So I bought a 2016 Ford Fusion SE and about two weeks later after just booking a hotel room went to move my Fusion to a closer parking spot and as soon as I started it the left side of the screen above steering wheel showed a box that read " steering assist fault service required". and there was no power steering at all. It also reads service advance track, and uphill parking assist unavailable.

As I was driving my back right passenger door kept saying it was open.so as I came to a stop I check it out. It seemed closed so I continued to drive. Then it notified me again but this time the door opened. So I had to pull over and close it, but the door did not close. I attempted to try several ways but did not work. I am thank full I didn't have my dogs in the car at the time. Its a huge safety flaw. The car wont let me lock it since the door wont close, and the car is parked on the street. I don't have a private garage. Highly upset at the flaw. Hopefully it wont cost a fortune since Ford will probably say it's not covered.

At random times when the car is departing on city streets or highway, the car would stop shifting out of second gear. I would manually shift it to neutral then back to drive and it would drive normal through the first gear then shift to second gear and stay in second gear until I stop and repeat the process, first gear then second gear then stuck and repeat. No one has been able to find out what's wrong with my car's drivetrain system. Multiple certified mechanics have informed me to contact Ford for recalls on this car's powertrain system however Ford says they have no recalls on this model. This seems like a manufacturing defect and is a very dangerous problem since it happens unexpectedly at random time.

As I was driving my car locked up and I had to hard break. I took it into the shop and they said it was a wiring issue and not covered under warranty. They couldn't explain why it would happen and suggested I placed something heavy on my passenger dash. It sounds similar to another recall I saw but my car is not listed as needing that.

After turning off the vehicle, it would not go into park. Several attempts were made and still, the vehicle would not go into park. I tried moving the vehicle to a different parking stall and again, it would not go into park. The vehicle kept rolling. Other patrons were trying to help me to keep my vehicle from rolling in order to avoid hitting other parked cars and pedestrians. I ended up having to call for a tow truck to have my vehicle towed. I was advised from auto masters in derby, ks that the gear shift cable was broken as well as the shifter assembly. Both parts had to be ordered from Ford. After I spoke with a mechanic and a family member I was advised to look further into this to see if there was a recall problem on my vehicle. I had my vehicle fixed and turned in my invoice to Ford. They are now denying my claim. They are saying that they are not totally at fault. This is a huge safety issue. Thank you for your assistance and time for looking into this for me.

The high pressure fuel pump and sensor went bad after 81000 miles. The car had a whining sound when the gas pedal was depressed. The car sputtered while accelerating. The car lost propulsion at highway speeds.

About a year ago the vehicle would just stop for no reason. The check engine light would come on occasionally and it said it was the fuel sensor. Sometimes the car would completely shut down when accelerating or at highway speeds. Took the vehicle in for repairs on October 17, 2019 and the issue was resolved. Now, a few months later, the same thing is happening. Consumer replaced the fuel pump on 05/29/20 and since then has recurred 2 more times, unable to accelerate.

Vehicle was purchased brand new and within 9 months the motherboard crashed and had to be replaced. Since that, the car has turned off while stopped at a stoplight (vehicle was in drive and at complete stop), bluetooth does not connect at times, radio turns on and off, ac/heat turn on and off and the display blinks. There is a noise in the floorboard where the motherboard was replaced and was told there is nothing they can do about it and there are no issues with the system. A recall was issued for lug nuts in 2019 and all were replaced. When asked if they could be replaced with a different type, was told no, they would be replaced with the same ones - that were recalled. Since the replacement, those lug nuts have swelled and had to be taken to the dealership for removal. 3 were unable to removed and was told there was nothing more they could do.

Hi, I won the Ford Fusion car in iaai website and the car to be shipped to azerbaijan. I can see that car had recalled 3 times and status states imcomplate. Carfax data states the car totally lost. My question is has the recall been done on this vehicle or? could I do recalls in baku(azerbaijan's capital) Ford dealer(service) with free of charge? an example of recall number is 18S08. Thanks a lot

Air bag sensor came on and will not go off. It isn't working properly. The airbag sensor light comes on and stays on, regardless if there is a person in the seat or not. Passenger air bag seems to be showing off all the time. I'm concerned that they aren't working properly.

Last week I pulled into work put my car into park let up on the brake and the car kept moving forward. I then pushed on the brakes again thinking I did something wrong looked down car was still in park. Let off the brakes again and the car continued to move forward. I had to have the car towed to a shop where they found that a piece on the shifter linkage had broke but it was part of a full assembly. Therefore with labor and the part it was almost $500 to repair. My concern was I almost hit our company fence! I have poured through other recalls and came across this same issue. But you continue to say that my car was not effected in the recall.

There has been an incomplete safety recall concern for my 2016 for Fusion since May. I was notified in may of an issue in which transmission gear shifters could possibly malfunction and cause gears not to shift properly. Today I hopped into my car and my car is completely stuck in park and will not shift gears. The car will not move. I can move the knob but nothing happens. I expect this issue to be handled for me with no out of pocket costs due to the fact that it was already a know issue the Ford has failed to rectify.

When driving my vehicle it will shake and stall and then cut off without warning and I'll have to put it in park and then it will start right back up. It's very dangerous especially since it doesn't warn you. It happens when you're driving anywhere, on highway or street.

I drive a 2016 Ford Fusion SE AWD with the 2.0L ecoboost/gtdi motor. I was at a gas station refueling my vehicle, with the 87 octane fuel the oem calls for on the vehicle. I was about 1/4 tank before refueling and I filled my tank until full. Upon starting my car, I always turn the key right before ignition and wait for the fuel pumps to draw gas to the motor, then start it. Started seemingly fine, however, while I was resetting my mileage trip counters, I noticed, and felt my RPM's drop down into the 300-400 area and my motor shook my car. I kind of was surprised as my car had never done this, so I figured maybe it was just an engine stutter. But then upon waiting a few more seconds, it did it again, 4 more times and felt like my motor was ready to stall out. I was still parked/stationary beside a gas pump so I put the car in drive to go park myself in an actual spot so I wasn't in the way of other vehicles. I kept my car running in park to see if the RPM's would drop again, but upon waiting five minutes, it did not. The RPM's were a bit wobbly though on the tachometer but did not significantly drop. No lights on the dash came on. I wasn't taking any chances, I immediately called the dealership to have my car serviced. Turns out, my canister purge valve was stuck in the open position. Sounds all too familiar, accounting that Ford issued a recall for the exact same issue with many Ford Focus models, with the exact same motor. This is a serious issue that can result in crash/injury or even death. No light came on for me and I only caught it because I was superstitious enough to bring it in regardless. This should be investigated, it is literally the same issue and I'm baffled as to how his hasn't been made into a recall by now. I know I'm not the only one who has faced this issue, so please, I ask for this to be investigated and deemed a recall as it's a big issue.

When driving on city streets, the Ford Fusion jerks hard and sputters when it changes gears (automatic transmission). When accelerating on the highway the vehicle will jerk hard upon pressing down on the gas pedal. During deceleration, when exiting the highway, from speeds of 70 mph to 35 mph, the vehicle will also sputter and jerk from the gears changing. The vehicle was taken in to a Ford Motor Company service department and no repairs were conducted due to an "inability of the technician to replicate the symptoms of the car."

I have a 2016 Ford Fusion that is under a recall but my VIN number is not. I was backing my car in to parking space I went to change gears to drive and it went into neutral and now my car is stuck in neutral on the dash the transmission is actually in neutral, but the gear shifter is in park. Now it will not move from park at all and the transmission is still in neutral and I had to apply the the emergency brake I can physically turn my ignition off and remove the key. I had no warning or anything on my dashboard.
