Fusion SEL 2.5L

Very annoying. This is the 2nd time this happened this year, the first time it happened I thought I was actually hallucinating so I blew it off.

Not even a year later this happens while I'm at a stop light today, my car just starts jerking and moving aggressively. EVERY time I'm at a red light I have to put my car in park because it wont stop shaking and I'm scared of the outcome if I leave it in drive with my foot on the brake.

Now today my check engine light came on while I was driving down the road, but the jerking/shaking problem seemed to stop. Not really sure what happened but I'm extremely glad I still have my extended warranty, I've had powertrain problems in the past such as the throttle body failing with the orange wrench light on my dash in 2018, that was luckily replaced.

Only seems like after your car is fully paid off the issues seem to begin, never had any problems under 60k miles. Unbelievable.

The light keeps coming on but I am still able to drive. I read some reviews how the tool light also comes on which it did then went off and then the engine light came on but it did not stall. It is quite annoying so I want to know it it is a recall for the 2010 Ford Fusion

My only problem is that I was charged $85 for them to run a test, my light was off for one week and came back on. By that time I was moving out of state. The car is now in shop for a recall issue (unrelated) and they may or may not check into the engine light. On my receipt it says: Self test pcm code p0455 large evap leak perform evap test passed no leak at this time p06b8 internal control module non volatile random access memory error reprogram pcm.

Update from Mar 10, 2015: Have replaced purge valve and new battery, $309. Will post if this does not fix the problem. If it does, PTL!!

i brought my 2010 ford fusion to the local dealer with the complaint of the check engine light on and my car pulsating hard when it heated up. they put it on the tester thing and it said the number 6 spark wasnt firing they replaced the spark plug and the coil, reset the code and sent me on my way. after paying a 400$ bill 2 days later i went back with the same exact problems like it was never even fixed... they changed the oil and put some kind of c-foam in it and said that it was all fixed and the tech drove it. its running fine reset the code again and sent me on my way again 2 days later check engine light is on again. i called and they told me we think it mite be a stuck valve and that can be costly...are u kidding me rite now is this a guessing game at my expense i called the 800 number to try to get someone to get me a straight answer and because its not in warranty there is nothing they can do for me that i should continue working with the dealer....NOT A HAPPY FORD OWNER RIGHT NOW isf there is anyone else with the same issue with there 2010 fusion please let me know i just cant believe for the mileage i have on my car that this could even be an issue...angry and confused i just want a straight answer to fix my car...

I was driving to work this morning(7/9/2013) and my car had a bang and the engine lost power. I coasted to the shoulder of the road and shut the car off before I did I noticed the check engine light on and a little wrench light on too. when I started it up it drove ok for a while then it happened again and again. after work it happened all the way home sometimes only making it about 50 feet before happening again. I was able to make it to auto zone and they pulled 2 codes off the computer p2111 and p2112 and when they looked it up on there system, it said one was for the throttle plate at a greater angle then commanded and the other one was for throttle plate at a lower angle then commanded both probable cause was the throttle body binding. ford needs to do something about this as I am not the only one experiencing this issue my car is not that old and only about 12000 miles a year on it I love the car just not this problem

Fusion SE 4.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 92,000 miles

Engine light on, have lost all power in middle of intersections, going down interstates, turning left or right, stopped at red lights. Will shake rattle and roll until you turn car off, takes at least 5 times to start again to the point of being able to take off again and not lose power. Took back to dealer and explained that I am eventually going to be killed in this car if not fixed. Dealership said to bad not under warranty. Autozone said they have had several fusions in, the machine is reading gross leakage of emissions. Car is a 2010, bought 7 months ago will never ever buy a Ford of any kind again, if I make it out alive of this piece of crap it will be a surprise to all!
