Vehicle was reflecting in park on the shifter, but the car was still in drive and rolling while in a fast food drive thru. The shifter got locked eventually in park but car was still moving. Had it towed and then car wouldn't start due to shifter being locked. Bushings around transmission shifter were broken. On second occassion went to start car and would not start due to bushings on transmission being broken. Manufacturer recall 18S20 NHTSA recall # 18V471. Ford has refused to reimburse me or fix this issue. It has cost over $300 in unplanned expenses as well as safety issues. Can provide documentation upon request

After turning the car on and starting to drive, the car randomly will start to lose power. The car will then just stop moving. The car ignition will still be in the on position and in drive gear. It doesn't do it all the time randomly throughout the day. It sometimes will have cut the power off to preserve power and then cut off after the car starts to slow down.

While on a hill I came to a stop and put my car into the park position. My car strated to roll down hill after I put the car in park. I could not remove the key or move the shift out of park. I had to engage the emergency break to stop the car from rolling. I had to call for a tow and the after my mechanic looked for the problem he found that the shift linkage bushing was missing and the cable had disengaged. After calling the Ford Motor Company they said there is a recall for this problem (recall # 18S20) but my car is not on the list for repair. The recall is for 2013-2016 Ford Fusion SE which my car is in this group.

Takata recall: My ignition key switch was broke making it to where I could remove my key with the car running finally one day my ignition switch locked up costing me $1023.64 because I was forced to buy 2 keys through Ford which where $250 an piece then the ignition part being $30 the rest was in labor. I was told there was no recall on the part and also told the dealer wasn't responsible for a part that was broke when they sold me the vehicle to begin with. The vehicle thankfully had this issue when I was at a gas station and car not running this issue could have been much worse for me and those around me if I was going somewhere.

Backed out of driveway on a main road and put car in drive but it kept rolling backwards put my foot on the brake and put it in park but it still rolled back after several tries to change gears and it did not come out of reverse I put the car in park and cut it off and it would not crank. After having it checked I learned that the transmission gear shift cable had come off causing the car not to change gears

Stranded because shifter cable broke. I had to drive a rental car home from Ohio.I was able to bypass the shifter cable to get home and not take the car out of gear. I had kids in the car and the weather was 103 degrees. The car would not go into gear for me to start and put the air on. Kids were really hot and I have to get the car towed to a dealer. Now the dealership is telling me that I have to pay to have the vehicle repaired until the revised parts come in. I should not have to pay for this. Car wont start, because the car doesnt know it is in park.

Car started throwing me forward when U accelerated had a small fender bender.. it would have a hard kick as if someone hit me from behind. Then it stop working wouldn't go into drive after it was in park it went in reverse almost hit someone behind me.. then Ford roadside never showed up. Ford lost my car no one could find it... tow company never took it to the dealer and when I got there for my rental the upervisor laughed and dismissed my concerns even after I was in tears from the trama if the day and night prior. I was promised a rental so I could go to work and was denied it bc the car hadn't arrived. Meanwhile roadside assistance couldn't find where my car was. Online it said it was picked up and taken to dealer.. I was so frustrated and disappointed with the chaos. No one was helping to resolve the issue and I was late to work and my child's car seat was in the lost car. I was in tears and panic because of the stress of it all. I had to ask the GM at jim tidwell to help with a rental and was being charged 380$ for 1 day rental. I was still under warranty since car is new. I am so disappointed in the insensitive and dismissive behavior by all the men who I spoke to. It's been 3 weeks and I know nothing besides car finally arrive after being impounded in South atlanta. I do not feel safe in the car nor do U want to continue as a customer with Ford.

Does anything actually happen when someone files a complaint with NHTSA" I submitted a complaint for a recall repair rembursment and was supposed to get a confirmation email but never did. My problem is my 2016 Ford Fusion has 2 recalls on it....I only found out about them when mine broke and I called the Ford corporate office that's when they told me to take my car to a Ford dealership and they would repair both recalls free of charge parts and labor...so that's what I did, however when I went to pick up my car they would not release it without making me pay $570.69 or they would hold my car hostage and put in my file that I refused the repair and would be financially responsible for any recalls on the car going forward. I called the corporate office again and they said they would escalate the issue to lithia and would take 6 to 8 weeks to get my money back. I just spoke to lithia and they said Ford denied that it was even a recall...which it is, the recall number is 18S20 which is exactly what broke....so I wont ever get my money back for a problem I had nothing to do with creating. So now here I am... Ford wont pay me back and neither will lithia Ford fresno ca 93710 so what is a consumer of a pos car supposed to do"!

There are 2 recalls on my car the mileage is 59000 and the shifter cable is the problem right now there is also a recall on the steering wheel. Apparently the whole [xxx] thing can fall off while driving....the only way I found out about the shifter cable is because mine broke...no notice was sent out and the reason for it and that is because they havent created a stupid bushing that wont break, the shifter is in park but the transmission is in neutral....I had to have the car towed home. Then the Ford corporate office told me of the recall...they also said there is no part issued yet even tho all 2013 to 2017 models have the same problem. Ford told me I would have to pay nothing because it's a recall. I took my car to lithia Ford in fresno ca because corporate instructed me to take it there and that was when they told me I would have to pay $580 out of pocket and will get reimbursed when Ford issues the right part...its been over 4 years and they still havent issued the right part so how long will it be till I get my money back"!"! if I get my money back, for a problem that is nowhere near my fault, lithia can fix it now but with the same part that just broke. They also said if I dont pay the $580 they would put in my file that I refused the repair for the recall and be completely responsible for all charges regarding the recalls...even tho I already am. I have never heard of a consumer having to pay out of pocket for a faulty part put in a new car! this cant be legal. I sent this to Ford company: Dear [xxx], I would like to address about my 2016 Ford Fusion problem that happened yesterday, July 4, 2018. I was driving from my grocery shopping when all of a sudden my car will not accelerate anymore and it was sliding backward. Not sure if sliding backwards was due to slightly uphill or another problem on top of car wouldn"T drive anymore. On my dashboard a wrench drawing appeared with a message ?refer to your manual?. this happened at the intersection of redwood pkwy and oakwood in vallejo ca. This was very dangerous. I put the car on park ?P" turned off the ignition and set the E-break with my lights hazard on. I had to call 911 to avoid accident. They sent a police patrol to escort me while my car is blocking the traffic. You see my car was bought brand new and only have less than 5K mileage. This kind of problem should not happened. I googled 2016 Fusion to see common problems and this is one of them. Your company must be aware of this, yet, it continue to happen. I hope Ford is not waiting for somebody to perish before taking actions, I had my car brought to Ford Lincoln fairfield ca. I am a single earner and starting today I have to take uber to get to park and ride since this is the only car I have. I want action from your company pertaining to this kind of problem. Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Car has broken down 3 times and has only 38000 miles on it. I have been without a car for a month because Ford can not figure out what is wrong with it. First time it was supposedly the catalytic converter which they replaced. Second time they tried to say that the part was bad so they replaced it again. It is again in the shop undergoing diagnosis. It has completely stopped/lost acceleration and turned off completely three separate times all while driving on the freeway. Ford Consumer Affairs is not addressing the situation at all. I have read that this is a common problem. It needs to be investigated so people aren't killed. Repair documentation is available if needed. Dates of breakdowns are 6/3/18, 6/10/18 and 7/2/18.

Similar to issues others were having with the throttle control placing the car into "limp" mode, it would appear that this is what happened yesterday as my wife was driving the car on a major highway near pittsburgh (376 West, near the split of 79 North/South) with me in the passenger seat, and three kids under the age of 9 in the back seat. Without warning, the car seemingly shut off or "throttled down" and began to shimmy and shake, losing most of its functionality. We were forced to pull to the side of the road, which we barely did, with vehicles speeding past at 4 lane highway speeds. The following day, I contacted Ford and explained the situation but was not told anything about this systemic issue. It was not until I discovered the issue on my own, that I learned about the fact that Ford has not issued a recall for the electronic throttle body control but instead a "customer satisfaction program" which was not communicated to me, to the best of my knowledge, until after we nearly lost our lives and I had to have the car towed. This issue is going to get someone killed (if it has not already happened) and it would appear that Ford fails to appreciate it. My vehicle has just over 18,000 miles on it. I own 2 Ford vehicles but won't be buying another.
