I drove slowly up to an atm machine in a heavily trafficked parking lot, put the vehicle in park and took my foot off of the brake to begin a banking transaction, the vehicle began to roll backwards, the instrument panels was reading "reverse", the physical shifter was in park but the vehicle was rolling as though in neutral. I hit the brake which engaged eventually but it was difficult to apply. The shifter was locked in position and could not be moved. I let the vehicle coast to a close by parking spot and then applied the emergency brake, which worked fine. I attempted to shift the car from neutral to park so I could shut the vehicle off but I could not. Eventually, the vehicle battery died from auxilliary power being on so long without any way to turn the vehicle off. It was towed to the nearest dealership. There is a known recall for the same year, make and model of this vehicle for this particular issue, 18V471, but my particular VIN is not included somehow.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while stationary, after the vehicle was shifted into park however, the vehicle started to roll away. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to gene messer Ford lubbock (6000 19th St, lubbock, tx 79407, (806) 793-2727) where it was diagnosed with needing shifter cable to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.

I have purchased a new vehicle from them since. They have told me that I do not need to do the recall. I am worried about the safety of my family and I.

I was getting ready to leave to work my car has been parked outside my house I got in tried starting it and dont want to turn on I took it to autozone to have battery checked and battery is good it will start if I get a jump I called my mechanic and he says it could be my alternator I dont see how I barley got the car I seen that there was some issues with the alternator on my car

When traveling on the freeway at 60mph and I take my foot off the accelerator the transmission does not down shift or slow down. A strange sound can be heard until I press on the brakes. The rear passenger seat belt does not retract sometimes.. there is a strange sound when turning the steering wheel.

Car does not move in selected gear. First incident: The car was put into drive but the car moved in reverse. It was taken to a Ford dealership for recall 19S16 which describes exactly these symptoms. Shortly after the recall service, the second incident: Car was put into park but moved in reverse and hit another car. It was returned to the Ford dealership again and they reported back that nothing was wrong with the car. The recall procedure clearly did not resolve the issue. And to make matters worse the dealership Suburban Ford of waterford mi is charging me for the diagnostic.

I was pulling out across two lanes of traffic on a flat city street going approximately 15 mph, and as I was holding the wheel, maintaining my drive line, the steering dropped out and I was rotating the wheel left and right desperate for the steering wheel to grab control again. It finally regained some control but the steering is not consistent, it doesnt seem like, its in constant control of the vehicle, almost like its shorting out.

The transmission upshifts very hard. So hard it throws driver and passenger(s) backwards.this is most pronounced at speeds less than 30 mph when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd. Periodically, it also shifts very hard from 5th to 6th at constant speeds between 45 and 55. This presents a safety concern as it is hard and abrupt causing a startling scare and a reaction that can cause a momentary loss of steering control.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while attempting to reverse out of the garage the vehicle failed to failed to shift into reverse. The contact attempted to shift back into park however, the vehicle failed to shift into park. The vehicle was turned off and restarted however, the failure persisted. The parking brakes was activated and the gear shifter was manually shifted from reverse to park. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 18V471000 (power train) as a possible solution to the failure however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 143,000.

The bushing that attaches the transmission shifter cable to the transmission degrade and cause the bushing to detach from the transmission. It let me move the shift lever to park and remove the ignition key, while the transmission may not be in park, with no warning message or audible chime. I almost could not stop the car and ran into a building. There is already a known recall for this vehicle but my VIN is not included.

Car has 60K miles. Losing coolant no leak. Didn't start one day. Firestone couldn't find the problem. Had my car towed to baytown Ford. After a week and a $800 authorization to open the engine only. Next day I was told I need a new engine. $6K. My question was what caused the engine failure, and how can I be sure the new engine wont have the same problem. My oil changes are regular. Mobil 1 oil and filter. I was told the sludge in my engine was because I had a aftermarket oil filter not a motorcraft filter. Not in writing. I knew better and after some research I found a plethora if other owners has had the exact same problem. My car is my key to providing for my family and I dont have $6K for a manufacturer defect. Car has also cut off while my wife was driving but cranked immediately.

Internal transmission problems after purchase and driving 2016 Ford Fusion for 7 months. Vehicle had been stationary for hours as I was leaving home for work. After starting the car and putting gear shift into reverse there was a hard jerking of the engine. The car reversed very slowly out of the driveway. As I shifted into drive gear engine jerked really hard once again and car began to hesitate acceleration. Car slowly accelerated but would not drive over 30 mph

The contact contacted an independent mechanic who went to the vehicle location and informed the contact the bushing fractured from the transmission shift cable. The mechanic was able to connect the part for a short period of time. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic and to riser harness Ford (2000 E. race ave, searcy, ar 72143, (501) 268-2486) and the contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not included.

My transmission has been rebuilt twice in a one year,15,000mile span. The transmission shifts hard from park to drive, and drive to park even after being replaced both times. The transmission slams after letting off of the fuel pedal and in between lower 3-4 gears while driving. I purchased my 2016 Fusion at mike bass Ford on 6/15/2019 with 29000 miles. As of today 12/02/2020 I only have 44,000 miles on it. Ford will not replace the transmission, they only overhaul the transmission so the same problems keep returning. The fuel pedal on multiple occasions when pressed does not engage the car to move for multiple seconds when driving. Also when shifting at a stand still from drive to reverse, and reverse to drive the car on multiple occasions does not accelerate for multiple seconds either. Which is very dangerous with me my wife and kids in the car.

Parked my car at work. Put my car in park but it stays in reverse, will not move with presser on the brake, lets me turn if off but now I cant turn it back on or shift. Has to have emergency break on to not roll. There is a recall but was told my VIN number does not have this recall.

My vehicle would not shift into drive (Ford Fusion 2016 2L 5speed automatic). It shuddered and crawled forward but the transmission would not engage. I braked to a stop put it park and the car was still shuddering. I turned ignition off and attempted to restart engine and engage from park to drive. It did not shift to drive but shuddered. I had to repeat this process 4-5 times and then it finally moved from park to drive and drove somewhat normal 1 day prior the car was jerky as it engaged. This jerky behavior of the transmission at low speeds I was experiencing yesterday returned. The car became driveable but now a I am very supsect and I cannot find a recall for this issue that matches my VIN number. Eventhough many Ford Fusion made during the same year as mine have experienced this issue

With no warning I started my car and went to put it in drive and the shifter would move but not go into gear. It felt like the shifter was not attached to anything. Luckily the car was stuck in park, if this would have happened while driving it could of resulted in an accident or worse injuries. I was told there was a recall for this, checked my VIN and it did not show it as an active recall. I contacted my local Ford dealership and they did exactly what I did and run the VIN number telling me my car was not part of the original recall. I don't understand why one car is part of a recall but another is not. I had to pay for my car to be towed and now repaired due to faulty parts by Ford!
