Mustang Eco Boost 2.3L

Well Ford really made a mess with these engines, defective block design causing head gasket sealing impossible on some of these EcoBoost 2.3 engines. Misfire on #3 cylinder and low coolant, have pics of the leak with a bore scope, very clear pic of the leak. Ford dealer says they never heard of this as a problem!!!! LIES!!!! 2 choices at this stage of the game since its out of factory warranty and out of the ford extended warranty we bought for 4 grand, car was 6 yrs old with 50,000 miles on it. Stock daily driver for my wife, no modifications or drag racing in its history, replace head gasket at 4500,00 and no warrantee or replace long block with a newly designed ford engine with a 2 year warrantee.

They did redesign the blocks due to high failure rates but didn't admit it!!! We chose to do the new long block for 8500.00 dollars, couldn't put in the amount as the form said the amount was too high!!! So now we have a new long block installed and is running ok at this time, have 7000 miles on the new engine. Ford really stiffed those of us that have to pay crazy money to keep our mustang operational due to a flawed design that's been a problem for years in other vehicles, they had recalls on same engines in other vehicles. Come on Ford step up to the plate stop playing games, unless you really dont care if you lose future sales cuz i am not buying another ford product due to this BAD experience, I'm not the only one either, theres a bunch of people out there with the same problem.

Mustang Ecoboost 2.3

Just a year and a half after the headgasket was replaced its running poorly again. Ford dealer told us its "Just spark plugs" and didn't say anything about why its loosing coolant and shaking hard. I do not understand how a car only has 56k and has had transmission problems and multiple engine problems when its been taken care of and drove normally, not driven hard. Lots of EcoBoost cars at the service center when we dropped the car off.

Mustang Ecoboost 2.3L

I bought a new 2018 Ford Mustang, it is all stock and is my daily driver. I have always done full synthetic oil changes and have done all the maintenance required. I don't drive it hard at all. Recently, I have began getting cold start misfires and codes P0300 and P0301 misfire of cylinder 2. Coolant has gone down and after using a pressure test and looking into the cylinders with a boroscope, there is coolant in cylinder 2 which is an indication of a blown head gasket or even block.

This seems to be a common issue with all other ecoboost engines and there's been a class action lawsuit that does not include the ecoboost Mustang, but it should because so many owners have experienced this same issue. All you have to do is look on youtube or ecoboost mustang forums where they have complained about cold start misfires and then coolant leaks beginning in cylinder 2 and needing a new engine or head gasket. It is not right that the original battery is outliving the engine and I will need to spend thousands for a head gasket and possibly new engine block. Ford should be held accountable for this and do a recall.

Mustang Ecoboost 2.3

Car was purchased brand new, with the oil changed before 5 thousand miles, every time with full synthetic oil. Driven by a middle aged women so it was never driven hard. The engine started running rough when first started and progressively got worse. It started misfiring on multiple cylinders and dealer diagnosed it as a blown head gasket. The car runs significantly better after the head gasket replacement, but still runs rough.
