The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. While driving 65 mph on a wet surface, the accelerator pedal was depressed and failed to respond without warning. The accelerator pedal was depressed to the floorboard and a knocking sound emitted from the vehicle. The vehicle independently shifted into first gear. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the main wiring needed to be wrapped with reflective tape. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the rear passenger side cargo doors failed to latch properly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed nor repaired. While driving at various speeds, the traction control warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure was unable to be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,000.
