Primary concern: Car loses all propulsion and goes into accesory mode when accelerating. I, as well as several others with 2017 Ford Fusion sport models, have lost total power while leaving red lights, stop signs, and worst of all, merging onto the highway. My car died under normal acceleration while attempting to merge on the highway, and while pulling away from a stop sign, on two different occasions, months apart from each other. A member of our facebook group of Fusion sport owners captured his car lose all power, on video, and his car is being bought back by Ford, but that is not enough. These cars, although fun and enjoyable, pose a serious threat to not only the owners of the car, but also to other drivers on the road who could hit us from behind, injuring of killing passengers in either vehicle, or vehicles nearby. I was backing out of my driveway and the car did not go more than 10 feet backwards when the whole system shut down and had to restart. It took more than 10 minutes to restart and it took 3-4 times of putting on the brake and pushing the start button before the system would re-initiate. This was the second time the car had done this and the whole system and to re-start. I took it to the Ford dealership in upland, ca and they did a system/charging circuits-charge-test and nothing came from the test. The car is still under warranty but since they did not find anything it cost me $ 95.

The contact was driving a 2017 Ford Fusion. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle lost power. There were no warning indicators illuminated prior to the failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer (autonation Ford white bear lake, 1493 co rd E East, white bear lake, mn 55110) where it was awaiting diagnostic testing and repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,600.

Car was accelerating on the highway at about 50 mph and out of no where car shifts very hard and all power is lost. Had to limp to the side of the highway and shut it off. This was very dangerous. After a restart it seemed to act fine until today when the same thing happened on a local road at about 20 mph.

Driving on road roughly 40 mph and vehicle completely lost power. Car lost power and started slowing down. Error message on the dash "full accessory power active:. needed to immediately pull off to the right of the road in order to avoid traffic. This is a serious issue.

Owner went to pass another vehicle at speed and used the cars "sport mode". when owner enabled sport mode car sputtered and lost majority of power and displayed a "see manual" light. Owner drove car to jordan Ford of san antonio where the presented him with code P0234 for turbocharger overboosting. Dealership reset cars computer and did nothing else.

Car is a 2017 Ford Fusion sport 2.7L ecoboost car stalled randomly. Drove for about 20 minutes prior to stalling. Was stopped at a busy intersection on a city street about to make a left hand turn, the car stalled and went into full accessory mode. Started the car back up afterwards with no problems. Car has 8500 miles on it. A car stalling while in drive is unsafe in the case of being on train tracks, stalling could be fatal. Can not be replicated and no codes thrown. With no codes, dealer has no idea what the issue could be. Several others (car experts, some ase certified) state camshaft position sensor could be the fault.

Have had car for just one year 18676 miles and it has turned off randomly 3 times during this time. Randomly under light driving conditions while making a turn the car looses power and when you look at the dash it says full accessory like you just pushed the button with out touching the brake to start. Once coasted to a safe location you can restart the car and everything runs fine. No codes are logged when this issue occurs. This could be a serious issue as you have no warning when it happens and it leaves the car without power.

Upon decelerating, my car stalled in traffic. I was driving on a Suburban city street at approx. 35 mph, and decelerated to a complete stop. Upon pressing the gas to start going again, I noticed the engine had shut off. This is extremely unsafe, as a car that loses power while driving could cause a crash. I have taken my car to the dealership for inspection.

In July 2017 I purchased a 2017 Ford Fusion sport with the 2.7 V6 within 300 miles the vehicle stalled on a hill and the car started to roll backwards. I made an appointment and brought the car into the dealership I bought it from. They scanned the car and no codes came up and said there is nothing they can do without a code. I took the car and continued to drive it. It stalled several more times, brought it in again and no codes. They told me Ford would not approve any repairs on this vehicle without having a code and a confirmed issue. I've been driving around in a death trap that could kill myself or someone else and Ford won't help. I found on an online group other people have had this issue and have not gotten it resolved by Ford. There are other issues with this vehicle to. But the stalling is unacceptable. The lemon law for my state says I must let have the chance to fix the car to qualify but the is no trace left behind after stalling therefore Ford has nothing to repair. This vehicle is not safe to drive. Do not buy!

I purchased this car on 8/31/16 and on 11/28/16 the dreaded dead battery problems started. I took in it, they replaced the battery on 11/28 said that it was probably just a faulty battery from the manufacture and that it happens, rarely but it happens. On 12/31/17 I went to start my car and it again would not start. Each time that this has happened, I have to manually unlock my car by taking off a piece of the door handle to expose the key hole and the dome lights or dash lights do not come on, that's my dead giveaway that it wont start. When I took it to the shop this time they informed me that the car was manufactured on 8/1/16 and sat too long without being driven so it caused the battery to mess up(even though I had the battery replaced a month earlier, and drive every single day to work). I got the car back and I bet you cant guess what happened on 2/4/17... my car was dead. Wouldn't start, wouldn't unlock... dead. This time they we're "99.9% sure" they fixed the problem by updating my power train control module. They hadn't, it died again on 5/22/17. When I took it in, they updated the powertrain control module and sent me on my way, so I'm just waiting for it to die again honestly. Then... I told them my transmission is slipping on 5/22/17- they ignored it when doing updates and it wasn't resolved. On 6/13/17 I took it in because the transmission was still slipping so they updated the powertrain control module again... didn't fix it(obviously) and then on 6/22/17 I took it in because I almost got into an accident due to the transmission slipping and sliding my car into oncoming traffic trying to shirt gears(its automatic) and they replaced a pressure valve, not sure why you would need to replace a part like that on a brand new car anyway, but the transmission still acts up.

Was driving in a parking lot, between 5-10 mph when the car clicked loudly. I lost steering and brakes, and came to a sudden stop. The engine had turned off, the car had put itself into park, and the instrument panel went back as if I had opened the door with the car shut off.

My car, with 2K miles, would not start (push button start, this is the plug-in hybrid "energi" model). After being towed to a dealer, they had to tear the car apart to find a bad wiring harness as part of the hybrid system. This part was unavailable, and I am having to wait over 5 days to have the car repaired. In addition, the manufacturer has not provided any alternate transportation and instead tried to get me to buy an extended warranty. Horrible customer support from Ford. This is a safety fix, and the car itself just wouldn't run. To not take care of the customer or have the ability to quickly get a part is unacceptable. Wiring harnesses should not fail in 5 weeks and 2K miles. The car drove one mile, then would not restart. It only complained to "get off the road soon". a failure of what should be a very basic part at 2K miles is concerning, not to mention the inability of Ford to repair it in quick fashion. This does make me wonder if the problem is more widespread and so parts are hard to come by.
