The check engine light came on in my vehicle and it was idling rough so I took it by autozone to get the diagnostic check. It showed P0300, cylinder misfire. I took my vehicle to the Ford dealership but the check engine light had gone off so they changed the spark plugs thinking this would fix it. A few days later, the same thing happened, with the addition of white smoke coming out of the exhaust, while idling. When I took it in the second time, the light was not on anymore and it wasn't smoking. They couldn't replicate the problem. About a week later, when I started the vehicle, it idled rough and then died. When I started it back up, the check engine light was on again and white smoke was coming from the back of the vehicle. When I started driving, on a city street, white smoke began billowing from the exhaust. The smoke was so thick that I couldn't see anything behind me. I immediately called the Ford dealership and made an appointment to get it looked at again. This time they informed me that coolant was leaking into one of the cylinders and that I would need a new engine and it was going to cost $7,300. My car has been in the shop now for almost two weeks waiting for the extended warranty company to make a decision on whether or not they will pay for the repair. Tsb 19-2346 addresses the issue but the vehicle owner still has to pay for the repair if they don't have a warranty or it doesn't cover it. The first incident was on 7/22/20 and the final incident was on 8/14/20.

On Monday 08/10/2020 park my vehicle in the morning and then came back to the car in the afternoon. It had started and was able to move the shifter but with no result from the transmission and no gear indication on display. Vehicle had to be towed and taken to a Ford dealership the next day. Advised that the shifter cable was broken and needs to be replace. Was informed that my car was ready for pick up on Friday 08/15/2020. On Monday 08/17/2020 had taken vehicle back to the dealership to adjust shifter cable linkage because the shifter was found that it could accidentally shift into neutral from drive with the smallest amount of pressure. Dealership verified that cable shifter required adjustment. On Thursday 08/20/2020 vehicle was completely repaired by Ford dealership.

Stopped car. Shifted into park, but car rolls. Will not shift into any gear. Will not start. Towed to hilbish Ford in kannapolis, nc. Dealer says it is the shifter cable bushing. Google search reveals that Ford has recalled Ford Fusion model years 2014-2016 for this same exact problem, yet the dealership says my car is not included in the recall and are charging me over $300 for repairs.

I have had my car for only 3 months now. Absolutely no signs that anything was bad or starting to go out. I was driving with my daughter leaving the bank and my car dies in the middle of the rd in a curve!!! the wrench tool light pops up and says see owner manual/ in the manual this indicates a power train/ AWD problem. The car when started idles very rough and doesn't want to accelerate. I have read other complaints that is exactly like mine with the 2016 Ford Fusion. I am a single mom of 4 and only have this car. I am getting it to a mechanic to see what shows up. From what I have seen on other complaints it has to do with failure of the throttle body sensor! had someone been behind me we could've been hit due to the car stalling in the rd! luckily I was going down hill and was able to coast onto a side road!! thank god! many other cars the same as mine are experiencing this! please investigate this problem and recall the parts associated with it!! this is extremely dangerous especially where I live( mountains) with winding roads and less visibility for a car behind me if I stall out in a curve like I did today! I was driving on a secondary road when this happened, near the main road.

My 2016 Ford Fusion titanium rolled away from where it was parked on a flat concrete surface. It went down the driveway, across the street, and approximately 30 to 40 feet into a wooden area before trees stopped it. The car needs the key in close enough proximity to start. The key was in my purse in my house. The car, when on, needs to have the brake compressed to take it from park to drive or park to reverse or park to any other gear. So, no key. No compressed brake. No manual change of gears. Yet, it still rolled away. Something happened with the gear shifter. You don't have to have the key in or by the car. It doesn't have to be started. You don't have to have your foot on the brake. And it goes out of park to any other gear. No key. Not on. No brake. I had the nc highway patrol come and the officer did a report. I have contacted my insurance company.

I was at the gas station when I got out of my car after turning it off while I went inside to pay. I was moving swiftly because I had to get back to work. I looked outside and my car had rolled away from the pump, nearly in the city street before I reached it. I immediately ran outside after it, hopped in & put my foot on the brake. I was confused when I saw the gear still in park.. it was then that I looked at the dash and saw it was stuck in neutral. Some guys helped me push it back to the pump and I had to put the parking brake on in order to keep it from rolling again. A nearby mechanic looked under my hood and discovered that the 'shifter cable bushing' had degraded. I called Ford and set up an appointment. The problem was still not fixed

At random times when the car is departing on city streets or highway, the car would stop shifting out of second gear. I would manually shift it to neutral then back to drive and it would drive normal through the first gear then shift to second gear and stay in second gear until I stop and repeat the process, first gear then second gear then stuck and repeat. No one has been able to find out what's wrong with my car's drivetrain system. Multiple certified mechanics have informed me to contact Ford for recalls on this car's powertrain system however Ford says they have no recalls on this model. This seems like a manufacturing defect and is a very dangerous problem since it happens unexpectedly at random time.

Electronic warning that the power steering is no longer functioning property, epa light flashing on and off, and stated that there was an issue with the rear park aid. My car has less than 30K miles and it happened multiple times driving both locally and highway miles. Typically will occur after driving for more than 5 minutes, problem can be fixed by putting vehicle in drive and rotating wheel all the way in both directions and then restarting vehicle. Problems is recurring though and has happened multiple times in the past 3 weeks. Problem causes steering wheel to become extremely difficult to turn and leads to issues maneuvering the vehicle. Very dangerous especially when trying to make any turns. I am bringing my car into be serviced tomorrow as it is very dangerous to drive, will have further documentation after that.
