We just bought the car the day before and as my son backed it out of the driveway the car lost power. After turning the engine off and on again he was able to drive the car normally. The car was driven without any problems for about two weeks. But after about two weeks, the car was being driven at about 40mph when it suddenly lost power. After coasting to the side of the road and turning the engine off and on again it briefly regained power but the car went only about 100ft before losing power again. After letting the car sit for 20 minutes we were able to start it and drive the remaining half mile home. We had dismissed the first incident as possibly being a mistake on the part of my son driving an unfamiliar vehicle and perhaps not shifting properly when backing out of the driveway. But the second incident was clearly an indication of a failure on the part of the vehicle. It was not safe to drive. Although the problem was intermittent, a loss in power could happen at any time and could potentially leave us helpless without power in a dangerous situation. We had the car towed to a Ford dealer who determined that the problem was a bad throttle body. They replaced it at a cost to us of $537. A throttle body that fails at less than 100,000 miles is defective and should be recalled because of the safety issue.

I was driving down the interstate and I pushed the gas pedal but the car would not accelerate. This happened twice within 2 miles. I took the car to a local garage and they said it was the throttle body. I took the vehicle to my local Ford dealership and paid for it to be fixed because the car was no longer under warranty. Hopefully if there is a recall, I can get reimbursed for my repair bill.

My wife and son were in the car and had stopped at a busy 4-way stop intersection. With no prior warning the car started to shake and the check engine light and battery light came on. The power steering was barely working and the car stalled just past the intersection. They were able to restart the car, but the minute the car was put in drive it would start shaking etc.... we had to have the car towed back to van bortel Ford in East rochester NY for repairs. The dealership stated that we needed a new throttle body ($465.34) and a new battery ($123.90) on a 3 year old car. They indicated they new of a possible recall and told us to hang on to our receipt for a refund if the recall happens.

Pulled out into traffic and my car lost all acceleration and began to shudder when I got it to the shoulder. Turned it off, and back on: No issue. Less than 40 yards down the road it did it again. Took it to auto zone, the only code that came up was that my "fuel door stuck open". which is impossible, because it came with a "racing cap" I.e no twist-off cap. Drove fine for two months, then came back something awful to the tune of freeway 75mph to zero, at which point it went into "limp mode" and barely made it home due to numerous stalls. Just had to replace this defective throttle body on a 3-year old car. Ridiculous Ford. Also, my drivers' side interior door handle broke out of nowhere.

As I was driving on the interstate the car RPM jumped and the car proceeded to shake a bit. When I tried to give the car gas nothing happened. We had to pull off to the side of the road, when the car began to shake much harder. We were forced to turn the car off, wait a moment a turn the car back on. It has done this two us a couple of times while we wait for the part to come in.

We had just bought our 2010 Ford Fusion 10 days prior to this incident. I had just picked up my children from school and when I was leaving the school parking lot I had too come to a complete stop (which is on a downward slope) when trying to accelerate the car lost all power and had shut off, I had no control of course and rolled right in front of an oncoming school bus that was in other lane. The bus had to come to a complete stop to avoid hitting us. It cranked right back up but seemed a little sluggish. My little girl was screaming for me to turn (which I was trying but could do nothing) she was very upset and crying. It never showed any sign of problems before hand. I contacted the dealer we purchased it from and they said they could do nothing it was not a Ford dealer it was used when we bought it with 50000 miles. I contacted a Ford dealership and they said unless it showed a sign they could do nothing I have tried other mechanics and nothing. We did have throttle body checked and it was fine. We have had several incidents of it shutting off with no warning and it is a regular basis it seems to not want to go when I press the accelerator.it seems slow to respond. The shutting off of the car only seems to happen when im trying to take off from a stopped position then it will die right after it starts going. This makes me very nervous and not want to go anywhere. We haven't had it long so we cant get rid of it due to the negative we have in the car and cant afford higher pmt. I will never go with Ford again not saying that all are like this, but one bad apple can spoil them all for me.

I had just started and was exiting a retail establishment. I was driving down a slight incline approaching a stop light when the car started shaking and dramatically lost speed. The wrench light came on which according to the manual indicates a possible powertrain/transmission issue. I turned the car off and then restarted (in the middle of the road) and drove to a safe location. I was lucky that at the time I was driving at a slow speed and approaching a stop light. If a car had been behind me someone would have been injured.

Car loses power and stalls at city or highway speeds (have to pull over). Car shuts down when idling. Ford was contacted by our service center and we're told we need a new throttle body, but they are on back-order. There are at least 5000 orders ahead of us. Service person said he is not aware of a recall for this problem. Car was purchased new.

8/11/13 driving home after church, traveled approximately 1.5 miles when wrench light came on and vehicle lost power. No throttle response. Coasted off highway and after three cranking cycles it restarted with no lights activated. Drove next 15 miles home with no problem. 8/12/13 driving in town after approximately 1.5 miles the same thing occurred. After three cranking cycles it restarted and drove home with no lights. Plugged scanner in at home and found code on freeze frame of P2111 indicating throttle stuck open. Looked online in Ford Fusion forum and found several others with same issue. Ford indicates the throttle body needs replacing. I believe this a safety issue that Ford should recall and repair at no cost to the consumer. My 16 year old daughter drives this car and stalling in the middle of traffic or losing throttle response is not a safe situation for her to be in, especially if this occurs when pulling into traffic.

Driving down I-95 at 70mph when the throttle cut out. An amber wrench trouble light was illuminated on the right side of the instrument panel. Pulled of to the side of the hwy. Able to restart the car, but the engine cut out again about 2 miles down the road. Started up again and limped to a parking lot. This time the amber, check engine light was on. Called dealership and they said it sounded like a throttle body problem. I was able to limp home for 15 miles. Had to maintain the engine at 1500 RPM or below. As soon as I went above 1500 RPM, engine would cut out or start choking and had no throttle.

While driving to my brother-in-law's house my car abruptly shut off not allowing me to push in the gas at all. The rpms were at 1. I came to a rolling stop and shut the car off. I restarted the car an drove 1/4 mile further and the car did the same thing. Luckily my husband was with me and felt it happen, he was able to limp it to the closest Ford dealer where they told me my throttle body needed to be replaced at a ridiculous cost. My extended warranty does not cover this and after reading endless things about throttle bodies on Ford vehicles this seems to be a very common problem. I am so very thankful that my car didn't shut off on the interstate with my children in the car. I can only imagine what could have happened. I do not believe that the endless number of customers should have to pay for such a critical part of our vehicle to have to be replaced. In my opinion a recall should be in place because what is happening is not a simple problem, it is very dangerous.

I was driving on the highway at about 70 mph. The car suddenly shut down and started coasting. Pressing the gas pedal did nothing. The throttle control/transmission warning light came on. I coasted off of the highway and turned off my car. I turned the car back on, warning light was gone, car drove fine the rest of the way to my destination. Next morning the exact same thing happened. Stopped at an auto repair shop. They could not diagnose the problem. Got back on the highway and made it to my destination without incident.

I was at a stop at a railroad crossing. Upon applying the gas to go, I started to loose all power with the engine starting to shake, and the car seeming to stall, but limping along. Nothing happened as I pressed the gas pedal. I was able to pull the car over to the side of the road in a parking lot. The dashboard had a wrench light on. The car in the engine area was still vibrating and shaking, with no power but to limp along. I turned the car off. Waiting a few minutes and the car started up, but shaking an sputtering. I was able to drive the car to my job without any further problem. I called the Ford dealer and make an appointment for the following Monday. When going home, I drove at 30 miles per hour. The car lost all power two more times, stalling and limping along with the wrench lite on. I was able to get the car to the side of the road and it limped to my home. At this point, car was not safe to drive and the next day, aaa towed car from my driveway to Ford dealer. I mentioned the throttle body problem and dealer told me it would have to happen when they test drive in order to have part changed. They did give me a loaner and reported to me that car stalled out and lost power on their test drive. Throttle body part was changed and car has performed well since that time. $550 bill at Ford. This car was a death trap to drive with the throttle body defect.

I was going to a friends house. My car would not accelerate. The wrench light came on. If I pressed on the gas pedal the tact would move up but the car wouldn't. it was shaking. It was towed to the dealership and the throttle body was changed. Apparently the throttle body is a defective part that needs to be recalled. The dealer said that the part was on back order. Then later that day he got 8 new throttle bodies in. Seems like a problem if a little dealer like the one I go to has to have 8 throttle bodies in stock at a time. Prior to this I know realize my car had an issue from the beginning. When I would be traveling with the cruise control on going down hill, my car would down shift hard and the tact would go up very high. I would have to take off the cruise control. Also, when I put my car in drive or reverse from parked it would jump into gear. It has done this again since I had the throttle body changed. This is very upsetting. I've driven Ford all my life and career with Ford. I believe this is a terrible accident waiting to happen. I've read of a lot of owners of 2010 Fusion having the same problem when going 60-75 mph on a highway. Scary. Also, it seems the same problem has been reported in other makes of Ford vehicles.

The vehicle lost acceleration and stalled. Restarted and the condition recurred approximately in 3 or 4 miles. Again, I turned the key off then restarted and again, the condition repeated after several miles down the road. The car was taken to the Ford dealership the next day and no code was available for the mechanic to diagnose. The condition did not reoccur for six weeks and resurfaced again with identical symptoms. Returned the vehicle to the dealership where this time they affirmed the throttle body failure. The part is unavailable at this time because of high demand exhausted the availability of the unit.

I was driving on the highway at normal speed when the car acted as if it was not getting fuel connection. The car then started a jerking motion and I had to steer it off the road in order to get it out of the way of on moving traffic. I had to put the car in park and start it back up. This has happened several times since the first incident.
