problem #1

Nov 112014

Fusion SEL 2.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 78,000 miles

Two dealers worked on engine light for #1 cylinder miss firing code. First cleaned injectors. Problem went away for two days. Problem recurred on 800 mile trip home. My home dealer Lebanon Ford took two days; changed my spark plugs and decided it was not the plugs.

Second day determined it was the wiring harness not snapped shut. Problem cleared up. Cost over $700 between them simply to snap the wiring harness. On electrical problems this should be the first place to start. The dealer was told the problem lay in the signal from the computer. They chose to ignore the customer and follow their procedures. If they would have checked the signal to the coil or injector they would have discovered it was the signal being interrupted and looked to the connector saving me an additional service charge as well as spark plugs, about $325. You make more money not listening to the customer.
