes an appt for a week later. Barely heard the noise on my way there but the car now hesitates to accelerate while driving to pass slower cars. Got to 6-8 rpms and advance 1 mph in 5-10 sec. The dealership service dept. Could find anything wrong everything is within the limits by Ford standard. I do not feel safe driving my car and have requested a return. The worse mistake I made was purchasing the car.

I own a 2013 Ford Fiesta. We bought it new off the lot. A month after purchase the vehicle's transmission started to sputter and fail to shift into gear. Several times it was a little nerve racking and unsafe because the vehicle would fail to accelerate in a timely manner. This is a big problem when you try to merge with traffic or pass another vehicle, or even travel through an intersection. We have taken the vehicle to Ford 4 different times to get fixed and nothing seems to work, it just gets worse. Now the vehicle shakes when the transmission tries to shift, my wife had to pull over and stop on the freeway because the vehicle would not shift into a gear. She almost got hit by another vehicle.

When changing lanes, which required me to accelerate while merging into faster-moving traffic, the car's transmission made a lot of noise and the RPM's were high, but the car did not accelerate (this occurred twice in one day). Oncoming traffic came close to hitting me, and it was frightening.
