The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and after it was diagnosed the dealer stated they could find nothing wrong; however, the identical failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but it was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileage was 47,000.

Traveling on the freeway this morning, when my vehicle suddenly slows to a crawl, and I lose power to the gas pedal. I just miss being hit by a semi-tractor which had been behind me. I was able to motion my car across three lanes to the side of the freeway. After shutting the vehicle off, and restarting the vehicle it seemed to run normal until about 50 miles down the road when the same thing happened again. I am afraid to drive the car at this point. Dealership claims they are now sure what the cause is, but have seen this numerous times.

I was driving on the highway at 65 mph during rush hour traffic when suddenly my speed dropped to 5 mph. I pulled off to the side of the road and turned off my car. After sitting for a few minutes I started the car and got back on the highway. After I traveled for approximately one mile it did the same thing again. I turned off the car and restarted in a minute or two and again was able to continue my travels on the highway. My destination was about two miles away. I called the dealer, ganley Ford, that I purchased the car from and was able to get my car in that day. The diagnosed the problem to be the throttle body. I was told that it would take a week for the part to come in. To my surprise it only took three days for it come in. I was told that this was not covered under the manufacturer warranty or under my extended warranty. This a very serious issue and I am lucky that I was not hit from behind because there was no warning that this was going to happen. My spend just went from 65 mph to 5 mph. I had the gas pedal to the floor, but my car would not go. I have read many Ford forums and blogs and it appears that this is a very common problem. I believe that these cars should be recalled and those of us that have already paid to have the problem fixed should be reimbursed.

I had come to a stop light and was turning right when the car went into limp mode. Second time about two weeks later I was turning onto a entrance ramp to an interstate and was accelerating when it went into limp mode. It happened again two weeks later. About three weeks ago I was idling when the car totally cut off. I restarted it drove 5 miles and it went into limp mode when I was pulling into a parking lot. Yesterday it happened when I was doing a steady 70 mph on the interstate. Today when I was doing 65 mph on the interstate. Each time, I pulled over, turned the ignition off and restarted the car which ran normally after that.

During initial acceleration the car will lose power and start shaking sporadically. The car will not stall but it does not accelerate even when the gas peddle is depressed. The car has to be restarted to stop behavior. Check engine light appeared after the behavior persisted for about a week. Brought car to an auto zone for an odbii reading. The codes that were reported are as follows: P2111: Throttle actuator control system - stuck open. P0457: Evap small leak detected brought car to Ford dealer as problem persisted. Ford dealer diagnosed problem as electronic throttle body failure. Electronic throttle body was replaced.

While driving down a moderately traveled road, my vehicle lost power where when I pushed on the accelerator (nothing happened). I was able to get pulled off the side of the road and some warning lights appeared on my dash. I turned the car off and restarted it and it seemed to be okay (no warning lights on dash) and I proceeded home. The following morning it happened again while attempting to pull away from a traffic light on a busier road. I managed to get off the road, turned it off and tried restarting it. Once I got it restarted, I headed straight for the dealership. It was diagnosed as being the throttle body. My issue is that it can completely catch the driver off guard and cause an accident. The vehicle is not very old and the manufacturer seems to be controlling the distribution of the part (only so many released at a time). It took over a week to get my car back for what seems to be a very common issue as read in forums from other owners of the same type of vehicle. I believe the issue with the throttle body needs to be reviewed for a possible recall.

Was driving on highway, when my 2010 Ford Fusion SE lost power and was jerking forward. I had to pull over to side of highway because I could not accelerate. Indicator light for transmission problem was on. I turned off the car and restarted, after which the vehicle ran fine again. However, after driving for a few more miles, car did the same thing. I again restarted and vehicle ran fine again, this time running long enough for me to get home. While driving it to the Ford dealership, it did this again, this time at speed of about 60 mph. Vehicle would drive but was only able to go at very low speeds. Dealer said it was an issue with throttle body and that this part is on backorder.

4th incident with my 2010 Fusion shutting down while driving. I picked it up from the Ford service 6/18 and they said they fixed it, again. I drove to work, no problems. Got off work, driving for about 10 minutes and the car sputtered, wrench light comes on and when I press the gas, nothing happens. Coasted to the side of the road and it sputtered some more and shuts off. Ford keeps making repairs to my car saying they've fixed it but it's not fixed. Now I have $1,200 in repair bills and no car. I'm scared to drive my car and very stressed over this. No one should have to keep going through this danger of driving a car that keeps shutting off! and as I see from other Ford owners, I'm not the only one this is happening to. Ford needs to do something about this issue, or someone is going to get seriously hurt, or killed!! I've complained to Ford motor credit customer service and filed another complaint with the NHTSA. Please do something to recall these cars to fix the issues!!

On June 18, 2013 while driving home from work I was stopped a yield sign waiting for traffic to clear which would allow me to enter a main road. When traffic was clear I pressed the accelerator and began to proceed. Within one or two seconds I lost all power in my accelerator and the rpms were not moving in my dashboard. As I steered my vehicle to the side of the road my car began to jerk as I put my vehicle in park; roughly 100 feet from where I pulled from. It is important to note the wrench on the dashboard turn on when my vehicle came to rest. I turned my car off and put my hazards on. I waited several seconds then turn the car on. It had trouble starting but did start. I noticed the wrench on again but it quickly turned off. If the road was not clear when I pulled from the yield sign I would have caused and accident after starting my vehicle and proceeding down the road about 1 mile the vehicle had the same sequence of losing power in the accelerator and jerking to a stop as I put the vehicle in park. This time the road had widened to a tow lane road overpass of an interstate. My vehicle came to a stop just before the entrance to the interstate. The posted speed limit is 35 mph but people typically accelerate to 50 mph preparing to enter the highway. Coming to a stop before the interstate on ramp thankfully did not cause an accident but did cause a small traffic slow down as I pulled to the side of the road. Again I was able to start the vehicle with a little trouble and this time I noticed the wrench and check engine light on. After dropping my vehicle off on June 19, 2013 I received a call from the Ford dealership advising the issue was related to the throttle body and that it would need to be replaced. I authorized the work because I need a reliable car and do not want to fear for my safety while driving the vehicle.

Driving and lost power, car engine died. Wrench icon came on on the ger indicator. Sputtered when coming to stop and had to shut car off and restart. When restarted I had no odemeter or gas mileage indicator on dash. Did another 2 times until I reached my destination, approx 3 -5 miles away. I was out of town when happened and I called my Ford dealer and explained and the service manager stated he was 95% sure it was the throttle body. He also stated I might not be able to get fixed right away as to the possibility of no parts available as a known issue. Had to finally stop at a Ford dealer on Sunday on our return trip as kept happening, repeatedly and too unsafe to drive any further as we were not getting any further than 5 miles apart before it kept happening and 2 of us had to stay overnight in a hotel until the Ford dealer opened Monday am. On the 4th time this happened, a check engine light finally came on..not prior to this though.the Ford dealer confirmed it was the throttle body and we did have replaced at that time.

While driving, the electronic throttle body malfunctioned, causing my car to start to lose speed rapidly. I was in interstate traffic, making this issue that much more dangerous. I was lucky that I was in the right hand lane without heavy traffic and could pull safely off of the road. This has occurred multiple times since then. It seemed to be an intermittent problem, but has now put my car out of commission until it is fixed. The cost of repair is over $400. Upon researching this, I found that it is a very common problem that Ford seems to know about, but will not cover under the extended warranty I have because it is an "emissions" part. I must state that I absolutely love my car and like the way it drives, but am disappointed that this has not been recalled since it is common enough for the dealer to know what it is before even looking at the car. I also must say that my dealer has dealt with me fairly and honestly through the whole process.

Driving at highway speeds when I felt a shudder and realized I was losing forward momentum. Rpms dropped and the engine did not respond to stepping on the gas pedal. A wrench light illuminated on the dash. Only coasting, I was able to move the car to the side of the road and put it in park. Car had a very shaky idle, like it was about to stall. I turned off the ignition and waited for about 1 min, then tried to turn the car back on. Car took longer than usual to turn back on, but once it was back on it seemed fine. Was able to continue driving it to my destination without further incident. Five days after first incident, same even occurred again, with turning the car off and on seeming to correct the problem for the time. No electrical, braking, or power-steering power was lost.

My 2010 Ford Fusion (40000 miles) suddenly began to shake and then all of the sudden it stalled and would no longer move until it was shut off and cranked back up. I had to maneuver my way off the highway by coasting. This has happened 5 times since the original incident. I originally thought I had gotten some bad gas. This is not the case. It recently stalled while I was driving under a red light. I was very fortunate to be able to coast out of the way of oncoming traffic. When this happens you are without the ability to accelerate and move off the road. You must depend entirely on coasting to safety. I have taken it to a Ford dealership this morning. They said it was the throttle body and it would possibly take 8 weeks to get a new one since so many are being needed. Why has Ford not issued a recall on this dangerous part? I have read many accounts online of owners having this same problem with the throttle body. I am very thankful that I was not hit by oncoming traffic. I hope that it does not take someone getting injured for Ford to do something about this problem.

The check engine light comes on along with a wrench light. The car no longer accelerates and starts stopping. When the brake is applied it starts shaking. It has happened a few times since the first occurrence with the last on the expressway with my daughter driving. She as traveling in the left lane when the car stopped accelerating and eventually came to a stop. She managed to somehow get it over to the right shoulder as it was dying and shaking. I have done some research and this appears to be a known defect with the throttle body. I took the car in and there is a national back order on the part so it can't be repaired immediately. It seems if this is a known issue and can be extremely dangerous that there should be a recall.

On wed June 12th while on the interstate at 70mph in busy traffic I in the middle of 3 lanes it decides to again loose accelerator pedal and idle...no where to go cars zooming up on me and honking and slammin on there brakes!. I pull over finally and turn key off and restarts easily. Upon gettin off interstate it continues to stall at will. Pulled into autozone and have it checked for error code and said was faulty throttle body. Upon looking up on line I was amazed that this is so common with the motor trends car or the year in 2010! and still no recall from Ford! I feel this is as big safety issue! what if this happens into a merge situation" or turnin into high speed traffic???" please help.
