While driving, the throttle body valve malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to rapidly lose power and go into an engine "safe mode." The check engine light appeared on the dash. I was luckily able to pull over to the side of the road. Restarting the vehicle cleared the error, but the issue continued to recur until I was able to get home. Luckily the sudden loss of power did not cause an incident, but as it occurred on the highway, a sudden drop in speed could have posed a safety risk, especially if it had occurred in inclement weather. There was a recall for the specific part that failed, but due to my model being a hybrid, it was not included even though it contained the exact faulty component. Speaking with Ford Customer Care confirmed this to be the case that my specific car was not included in the recall. I was able to order the replacement part myself and perform the repair. The error message that was thrown in the car's OBD system was: P2112 "Throttle Actuator Control System - Stuck Closed" The code was not saved in the module so it could only be read at the time the issue was actively occurring before the vehicle was turned off.

While driving my 2010 Ford Fusion, on five separate occasions (two times less than a week apart) and over the last five months, while stopping for traffic lights, traffic or pedestrians the brake pedal travelled just inches from the floor and extra effort was needed in attempt to activate the brakes hoping to come to a complete stop. On two jarring instances collision was avoided only by swerving the vehicle to keep from hitting a wayward pedestrian and the other instance was with another vehicle backing out in a mall shopping center. On all five occasions there was an associated amber ABS light on the dash, a sudden drop in brake pressure and severely degraded to no braking power during application. The brake fluid reservoir is appropriately filled with the manufacturer specified DOT 3 brake fluid and there are no leaks in the system whatsoever. I-??ve been told at the Ford dealership that my vehicle will not be able to be inspected or seen by appointment for a little over 2 months (late Oct 2022). I-??ve contacted Ford-??s customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and they stated that my VIN# is not included in the recall: 19S54. It-??s apparent that my vehicle is experiencing all of the identical issues which prompted the Ford recall 19S54. Please assist so the Ford Fusion community can resolve this issue before another catastrophic event occurs.

On December 1st I was driving my Ford Fusion 2 the actual Ford dealership to get a look at their field service action that they had posted on my Ford app. While on my way I was stopped at a light on columbia drive in portland Oregon and I had thought my foot slipped off the brake initially but actually would happen if my car had accelerated and to the gentleman in front of me causing a car accident. My insurance company would have nothing to do with it I tried to contact Ford the dealership that I normally go to to see if they could repair the front-end of my Ford Fusion that was demolished and also no airbags went off as I had just got my car out of the shop at Ford for a recall on the airbags my fiance was with me so there was definitely cause for concern fortunately nobody was hurt but like I said my car was demolished on the right passenger side front end I couldn't figure out why my car accelerating on its own so looking into it the explanation that I came up with was definitely the electronic throttle body motor and all I want is my car returned back to its prior condition I have no other vehicle I don't know who to contact I did contact Ford and was referred to a bigger Ford company if someone could help that would be amazing I'd appreciate it... also no warnings or sensors went off in my vehicle I do have the sel package and once again no airbags were deployed and for the amount of damage that was done I was very surprised

I have a Ford Fusion 2010 we purchased last year and apparently it had throttle issues that we covered a few years ago our car is starting to act up with this to where last week I could have died on a major highway in pa cause I lost engine power and your company is refusing to fix the problem if something happens to me or my family I will sue Ford because your company is refusing to help fix my car because it's past the 10 years or 150,000 it should not matter. I know it's the throttle cause both the engine light and the wrench will come on and it shakes bad please I want this fixed by Ford at no charge

Upon 9 years of age my 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid (any many others) no longer functions as a hybrid vehicle and will only use the internal combustion engine. This causes a safety concern due to the fact that the ev motor is supposed to kick in from a stop upon acceleration. This causes a significant delay in acceleration while it tries to use the ev motor but cannot due to this limitation. While at roundabouts or when making left hand turns this is a significant safety issue. Ford has done nothing to address this or even acknowledge the fact that this issue exists.

I had already gotten my throttle body repaired the year before my car started jolting as if it was malfunctioning again. This time though the vehicle would jump when I tried accelerate from stop, rpms would go all the way up to 5 before switching gears and the speedometer would move up and down while electrical lights flickered. Took it to Ford and nothing was found so I got an oil change and transmission flush. That same day the car started doing it again. I took the car back to Ford they offered to clean the throttle body and returned the car the next day. Not even 24hrs after started the same problem. I took car to auto zone they immediately found an error for the camshaft position sensor. Brought car back to Ford where they had me leave it for two days for the transmission tech to look at it. They then said oil had leaked onto the sensor causing the car to drive that way. Replaced that and the head that was leaking. Car was still jolting and driving as if throttle body was messed up but worse. I brought my car back that same week they found a sensor that needed to be replaced in the transmission. This whole while I was 8-9 months pregnant and ended up spending 1200 dollars on something that should've been fixed the first timr and in my opinion a side effect from the car having a defective throttle body for so long before they allowed it to be fixed.

Intermittently my brakes will go out, most often this happens after the vehicle has been off and I turn it off and try to reverse though it also happens when in drive. It has happens on access roads, the highway, my driveway and most often in parking lots. My car will roll and be completely unresponsive to the fact that I have my foot on the brake. The brake pedal goes soft and I can press it all the way to the floor. My brake light, ABS light, etc on the dashboard all light up and my car keeps rolling. I try turning my vehicle on and off as sometimes even the emergency brake or putting the car in park will not get the vehicle to stop. I have almost hit other cars and pedestrians because of this issue and it is highly dangerous and come to find out a known glitch for some 2010 Ford Fusion.

Rapid deceleration: While driving on the freeway rapid deceleration occurred. Car slowed to about 25mph and would not accelerate when gas pedal was pushed. Exited freeway.. turned engine off and restarted. Car operated normal. No error icons showed. About a half mile from home problem reoccurred crawled home at 10mph. Next several days problem did not reoccur. About a week later same problem reoccurred while driving home..10mph. Spoke to Ford service to see if they would cover repairs and they declined. Took it to my repair shop and they replaced the throttle body. $600. Very scary dangerous situation when this occurs on the freeway.

On 3 seperate occasions I have experienced sudden rapid acceleration with my auto. First while slowly accelerating from a parking spot in a crowded department store parking lot. Second while slowly moving forward in a fast food drive thru line. Barely missing the vehicle in front of me. And third while slowing down approaching a stop sign again moving slow exiting a parking lot. All three times I've had to almost stand on the brake to stop and shift to neutral and kill the engine. The vehicle is a 2010 Ford Fusion with apprx 130,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While reversing into a parking space, the engine suddenly revved very high before the vehicle suddenly accelerated. After turning the vehicle off and restarting the engine, the vehicle operated normally; however, the failure recurred approximately four hours later. While at a stop light, the engine suddenly began to rev very high and the engine suddenly accelerated. While depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward and caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The driver shifted into park to stop the vehicle. There was a car in front of me and a car in back of me. Car violently shook and sped forward at a fast speed. Car veered into oncoming traffic and went up over the curb. Consumer's foot was on the brake the whole time. Consumer put the car in park and the vehicle stopped. Engine was racing. The vehicle was taken to jd byrider (1561 West Liberty ave, pittsburgh, pa) where it was diagnosed that the motor mount was faulty and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.

While driving Fusion service down highway Sunday(12-16-18) service power steering now light came on & couldn't turn steering wheel without complications & had to get home to park car before I hit something due to steering wheel too hard to steer, car shaking, and couldn't hardly keep in lane. The service advance light also came on & both remain on & little to no control left to steer the car so car remains parked. Ford knows there are issues with this part and extremely costly repairs and part is a necessity to safely operate the car. This part should be recalled and repaired at the cost of Ford motor not their customers who seek a safe car to Transport themselves and their families in.

I bought the car used the end of July 2018 for my daughter to drive. She informed me today that from time to time it as if the car stalls out when driving it or when she tries to accelerate. I did some research online just a few minutes ago and found that this is a common problem. See the link attached: Https://www.carcomplaints.com/Ford/Fusion/2010/engine/sudden_deceleration_loss_of_power.shtml this was just from one website and there are several others with the same issue. It would seem to me that this is a safety issue. My question is if this has been brought to your attention, why would you not do something about it? not being able to accelerate when in traffic can be extremely dangerous and could lead to car accidents. She is living in atlanta and I am in orlando so she just mentioned it today when I talked to her but she said it has happened a few times since she has had it the last few months.

Takata recall I was driving and the car began to slow down rapidly. I was unable to control where I was going and unable to accelerate or decelerate. I have no control over the vehicle when this happens. It is not an all the time problem, but does happen very often. The check engine light comes on when it happens and the car accelerates briefly before instantly shutting off. The wrench symbol also comes on before this all takes place. I could be using cruise control or just normal driving and it happens in both situations. The vehicle tends to do it no matter where you are such as a high way or on a regular city street. I have had the vehicle checked out numerous (six) times to see why it does this. The mechanic hooks it up to the computer every time and states there is nothing wrong but then resets the symbol lights so they go out. The car will be fine for a week or so and then do it again! it is scary when it happens and I try not to drive the car due to this issue. How can you fix something the mechanics state is not broken? something isnt right with the vehicle and something needs to be investigated to see why it does this! it can not only be my car!

April 30, 2018 after driving for 3 hours on the highway at appr. 75 to 80 mph the dash lights went haywire, flickering and then the service advancetrac warning came D. I was able to drive it to my exit and drive slowly. I could stop and go very slow. After a mile or 2 the batter light and all the lights came on and the brake light warning light came on. I could feel the car loosing power so I pulled over. At this time it was also chiming that the cross fault system was not available. After turning the car off, it would not start, the radio would play, lights would work and hazards would work.the steering was hard to turn the car was towed to a mechanic shop and I am awaiting a diagnosis. Earlier on April 16, I received a letter from Ford stating they would no longer host the vehicle health report system.

While driving my vehicle the service advancetrac warning light came on. My vehicle would not accelerate appropriately and then would not be in gear. I have taken it to the dealer and they replaced sensors etc. They have identified that the steering rack and pinion will need to be replaced. When I researched this I found that this is a common issue for this vehicle and that a recall had in fact been instituted for 2011 and newer models. This is a problem in vehicles from 2010 as well. There is no reason owners of 2010 models should have to pay the expense to fix this dangerous vehicle failure when new model owners do not. The part itself (for aftermarket) costs $1000.
