Multiply safety recalls and I took to 2 different dealerships, but dealerships refused to do or to fix my car. Now my check engine light is on again. Code reader has 2 codes 1450 and 144A. Needs to be repaired, but dealership filed a false report stating the recalls were already done. It is not the case. The only recall that was done was for the door latches. The purse valve and fuel sensors still need to be fixed.

While in motion, engine light illuminated which was diagnosed as a failing catalytic converter - possibly due to contamination. Ford Focus had received an evap purge valve related recall just a few days earlier which still needed to be completed. The recall replaced components as per guidance but did not do anything about the catalytic converter which likely failed as a result of a failure linked to the prior recall (evap purge valve). Many similar cases are to be found in forums online.

I bought a 2014 Ford Focus back in June of 2018. I had to have the transmission fixed a few days later due to an open recall. After that I had no issues. October 2018 I found out about the most recent recall with the cpv and such. Since then, my car has not run good. It jerks, acts like it doesn't want to go, and my fuel reading is almost always wrong. I have two young children and am scared to drive my car. When I call my local dealership they tell me there's is no remedy available yet and to just keep it at under half a tank of gas. Which is stupid since I can't get an accurate fuel reading! I can fill it completely full, drive one mile, then suddenly be on 3/4 tank. That's is ridiculous.

Takata recall.engine stalls w/O notice, inside cab reeks of gas smell. Ford remedy is to keep gas tank 1/2 full. Doesn't work. Just filled up and still stalled while entering into the freeway. I did not use cheap fuel. Very dangerous and the remedy does not work. Took car to dealership twice now and they confirmed it's 1 of 10 Focus on the recall. In other words 10% of their Focus have this recall and symptoms. I called Ford Corp and they gave me 2 options, 1)drive car with 1/2 tank or more 2) don't drive it at all. I need it for work #2 is not an option. Ford will not give a loaner car even I told them their remedy is not working and can cause bodily injury or even death.

Started in 2015 transmission shuddered/vibrated/hesitation on highway, lack of power, car would jerk like I had been it on highway, onboard computer was re programed in October of 15 and again in Jan of 17. Car is not storing computer codes when it acts up. On 7/17/18 the check engine light comes on I called dealer got an appointment for 7/17/18, check engine light had gone off before the dealer saw the car, and the on board computer did not store a code for them to figure it out. When I left the dealer I did not get a block when the check engine light came back on and the car started jerking, I pulled into a parking lot to turn around and go back to the dealer however the car would not go into reverse, I tried a half dozen time to back up including turning off the engine. The car next to me left and I was able to make a U turn, by the time I got back to the dealer they were closed. I brought the car back the next morning they were able to retrieve to code and replace the transmission control module. In August of 18 one day leaving the gas station when I put the car into drive all it did was rev the engine another time when I backed out of my parking place and tried to drive away it would not go into drive. This happened again in December. Lately I have a problem where the engine will rev up while driving on the highway, it usually is only for a few seconds. The RPM's would double when this happened. On 12/7/18 this happened again, however I had to take my foot of the accelerator in order for the engine to stop the revving. The revving of the engine is not on specific dates, however happens once or twice a week usually on the highway.

Our well maintained 4 year old Fusion with 1.6L ecoboost, started making noise, engine completely died while driving on city street, smoke came pouring out. Ford determined crack in engine by cylinder head to be the cause. Ford informed us our vehicle was not involved in a recall, and over warranty miles (80K). We have researched and learned of the 1.6L ecoboost engine recalls because of risk of cracked cylinder head/engine. Our local sm told us Ford was likely to cover all but $700 of the repair, then the next day informed us Ford would only agree to pay 1400 toward new engine, with us responsible for the remaining cost. Ford refused covering our rental. We have been without the vehicle for nearly 3 weeks now
