The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. While driving 60 mph on the freeway, the contact felt an explosion and the vehicle stalled. It was unknown if any warning indicators were illuminated besides the air bag indicator, which was already illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to Ford of orange (1350 w. katella avenue, orange, ca 92867, 888-697-3989) where it was diagnosed that the transmission was damaged. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 99,000.

The transmission shifts unevenly in lower gears and causes the car to shudder with slowed acceleration, this happens every use. Sometimes, the car will not accelerate and it slips into neutral while driving, upon pressing the gas pedal the engine revs but the car will not move. This can happen at anytime without warning. The only way to correct this is to put the car in park and restart the engine. I brought this to the attention of a local Ford dealership, they performed maintenance to the transmission, but this did not remedy the problem.

A month after purchase when pushing on the gas the car would not move sometimes while other times it would accelerate on its own. Was taken back to wayne akers Ford where we purchased and told that it was a transmission issue that could not be fixed until the transmission was completely non functioning. Have continued to have issues since. Then I brought it to al packer Ford West and was told that there was nothing they could do as the sudden acceleration or no acceleration was a known issue with the transmission that they could not do anything about. I was informed that the warranty was extended for the issues but I would have to wait until the transmission met Ford's definition of defect or defunct. My 17yr old son drives this car and it is not safe.

Ford Fiesta transmission. I have been a long standing Ford customer and have tried to stand bye the company but I can no longer be silent regarding my experience with the transmission in this car. I have had the car repeatability repaired, the car has put me at risk multiple times, Ford has not been truthful with me along the way. I have communicated directly to Ford my concerns and they have left me with a car that is unsafe, unreliable nor should I try to dump on some unsuspecting person. The company, court system and the federal government needs to work together to get people out of these cars asap. This is wrong and everyone knows it but nothing is being done, if this information needs to go to another federal Agency, please share this with them. This car has been a defective safety hazard since day one since I bought it, 8/22/13 and it has nor will it ever be right. Please get involved with this systematic safety failure.

Transmission constantly slips. Transmission surges and stalls daily. The transmission actually completely went out 2 days after purchase and was replaced - the transmission never worked properly. This car was in for service on 4 occasions and left service with the same or worse symptoms. Earnhardt Ford in chandler, AZ stated it was fixed each time and pretended they did not feel the slips, surges and stalls when test drove with me after service each time. I was told there was nothing more they were going to do. * do not have service dates with me at this time - the date in "when did this happen" is a guesstimate of the time around servicing.

Multiple issue's with my Ford Fiesta (2013) transmission. Have taken it to the Ford dealer to get the tcm re-programmed about 3 times and had it replaced twice. Taken it back for the shuttering issue.car would stall after moving forward from a complete stop. Have had the clutches replaced in it. Took it back again on July 5th 2019 for an issue with it slamming into reverse. Was told it was ready about a week later on July 11th. After paying $60, the service guy tells me it will not go into drive after looking into the issue. I keep calling and keep getting told that they are waiting for a tool to come in to try and get into drive. Today is July 24th 2019 and still no car.

Started the car on one hot and humid day and, while waiting for my wife and aunt at a driveway and without touching the gear shifter, I saw the gear display momentarily jumped from park to neutral and then back to park on the display panel. It happened a few times and I thought that was odd. The car had already undergone three transmission overhauls before the extended warranty ended so I was familiar with the transmission problems that plagued the car, from grinding gears to shuddering and slow shifting in low speed or at an incline, all I had experienced before. But the slipping gear was new. I didn't think much about it at first and drove off when my wife and aunt got on. At the second stop sign, the gear slipped moment after I accelerated following the stop. There was no warning at all ' no abnormal sound, no warning message, no engine light on or blinking. The engine revved up and there was no more power to the wheels. Only then did I notice the gear display showed the car was in neutral, but the gear shifter was still in drive. Fortunately, there were no other cars around us. I immediately tried moving the gear shifter but it was stuck in drive while the gear was in neutral. I stopped the car and tried again, to no avail. I then turned off the car and was able to move the shifter into park. I turned the car back on and was able to move the shifter into drive, and the gear cooperated. I turned around and got back to home safely. I had coped with all of the earlier transmission problems with this car, the trouble of going to the dealership repeatedly, and even adjusted my driving habit with the unique temperament of this car. However, with the gear slipping from drive without any forewarning, I did not feel safe to drive this car anymore. We thought about what would have happened if the gear had slipped while we were driving on the freeway.

Since I bought this car in 2012 it has had problems with the transmission every time I took it to Ford they would tell me nothing was wrong with it or that it was something I did. I took it back in a few years ago and it seems like the problem was fixed but it started back up shortly after. So I just stopped complaining about it since it seems it's a wild goose chance. Also my stereo has completely cut out and I've had it checked and my mechanic can't seem to find a anything wrong with or why it has cut out and it's been a year I still have yet to figure out the problem.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The contact had to turn off and restart the engine in order for the vehicle to operate. In addition, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was initially taken to rokstad Ford Mercury (476600 us-95, ponderay, id 83852, (208) 263-3127) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated and no failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 159,183.

07I have had many instances of hesitation, surges, bucks, jerks on acceleration. Got error message "getting hot, pull over and shut car off". on long trip transmission overtemp light came on, when driving at 40-50 mph it would go out of gear an slow down to about 20 mph then it would go back into gear and speed up again. Clutch adaptive needed to perform a relearn. Shifts rough or jerky while driving, shuddering when accelerating from a stop.

I had to have the transmission replaced after owning the car a few months. At only 30K miles. Thank god it was still under warranty. However, since then, the car has continued to malfunction. I have not taken it into a dealer since because of the other comments and complaints I have seen regarding this car. The car continues to jerk forward when moving from a stop. The car constantly shudders when driving. The car hesitates when accelerating. I even had to pull the fuse out for the radio because the speakers would constantly pop, even with the radio off. I truly believe there is an issue even with new transmissions in this car. If the transmission is replaced, the same problems should not continue. I do not have the time nor the money to keep fixing something that is not fixable. I will continue to drive a car that I feel unsafe in until I cannot anymore. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. On the "when did this happen" field, I put today's date because it happens every day.

Tamara recall...I am not sure of the year of the Fiesta, but I rented it several years ago at lax and noticed to my alarm that it was having trouble shifting as I drove through manhattan beach. Finally, it just plain died out and I coasted it into a parking lot and had the rental guy come and give me another car and ride the pitiful Fiesta back to the airport, assuredly in the tow truck. It was the most pitiful performance I have ever experienced from a rental and ruined my opinion of the Agency who rented it.

Many dangerous instances when the car wouldn't accelerate, jerks, lurches when "accelerating". had the car in for "repairs" well over 10 times and it is not fixed. I cannot afford another car and these problems have been going on for years. Shouldn't have to feel like my life is at risk every time I am driving to and from work.. I have to make decisions when driving with the consideration that the car may not accelerate due to know transmission issues. Many times on the highway when in a dangerous situation I could not accelerate to get out of the situation. Lucky I haven't been injured due to these known faulty transmissions that executives at Ford released anyway.. when turning, 99% of the time there is no acceleration whatsoever until the car straightens out. Lurching, lunging uncontrollablly and constantly. Very dangerous when putting the foot on the accelerator and all that happens is the car revs up. Lurching, lunging, bumping, grinding. Fords explanation is that it is a hybrid auto/manual transmission and people that own this type of transmission are not used to it. No. I have owned many manual transmissions. The design is faulty and they should be take responsibility for putting profits over the safety of their customers.
