Fiesta 4-cyl

  • 2,680 miles
Two problems: 1) when trying to accelerate gently from a stop (as in a 4-way stop situation) the vehicle engages violently and surges forward. I have to react quickly in this situation and slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the car in front of me. 2) when trying to accelerate to merge into traffic, the car revs (transmission makes a lot of noise) but does not accelerate. I have had dangerous situations when I could not accelerate and cars were coming up on me quickly.

On March 30 I bought a brand new car 2013 Ford Fiesta, the car started making grinding noise the second day upon takeoff from a stop, and also when shifting at slower speeds. I took the car to the dealer only one week after the purchase. They told me that the noises were normal. One month after I heard the grinding noises more frequently at first and second gear, rough grinding, I took the car back to the dealer for some days, after this, they told me some noises are normal and gave me an explanation letter from Ford, the characteristics they talk about are different from the ones I heard, but they told me I should wait until 5K miles. After 6400 miles, I took the car back again explaining that the car is making louder noises not only from 5 to 15mph but I also heard the sound even at 60mph, the car shakes from time to time during the louder noises and this noises sounds different every day, different sounds for the same shift, and now, this sounds are longer, from 3 seconds up to 50 second or more, this is not a shift. I have read the letter from Ford and they say a slight grinding noise, that is not the description for a sound which last more than 30 sec (distance more than 1500 feet with a grinding noises). I also explain that, I drove a Fiesta with only 6 miles, same year, transmission and temperature but different sounds. This one made a light grinding noise just as the Ford letter describes. Their response, the noises can be different from car to car'. but the diagnostic tips' from Ford's letter says; the car has to be compared with a likely vehicle, in order to determine if the noises are normal or not'. I believe the Ford Fiesta doesn't have the same quality. After checking the car by the 3rd time and loaded an upgrade for the software, they told me that everything is normal, but to date, this upgrade didn't work at all.

After a long battle with the dealership over a previous death trap[used] the owner agreed to rectify that issue with a brand new 2013 Ford Fiesta.that was a great thought till the first engine light coming on, they found no reason except the gas tank has no cap.I was told this is dirt around the seal and it will keep happening unless I buy my own cap. Well it wasn't long and my car started spitting missing hesitating, engine light comes back on I take it back in they believe there is a pinhole in my gas line.they keep my car for a week they did supply a loaner not a Fiesta !!!! I told them of the issues but they found nothing.now a couple weeks ago I took it back for these issues I had pointed out to them previously.I had the service person ride along he felt aa of the issues heard all of the sounds the grinding, revving.I am so afraid in this car getting on and off ramps it doesn't pick up speed it almost sounds like the gears are reversing.I cannot pass anyone, I live in a highly traveled area for tourists who don't drive the same as locals on single lane roads.a brand new car isnt suppose to make you feel that you were better off not having a car. Ford should be ashamed...you dont take shortcuts or rush a product that can badly affect hundreds of thousands of people. I want out of my contract I owe more than this car is worth, I do blame the dealer also for continuing to sell this death trap. Just saying enough people are having the same issues and if anyone who has made this complaint ends up in an accident due to these obvious issues that have been brought to the attention of Ford, dealerships and the national safety board I hope these families sue your pants off. Forcing you out of business.unless you rectify each persons individual situation and not a generac brushoff.been there done that.get on the ball and fix this problem now!

With a new 2013 Fiesta the trans started making grinding noise at slower speeds with a light foot. First and second gear would be very rough grinding and slow to move. Took the car in and they tried to tell me some noise is normal, so I made the service adviser drive it. Well they had it for 6 weeks to rebuild the trans. 3 weeks later the noise was back. Ford did a reprogram on the computer. This went on for 3 months of them telling me the noise is normal. I finally bugged them enough that they took the trans apart and found that the gears were charred and had lots of play in them. So after another 4 weeks in the shop they replaced it in Oct '13 a week after the replacement the car still hesitates when starting to move from a stop. Ford's people are still saying its "normal" car had 8000 miles when trans was replaced.

Have owned this car for a year. Past few months having lots of difficulty going from stop to 1st gear. Hesitates, shakes, makes grinding and scary noises when shifting. Was driving up a hill and the car would not shift in a low gear which was the reason for getting it in to the dealer in a hurry. The car is dangerous, it hesitates. It is scary to pull out in traffic and not have the car go when it should. Now my car is sitting at the Ford dealer for almost 3 weeks and they cannot get the parts to repair the transmission. They cannot give me a date as to when my car will be fixed. I have lost all confidence in the car, I want my money back. The car scares me and I don't want to drive it anymore.

I am experiencing issues with my 2013 Ford Fiesta SE. I have noticed that between speeds of 5 and above that there is a crunching noise coming from the engine. The car also lunges when shifting or slowing down making it harder to stop. I have called Ford's consumer care hotline and was told this is a normal trait for the vehicle, but when I explained that when I test drove the car, it did not do any of this. The car now has 1300 miles on it and it seems that the crunching, lunging and hesitation is getting worse. I feel like I have been ripped off by Ford Motor Company for not being advised of this issue before hand. I put my trust in Ford and evidently that was the wrong thing to do.

When I took my car in for an oil change they said my oil was leaking so I took it into a Ford dealership. The dealership put some dye in my engine fluid and told me to bring it back after I drove another 500 miles. When I brought it back in they said my transmission had a leak. While driving it for the past few months I've also noticed it sputtering when I accelerate. This has seemed to worsen since taking it in as well. My car is constantly stalling when I make left turns or start going after being stopped or slowing down. I am very concerned and scared that while I am driving with my 3 year old in the backseat it will stall just a little too long and cause an accident harming him. There have been some close calls already and I am not happy to discover many people are having this problem with the 2013 Ford Fiestas. This car is not safe for anyone to drive.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph, the vehicle began to slip gears in a jerking motion. The failure recurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who informed the contact that the failure was contributed to the transmission. The parts that were replaced consisted of both snap rings, rear splendor plate and nuts. The failure continued after the repair was performed. The vehicle was not further repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 2,000.

Was at a complete stop. Went to step on gas to turn right and the car would not go above 7 mph for about 8 seconds, then it shifted hard into second gear and sped down the street. I completed 4 more turns around the block of my housing track and at all 4 it did the same thing until I reached my driveway and had it towed to a dealer.

Going up a steep hill in morning rush hour bumper to bumper. My car stall, stopped and the automatic transmission would not engage. This caused me to graze the bumper of the car next to me and put a few very small scratches on the rear left side of the car. No accident report needed. The damage was so minor it was only visible at a close look. Polish seem to cover it. My car would not start moving until cars a head of me gave me enough safe space to push hard on the accelerator and get the automatic transmission to kick in.this could have caused an accident. Not life threatening but someone could have seriously been hurt.

While at a stop on a freeway entrance ramp I saw an opening and gently stepped on the gas. I should have had easy entrance to the freeway but my car transmission would not start the car moving until I stepped on the excellrator to the floor. The on coming car coming behind me had to make a very dangerous lane change to keep from slamming into the back of the car. There was no damage to either car and the car behind continued.

June 2013, Ford Fiesta 2013 (bought new Oct 2012) began to shudder upon takeoff from a stop and also when shifting between 1st and 2nd gear. Took car to dealership on July 18, 2013; they performed a software update and said (at that time) if that didn't work the clutch would have to be replaced. Took car back on September 4, 2013. Took mechanic out but traffic was heavy and I couldn't reproduce the exact issue. However, problems listed above still persist, and an additional issue of power loss when turning the corner at speeds of 10 mph or less has developed.

I bought a 2013 Ford Fiesta in March. After driving it for about a week or two I noticed a rattling noise and some jerking when the car shifts gears. I took it to montebello Ford where I bought the car and they told me that was normal and because of the transmission it uses. I didn't believe them so I took it to another dealership in alhambra and they told me they couldn't find a problem. I recently took it in for a oil leak problem and ask if they could check the transmission again. They acknowledged that there was a problem this time and said they did a update to the system and some adjustments to fix the transmission, but after that the problem got even worse. It jerks even more now. ( it jerks so much in traffic I feel like I'm getting car sick) I plan to take it back next week but I would like to report this problem to someone so hopefully they can do a recall or something and get this problem fixed.

I've experienced my new Ford Fiesta 2013 shuddering, shaking, and chugging. Especially when I'm on a hill stopped and I try to accelerate. I have an automatic and it acts like a manual transmission. When I attempted to accelerate on the hill after stopping, the vehicle almost shut down completely. I brought my vehicle to the dealership which I purchased it from on two different occasions. Both times, the service advisor and the service manager informed me that the vehicle is performing as it should and there are no problems. I can't rely on the vehicle to accelerate as it should. Many times I've been afraid of my safety to merge into traffic because I know it won't perform.
