Received a letter a couple months ago to get the PCM updated on my vehicle. And I have much pride in my vehicle and try to take good care of it, because it's my first one I've ever purchased. So I take it to the Ford service center within 24hrs of the first day I noticed the wrench coming on. But, it has been some time now and maybe two and a half weeks ago the 'wrench light' has started to come back on and it has been nothing but havoc.. my vehicle will do a slight jerk once this happens and I try to get to somewhere I can pull over safe because when this happens if I continue driving the RPM will slightly go over where it was when the car was driving normally. Now when this happens and I pull over, 9 times out of 10 when I decide to start the car, the wrench immediately illuminates after putting the car in gear and pulling off. Sometimes the car will crank and immediately shut off. Sometimes it will not illuminate or shut off but when I put the car in gear and pull off, but, I will have a rough take off or it will shut off in the midst of driving.

My vehicle suffered the Ford customer satisfaction program for throttle body failure. The vehicle will idel rough there will be a surge and then the vehicle will go into "limp home mode". this happened while turning at lightfrom a stop. The vehicle accelerated then hesitated the a complete loss of power with the engine light coming on. Att hat point the car was in "limp home mode" the throttle position sensor inside the throttle body was the problem. Contacted Ford and my vehicle is not covered under their customer satisfaction program which extended the warranty on over 1 million for vehicles. I believe Ford needs to extend this "csp" to a larger range of VIN numbers and assembly plants.

Was driving on a busy city street when the car suddenly lost power. No response when I gave it gas. Turned on hazard lights, turned off engine. Restarted engine, put in drive, tried to move - it shook violently and noisily. With no shoulder to street, I was stranded in traffic lane until towtruck arrived. Had to go to Ford dealership, where they performed "field service action 13B17." Service order said "replace throttle body and reflash PCM." Since they did not charge for the repair, I asked if there is a recall on this issue. The technician said there was a recall for recalibration of the PCM, but with a field service action they only replace the throttle body if it fails. Internet research, including this site, revealed that Ford was aware of a throttle body problem but responded only by extending the warranty on it. The company claimed that in the event of a problem, the car would go into "limp home mode." Whatever that means, my experience was that the car suddenly stopped in traffic. Had I been on an interstate, people might have been killed. And I see, from the hundreds of complaints about the same problem, that it has indeed happened on major highways and at high speeds. It is unconscionable for Ford to ignore a known safety problem such as this until after an incident. Upon further inquiry, the service writer at the dealership claimed that there is now a recall for the throttle body problem, that the notices were "just sent out" and I just happened to arrive before getting one. As you know, as of today, September 9, 2014, there is no such recall shown on the Ford site (could not find any recall info) or the NHTSA site. A vehicle's stopping dead without warning is a serious safety hazard. Why are the affected vehicles not being recalled?

Took car in to tropical Ford in orlando for driveability recall. They claimed to reprogram the PCM. Now on Sept. 6 the car is losing power and stalling out. Also the wrench icon is showing on the dash which in the manual states the issue is the throttle control/transmission. I will have the car towed back to the dealer Sept. 8 to have repaired. I suspect is etb connectivity problem, a lot of similar complaints/recall repairs online.

While driving at freeway speed my car completely lost acceleration and started shaking and jerking (surging out of control). There was no throttle response and control of the vehicle was greatly diminished. This situation could lead to fatal crash at highway speed in traffic. Luckily I was able to roll to a stop on the shoulder and get the car towed home.

I parked my car on a slight incline. I got out, like I have done many times, put my car in park. I left the engine running and was out getting my dog some water, placed the water on the deck and turned to get in my car, I heard this pop of a sound and my car started rolling backward. It stayed on this good road I had into my garden, going backward, I tried to get in the car and stop it, but the angle of entry and speed kept me from doing that. It then took a path off the road and I watched as it vanished into a gully, about 8 to 12 feet deep. It cost me approx $3800 to repair, plus rental, plus wrecker, plus checking the under body and tires, wheels. I was told that the gears had jumped loose. It was a horror show, plus costly, and I was very lucky that it went in the gully, instead of the yard next to my property where three kids were playing. I have heard other similar stories, what has or is being done to correct this problem?

Vehicle received updated software in 2010 for the transmission via the recall. Continued with the same problem of shifting from park to drive and at higher speeds the transmission was slipping. Took it to three separate dealers and finally they did a visual and discovered the transmission was fried!!!! there weren't any codes off at the time either. Had to get a new transmission in 2011. Problem still was occurring, but not as severe. Problem now is it's getting worse again. Took in car again and was charged 100 dollars for a them to check it and no codes and they say no problem. I do have a problem. It's an intermittent thing that I can't duplicate spot on all of the time. I'm frustrated and scared to drive this thing. On top of that the dealer has had the car for 5 days without a rental. Frustrated that they recalled the car for the problem, but with the same problem they charge me for looking at it. Shouldn't have to get a new transmission every 30,000 miles. Please advise on who to contact to get this resolved.

Just after starting the car and pulling out to drive, the wrench light comes on....then while driving the acceleration stops and goes to 20 miles per hour or less, then kicks in and accelerates and does the same thing again....I pull over and turn off the car, start the car again, the wrench light goes out then the car operates normally. Took it to mcfarland Ford in exeter nh, after reading information about throttle body malfunction. Was doing the exact thing everyone else said their car was doing. Was told that there was a recall due to throttle body and to bring the car in at no cost....company extended warranty to 10 years or 150,000 miles. While it was there being "fixed", the manager said he couldn't come up with the code for the throttle body, but a code that is related to the throttle body came up and is able to replace the throttle body if anything related to throttle body comes up, so he replaced the throttle body. The manager proceeded to say if the wrench light comes back on, we would need to bring it in again but this time it will cost. Well, the wrench light just came back on again, two days after it was "fixed".

I had just went thru a green light and my car felt like someone had a rope to the back of it and was pulling me back as I was trying to accelerate. I then noticed the wrench light on. I made it to work and when I was backing in to my parking space I felt it tug again. When I got into work, I googled the problem and this is what I came up with. My car barely has 60,000 miles on it and has been a great car and I'm hoping this doesn't cost me alot of money to fix.

I was driving at 35 mph when I lost the throttle. The engine kept running but without acceleration. I pulled into a parking lot restarted and continued. The next day while driving 55 mph at the intersection of two merging expressways the throttle stopped working. I was able to stop in the vee just as the expressways merged. It was extremely dangerous. Had it happened 200 yards ahead I may have been stuck in the middle lane of the road. Ford fixed the problem but I am afraid that an inexperienced driver could have had a fatal accident. This is too dangerous an occurrence not to have a recall.

This car has continually had multiple problems. We bought the car in April of 2012 and less than a year later we were told we needed a new transmission after we began losing power during operation (a serious safety concern!). the car stalls out, the wrench light (and sometimes the engine light) comes on and the car loses power and shakes. Two transmissions later, the problem still persists. Happening again yesterday (a week after we had a new transmission put in). There is no code for the dealer to recognize. The only thing we keep getting from this car is the stress of failure and serious safety concerns.

Vehicle broke down last evening, stalled with wrench light and engine light while driving in traffic. Was able to safely coast to the side of the road and have vehicle towed to dealership. Dealer has diagnosed faulty electronic signal in the throttle body. Dealer has offered to replace the throttle body for $397. (note: Mafs was replaced in this vehicle in January, 2010, only a couple of weeks after I bought it -- not sure if that is relevant or not.) Ford currently has customer satisfaction program #13N03 for extended warranty coverage on throttle bodies for other 2010 Fusion, but they informed me that my vehicle was not included in this program. Perhaps it would be wise for Ford to take a second look to determine if their current customer satisfaction program needs to be expanded?

The first time it happened, I had just reversed out of driveway, put vehicle into drive and nothing happened when I press the gas pedal....with 10 year old daughter in car. Fairly busy street, traffic coming both ways, managed to limp to side of road with flashers on. Quick scan of dash showed a wrench shaped warning light. Checked owners manual, shut car off, back on, seemed to correct itself.2 or 3 days later, wife was driving car, busy area near local mall when same thing happened, told her to turn vehicle off, wait a minute a restart, again problem seemed to resolve itself. After that, remembered I had gotten a letter from Ford, found it and to my "surprise" it was a customer service program 13B17, re: Throttlebody issues. Had "recommended" service, reprogramming of PCM, that was July;Y 11, 2014 drove fine for a couple of weeks, but has happened again with an alarming frequency. Today alone, had to stop, restart vehicle 3 times during what should have been a 10 minute ride, which to about 30 minutes. Ford needs to own this problem before someone is killed!

I was driving on an interstate going 65 mph when my gas pedal stopped working, it would not make my car accelerate. The rpms dropped down to 1000-1500 and my car immediately started to slow down. I pulled to the side of the road and as I slowed down the car jumped and acted like it was stalling out. The wrench light on the dash also illuminated. I put the car in park and let the car run for about 1O more minutes before it stalled out.thinking that my car was broken down and I was going to have to get it towed. Before I called for a tow I restarted the car and when I did, it ran fine.

I was driving on an interstate going 70+ mph when my gas peddle stopped working, it would not make my car accelerate. The rpms dropped down to 1000-1500 and my car immediately started to slow down. I pulled to the side of the road and as I slowed down the car jumped and acted like it was stalling out. The wrench light on the dash also illuminated. I put the car in park and turned off the ignition, thinking that my car was broken down and I was going to have to get it towed. I thought to restart the car and when I did, it ran fine. Until 3 days later when it repeated the same symptoms, 3 times in one day. It has now been a week and I have had countless times where this has happened, many times on the interstate, or busy roads. Just today in a 2 mile stretch this happened 4 times!

Wrench light went on in 2010 Ford Fusion V6 sel. Vehicle had trouble accelerating when gas pedal was pushed. RPM's were sporadic and transmission was not properly functioning. Felt like gears were jumping back and forth. Car was jerky and would only accelerate a little if pedal was pushed all the way down. When I got vehicle home I turned off the car and left for about an hour. I started vehicle again and light was off and rode fine.
