It is currently at a Ford dealership the throttle body is having to be replaced. The part is on national backorder. So I definitely think this is a serious problem that should be recalled so everyone knows to have it fixed. And we shouldn't have to pay hundreds of dollars to have something fixed that was faulty to begin with.

Not covered by warranty since vehicle was just beyond 60,000 mile warranty.

Driving 45 miles per hour, when car just started shaking then stopped, glided over to breakdown lane. Car started again after a minute or so went on our way. Next day car stopped again, twice. Took it into Ford dealership. They said it was the throttle body and is on back order but we can clean it, they did and charged $250 for service. Well it is happening again and again. We bought this car brand new in 2010 for our retirement car, it has only 38000 miles. We are afraid to take long trips, so we are stuck to home with only grocery store and other runs. What a retirement!!!!!!!!! we traded in a 2003 Crown Victoria, Ford of course. My first car was a 1962, galaxie 500 and have had Ford ever since, can send you pictures of all our Ford. Never had a Ford with a problem, ever, talk about scary, we are in out upper 60S and driving this car is so really scary. We do not need to have or cause an accident. It keeps happening, sad for us.

While driving down the highway at 50 mph in my 2010 Ford Fusion, the engine shut down and I was unable to get the engine to do anything but remain at idle, I coasted to the shoulder of the road. I shut the engine off and then restarted it. I managed to get back home. I took the car to a Ford garage and they determined that the throttle body was bad. They have ordered a new throttle body so they can make the repair.

This morning my wife told me her car would not accelerate and had acted like it was out of gas. She said when she stopped and turned the car off and then restarted the car it worked fine for a few miles. I decided to take it to my mechanic. On the way there the car would get up to around 40 to 45 and then seem to loose power. When I would pull over the car would begin to shake. I had to turn the car off and wait a couple of minutes and then restart it and it would be fine for a while. Finally made it to the mechanic and after being checked it turned out to be the throttle body. The mechanic said they called for the parts and there were over 4,000 on back order. There were able to find one and hopefully it will arrive in a day or so. With that many on back order and all the comments here you would think this would be a recall item. I can't imagine what could happen if you were in heavy traffic and this happened. It is a safety issue that needs to be addressed.

My wife was driving on the main major highway two weeks ago around 45 miles per hour. The car lost all acceleration. She had to Dodge moving traffic to pull over with no power. After she shut the car off it started again without issues. Yesterday I was driving about 40 and also lost acceleration but still had power, it was weired the car was still on, but the yellow "wrench light" came on indicating it was a throttle control transmission problem! I pulled over put the car in park, turn off the ignition, and restart the car with out a problem. Its only 2010 Fusion so we shouldn't be having this issue... in these two incidents an experienced driver was behind the wheel my son has started driving and this is a receipt for disaster or worse! from what the Ford dealer mentioned it could be the throttle body problem and it's not covered under warranty. There needs to be a recall, especially with the number of compaints I have read before someone isn't so lucky in traffic. "Ford Motor Company", lets not wait for serious injury or death to address this issue! recall actions need to be taken asap "before" a serious incident !

I was driving on a major highway in town going about 45 miles per hour. The car started shaking violently and I could not accelerate. I had to Dodge moving traffic while my car shut down. I had to put the car in park, turn off the ignition, and restart the car. A yellow wrench light came on while the car was shaking. I was able to avoid getting into an accident, however I was fearful for my life. There needs to be a recall, especially with the number of complaints I have read. It is beyond me how this is not under warranty, considering my car is less than 5 years old and doesn't even have 40K miles on it. After a tow to the local Ford dealership, I was told (4 days later) that it was the throttle body and it's not covered under warranty.

Driving at 70 mph, lost power, check engine light came on and the wrench icon on dash also lit up. Coasted to stop and it ran very rough but wouldn't move. If you turned it off and restarted it, it would run for a couple of miles and then it would happen again. Diagnostic code 2111 showed meaning throttle body malfunction. The Ford dealer, [xxx] (tampa) reported that Ford is having widespread throttle body malfunctions on the 2010, 2011 and 2012 2.5 liter cars. They didn't have the part in stock and they told me it was on back order and they didn't know when to expect it. They said Ford has ordered it's supplier to make at least 1,000 replacement throttle bodies to address this problem apparently for cars still under warranty.. I called my local Ford dealership, and they stated this was a common problem in the Fusion. My car has cut off several times while driving around town also. It's extremely scary and dangerous to have no acceleration in 65 mph traffic.

While turning into a parking lot at a speed less than 25 mph my Ford Fusion 2010 stalled and began slowing down despite pressing the gas pedal and the wrench light appeared. The car was put into park and turned off. When the car was turned back on, the light was gone and began running normal. Car was then parked. After 45 minutes the car was started again and driven at 25 mph for about 1 mile, after stopping at a stop sign and then turning onto a 2 lane road the car encountered the same problem and was unable to accelerate despite pressing the gas. The car was again turned off and back on, with all lights disappearing and running normal. I began drive down the road to move out of traffic, the car the encountered the same problem 3 more times in less than one half mile. A tow truck was called and car was towed to a Ford dealership. The following day the Ford dealership called to inform us that the problem was the fuel throttle body that needed to be replaced. They informed us that the part needed to be order but did not know when it would be in. Later in the day upon talking to the dealership again they informed us that this particular part was currently on back order until June 18th/ indefinitely.

After sat idle for 5 minutes, car started and drove fine remainder of trip. Did not take car in. 3rd, 4th & 5th incidents (5/24/2013), lost all power when doing in-town driving. Ran vehicle health report said issue with trottle control (?). again sat idle a few minutes restarted car and drove fine for short period of time. 4th & 5th incidents happened in 15-20 drive to dealership.

Once put into the shop, the Ford dealer told me it may be weeks or months before a part is available and I am currently without a vehicle.
