The transmission shudders and vibrates while changing gears, also hesitates while changing gears, makes chattering noises while changing gears and is slow to accelerate at times. Ford has already changed the clutch and it seemed to solve the problem, however it is now doing the same thing.

This does not occur at highway speeds, or during acceleration when the car is already in motion and at normal driving speeds (35-40mph). At time of purchase, I was told the 2017 models did not have the dps6 unit. After a previous incident, it was taken to john bleakley Ford in lithia springs ga (now known as lithia springs Ford, and the dealer from which the vehicle was purchased), where the service advisor noted that the transmission was indeed exhibiting similar behavior, but for a different reason. The repair lasted a few months before starting again a few months ago. I believe I have a vehicle that has a dps6, or that this redesigned transmission has a near-identical design fault to the dps6, and thus the vehicle should be recalled or deemed defective.

Car has 75,000 miles. Bought brand new. I commute to work which is 120 mile round trip. My house is about 1 mile from the interstate. After about 20,000 miles I would notice some hesitation when the vehicle would shift from 1st gear to second gear. This would only be after my commute and going from the stop at the end of the exit. After my exits both from work and home the vehicle would only need to shift once from 1st to second gear until I would arrive to my destination. Recently within the last 15,000 miles it's noticeably worse. Now I have transmission fluid sitting in my driveway. I will be getting an oil change at the dealership soon and will say something about it.

The transmission suffers from a major shudder and drop in power between 1st and 2nd gear, just like the previous Focus issues. There is a terrible up-shift delay, and a downshift drop and jerk. There is a loss of power consistently, when driving, especially when warm. The Ford dealer refuses to admit there are any problems with the vehicle and refuses to honor the warranty and rebuild/replace the transmission. The vehicle drops power when sitting at a stop light, when starting motion, there is a grinding and major grumble as if the transmission/engine is going to fall out of the car. The Ford dealer keeps saying there is not a problem and refuses to address the issues, just like they did with the previous Focus.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the transmission was malfunctioning and the vehicle shuddered and shook when accelerating from braking or stopping. Mcfarland Ford sales Inc. (151 portsmouth ave, exeter, nh 03833, (603) 772-5953) performed several road tests and could not duplicate the failure. The dealer stated that the vehicle performed under the parameters of what was acceptable to the manufacturer. The manufacturer only confirmed that there were no recalls and referred the contact to NHTSA. The dealer offered to repair the vehicle under the power train warranty, but would not extend the warranty to 80,000 miles if a recall was issued. The current warranty was for 60,000 miles. The contact expressed concern of whether she could trust the dealer. The failure mileage was 17,000.

While I'm driving on freeway or regular highway the car just dies out for no apparent reason almost got into a bad wreck because of it had to coast it off the road out of way from traffic so I wouldn't get hit it's done this more then once took it in and they reset the computer it was ok for 2 days then did the exact same thing just died while I was driving on the highway the whole car turned off so had to put in park and then start took a few times to start then finally started and left but this keeps happening definitely not good for vehicle that only has 44 thousand miles on it.

Transmission gears are rough, slipping, jerks a little and transmission overheats and can't drive. Looses power when driving. There is a recall for this vehicle but I was told only the cars that in a manufactured area or a group are in recall. Makes no sense because we have the exact same car that is being recalled and we weren't in that group or manufactured area so our vehicle won't be repaired. Something is seriously wrong with this whole issue. It's the same problem as the ones in group that are being recalled. Why isn't our car being recalled, it's a safety issue also... this seams very wrong. Our car is only two years old and we don't have that kind of money to fix on our own...

2017 Ford Focus titanium. Dallas, tx. Engine misses when accelerating. While driving down a 2 lane farm to market road which I drive twice a day at the least- the car started slowing down and it was as if the gas pedal wasn't working. And of course the engine light came on. Took it to get electronically diagnosed and it is a valve for the gas. I haven't received any recall notices via mail. I need this taken care of before time for the inspection in a month. How do I go about seeing if this is in fact a recall and get it fixed asap??

I bought a brand new 2017 Ford Focus and within a year of having the vehicle it began to shutter when accelerating from a stopped position. Took it to the dealership they said there was not a big enough problem to fix. A few months later in addition to the sputtering while taking off from being stopped the transmission now shutters when I reach speeds of 50-65. I know I'm not the only one with this problem. Ford is putting out a garbage product and refusing to fix the problem.

Purchased 9/2018.care has been shaking likes its going to fall apart ever since then.. I have a manual transmission and car grunts when picking up speed like I have a clutch shift and makes this scratching noise when I shift from park to reverse. Or reverse to drive. Also when I barely tap the breaks its stop so suddenly the jilt forces me forward.. today 9/13/19 the transmission fault message came on. And went off. Then when I start the car back up to check systems.. the message system says all systems normal and the light didnt come back on after driving it around, shift from reverse to drive, and shutting of and starting up car 3 different times.

When stopped at a stop light the vehicle has a jolting similar to dropping the clutch in a manual transmission. When shifting from 1-2 there is a loud grinding (really bad) and noticable shimmy in the vehicle accompanied by a loss of power and a sudden jump when the clutch catches. There is a common loss of power when coming from a stop. These symptoms are even more common when the vehicle has warmed up and driven for more than 10 minutes.

My car is the the 2017 Focus has a new design but the same dual clutch 'automatic' transmission system as previous year models.... however, where the Focus is manufactured does not excuse the fact that Ford has known about the transmission problem for years and has continued to ignore the problem. This happens only when driving.

Transmission shudders effecting acceleration and makes grinding noises. Sometimes the car will lurch coward upon acceleration. I've had the manual transmission assembly and manual transmission clutch pressure plate replaced three times. Transmission is beginning to shudder again. Contacted Ford August 15 and they keep saying that someone will call within 24 hours. I've contacted them daily and they keep saying someone will call the following day. Six days later and still no response. Keep getting the same store that they updated my case number and someone will call us within 24 hours.

Transmission slips. At time when driving, it slips and the RPM's rev up to 5-6 and the car has no power. It lasts for 3-4 seconds and sounds like the car is in neutral and gas peddle pushed to the floor. It does this off and on every time I drive it. Started around the 9,000 miles mark. My car is a 2017 Ford Focus with 11,800 miles on it.

The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer. The failure mileage was 15,000. Consumer states that vehicle shudders at takeoff. Manufacturer was contacted but told consumer that vehicle was not included in recall.

While driving the car, 4 days after having the 2nd clutch replacement at 30,000 miles, it was on a street not highway, the cars electronic dash displayed "transmission fault fix now". the car then slowed down a bit losing power, then several other signals appeared on screen, brakes and a few others, then the engine shut down and power went out. The car would not restart after a few minutes, so aaa called to tow it back to dealership. This happened Sunday July 28, 2019. Monday afternoon, after they had time to look at vehicle, I received a call telling me that the "alternator " was faulty and they would get back to me when they had the replacement which turned out to be the next day. The issue with this is my wife had been 110 miles away and had drove home Saturday July 27. If that had let go while she was traveling the 70 mph speed limit there could have been a fatal accident. This vehicle has been in and out of Ford dealership 5-6 times for safety related issues

When accelerating from a stop, the car often struggles to get up to speed. It will also shudder and shake while doing this. Intermittently shifting into reverse will yield no results and I will have to place the car in park, and try again which sometimes fixes the issue. Car will also lunge forward from a stop with very little accelerator press and other times will lag and have lack of acceleration despite "flooring it". while turning and accelerating from a stop, it feels as if the car can't decide what gear to be in and will provide far more power than is necessary.

Car shudders anytime I excelerate from a stop. Also looses poser in the middle of taking off from a complete stup...the shudder is terrible and very concerning. I already had the transmission fixed at 25000 mile..I am at 32000 and its starting to do the same problem...Ford needs to step up on this..we need a class action suit, like they are doing in Canada on this problem with Ford Motor Company Canada.
