There were two events with the electronic throttle cutting off while driving, though, engine did not stall, requiring reset by turning off the ignition then restarting the car. At the time the throttle cutting off there was a yellow wrench indicator light light on my dash. This mimics NHTSA action number: PE13003, however, this action number does not include my VIN number.

Since this vehicle was made with no gas cap my engine light is always on. Any little bit of dirt I drive yet gets into the seal of the gas tank so my engine light pops on and states there is some sort of leak in the system. I can't afford to keep taking it in to pay and arm and a leg for the dealership just to blow out the seal. So my engine light is always on. This is a very dangerous problem because you never know if there is an actual problem with the vehicle or if it's just that dirt in the seal of the gas tank. Big mistake by Ford and they should fix it or they will definitely lose my business...which I've been Ford loyal since I was old enough to drive. I will also deter anyone else I know from buying for just for the capless gas tank feature!!!!!

As I was cresting a hill, the engine briefly seized, the power steering failed, and the advancetrac light came on. Everything returned to normal two seconds later, except for the advancetrac light. The light turned off after the next start. Multiple times thereafter, when the engine has repeated stops/starts in a short span of time, the advancetrac light comes on and there is a loss of power steering. The power steering returns after idling for a couple of minutes.

Took car in to tropical Ford in orlando for driveability recall. They claimed to reprogram the PCM. Now on Sept. 6 the car is losing power and stalling out. Also the wrench icon is showing on the dash which in the manual states the issue is the throttle control/transmission. I will have the car towed back to the dealer Sept. 8 to have repaired. I suspect is etb connectivity problem, a lot of similar complaints/recall repairs online.

Vehicle broke down last evening, stalled with wrench light and engine light while driving in traffic. Was able to safely coast to the side of the road and have vehicle towed to dealership. Dealer has diagnosed faulty electronic signal in the throttle body. Dealer has offered to replace the throttle body for $397. (note: Mafs was replaced in this vehicle in January, 2010, only a couple of weeks after I bought it -- not sure if that is relevant or not.) Ford currently has customer satisfaction program #13N03 for extended warranty coverage on throttle bodies for other 2010 Fusion, but they informed me that my vehicle was not included in this program. Perhaps it would be wise for Ford to take a second look to determine if their current customer satisfaction program needs to be expanded?

When I purchased the vehicle at 43,000 miles a check fuel fill inlet warning appeared. I main tended the inlet system and the warning and check engine light would disappear. As time went on I noticed that when I would merge onto a busy highway, my car would barely move. I have come very close to death and causing others injuries because of this. I had the throttle body checked after the recall and the mechanic said that the throttle wasn't the issue. A P0456 appeared and that means a small evaporate leak. I asked the dealership if they performed a smoke test and he said no. After paying 90$ for a diagnostic fee that wasn't performed accordingly to the tab bulletin, I became very angry and frustrated with Ford. Every ime I switch gears or even accelerate my car jerks so hard that I hear what is my engine or transmission loudly shifting. This past week my car won't start. It takes 15-20 seconds to turn on. After someone jumped the vehicle when I was stuck at work, my check engine light disappeared, my sync and voice featured disappeared, and now I can't even charge my phone! also, the air conditioner quit working as well. I feel as though all of the cars functions are deleting themselves from the car. I do not feel safe in this vehicle and I cannot continue to work because of it. How can I pay for an expensive repair when I can't drive to make the money? I take very good care of the vehicle and do not feel financially responsible for this poorly manufactured car. They need to recall the 2010 Ford Fusion before someone gets hurt or even something worse.

While driving on the highway the accelerator suddenly stopped working and had to pull over in high speeds when my vehicle could not accelerate. Was towed and autobody shop found that the car was in "limp mode". engine code P2111 throttle actuator control system (tac) stuck open. Diagnosis shows an internal fault with throttle position sensor circuit.

Ford has had a problem with their ac equipment since 2006. They have ignored this problem and have left to owner for repairs. The problem has nothing to do with the ac but with the temperature sensor evaporator. Which can either over heat or freeze up behind the dash. It cost most owner a high labor cost for the replacement of this defect that Ford is aware of. Vehicles involve with this problem are not just the Ford Fusion but also the Lincoln ls as wellas the 2012-2014 Fusion. Beings that Ford knows about the problem, they bare the responsibility to rectify the defect.

For several months the vehicle has been randomly shutting off mid-drive. Followed by that the check engine light and a wrench light would light up. A week ago we received letter in the mail from Ford saying that our vehicle is eligible for new throttle body since there has been issues since manufactured, which perfectly explained our problem. We took it to Ford, where they replaced the throttle body. However, only a week later the car is back to the same throttle body part problem. On Saturday, 6/28/14 at around 11:40pm the car turns off mid-drive right before I cross over a major intersection, rt 130 and rt 30 in collingswood, NJ area. I quickly braked and turned the engine completely off before I passed the white line. I sat through an entire green and red light. Once the light turned green again, I started the car back up and pressed my gas pedal. The car instantly turned off again, where I was now caught in the intersection. There was no momentum, so I very slowly coasted through during the green light, yellow light, and possibly some of the red light. Luckily, I made it through the intersection out of harm, but I was at a great risk of getting T-boned by oncoming traffic on a major street such as route 130 especially late at night. Obviously, the new throttles do not fix the problem. I no longer feel safe driving this car after this near fatal incident. Is Ford going to wait until there is fatalities from this manufactured malfunction before they act and recall this make and model?

I was driving at a low speed of approximately 20-25 mph behind a large truck. Truck pulled over to let people pass, and when I tried to accelerate, nothing happened and the speed dropped to 5mph and did not respond to accelerator pedal. An "orange wrench, repair needed" indicator light was on as I coasted off road and turned off ignition. Waited 10 minutes, restarted car and drove home without incident. There was also another incident that seemed insignificant at the time: About 2 months ago, when accelerating to go up a hill, the car did not respond and crawled extremely slow uphill, but was ok when back on flat ground. Recently received letter from Ford about a recall repair for problem with throttle body, causing car to lose power, and to bring it in for a calibration upgrade. Upgrade is to give slightly more power if you should have problem, but does not correct problem since not all cars will experience loss of power. Went to dealer after I had lost power, asking for replacement of throttle body since I had an "incident" as described in recall. They only did a calibration upgrade since they could "not duplicate the problem" at repair shop.computer diagnostics did not record a problem with throttle body. Said "no codes in PCM. Re-flashed PCM, return to customer". the incident that happened to me was real, and potentially very dangerous. Had I been out on the busy highway, it could have been fatal. I feel that if Ford knows there is a problem and refuses to correct it when a problem is reported, they are being negligent. I wanted to somehow document what happened to me, since I feel the car is unsafe to drive, and this problem will likely happen again.Ford knows about the problem, but if they can't trust what is being reported by a customer, the safety of anyone who owns one of these cars is being compromised. This is a very dangerous issue.

I bought my 2010 Ford Fusion sel V6 with 12000 miles and drive it daily 120 miles/day to work. It has 106,000 miles now. Last week, for the third time, the "service power steering now" and "service advancetrac" indicators flashed on while driving 70 mph at night, using cruise control. Arrived home safely, next morning, no power steering. Drove car to Ford dealership, who hooked it up to diagnostic machine, and cleared messages, power steering now functioning again. The second time this occurred the dealership looked at something to do with the wheel on the passenger side. I have not used cruise control with this car since the second episode, nearly a year ago. Last week, when the third failure occurred, my friend was driving the car and had activated the cruise control, and I had warned him that I believed there was some relationship factor with using cruise control and the loss of power steering. I drive quite roughly, aggressively, and have hit many bumps with no loss of power steering. During the first and second occurrence the cruise control was activated, a rough spot was encountered, and the "service power steering now -advancetrac" messages came on, with consequential loss of power steering. No mechanical work seems to matter, only effective action is clearing the messages and reestablishing power steering by hooking up to diagnostic machine. I believe it is a software glitch maybe involving a sensor. I am not a mechanic. Will the recall/replacement of throttle assembly solve this problem?? Ford needs to step up and respond to this problem.

I am a California highway patrol officer. I depend on Ford vehicles. My life, literally depends upon it. That being said, I will never own a Ford vehicle again. I own a 2010 Ford Fusion with 93, xxx miles on the odometer. As I was traveling to work, my Fusion lost all power, and forced me to the right side shoulder of the highway. This action nearly resulted in a major injury, rear end collision. All this occurred during the hours of darkness, on a major highway, in the greater san francisco bay area. How this problem has not yet required immediate attention by the Ford Motor Company // U.S government, is beyond belief. I purchased a replacement throttle body from an outside retailer, (not a Ford factor part) installed it in my garage, and have had no issues as of this posting. How the Ford Motor Company can justify $400 to $500 dollars to replace this problem part, is beyond my understanding. How is this not yet a government recall?? I may be forced to drive Ford vehicles in order to do my job, but to reiterate, my family will never again purchase a Ford vehicle. Every cloud has a silver lining. I am grateful my Fusion shut down rather than accelerate. I guess the Ford Motor Company must have learned something from the Toyota motor company. Now it just takes the useless government morons to force Ford Motor Company to admit to, and fix this obvious problem.

As I was pulling out into traffic from the driveway of the grocery store my car seemed as if it stalled as I was driving. It would not move as I pressed the gas pedal. It did not go off. It just would not move. I put my hazard lights on so the approaching cars could go around me. I then turned the car off and restarted it. It seemed to hesitate a bit but then started and I proceeded to go home. This was the scariest thing I have ever experienced. I am just thankful that my kids and I were not hurt. This is the second time this has happened to me. The first incident occurred about 3 to 4 months ago. I did not know about the recall at that time. Both incidents occurred without notice and while I was pulling into traffic.

I was driving the road around 50 mph.,when suddenly my car was idling! I tried to push the gas but the car was no power I gear off to the side of the road. I put the car to park. After I restart my car and seems nothing was wrong with it.I took my car to Ford dealer schwabengarage ag stuttgart-vaihingen germany / garage to look what is wrong with it, they didn't see anything wrong with it. So I drove my car again, my boyfriend search the problem and found out that the throttle body is not working right, but the dealer couldn't see the problem. My boyfriend order the parts anyway because I can feel that my car is going to break down again. I was driving this morning with my two kids when my car lose power again. I turned it off and start again and after 100 meters it did the same again. I was terrified and pray hard that the other car will not hit us. I took my car to aafes / military installation car care with the parts we purchased and replaced the throttle body. I drove my car home today and got home safely. I found out that Ford Fusion has been having this problem.

Every time engine starts, Ford Fusion dash displays two (2) fault codes: Cross traffic system fault, and check rear park aid. Both fault alerts clear after pressing controls on the steering wheel. However, both, the rear park aid, and the cross traffic system stopped working. Each provides unique audible buzzing alerts when auto is in reverse to warn of an impending crash/contact with a person or object. Two safety system features that no longer work.
