The contact owned a 2005 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH and attempting to pass a vehicle on the right lane of the road, the vehicle lost power steering functionality and pulled to the left side of the road and towards the median. The contact did not recall whether a warning light was illuminated. The vehicle crashed into the pole of a traffic sign, and the traffic sign broke the windshield. The air bags failed to deploy and the seat belts pretensioners failed to engage, causing the contact to hit her head against the windshield. The shattered pieces of the windshield were propelled to the contact. The contact stated that she was unconscious for an hour. The contact was transported to the hospital by emergency unit. The contact sustained severe headaches and was advised to follow up with a neurologist. Additionally, the contact sustained minor lacerations on the legs and arms. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, where it was totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 230,000.

My alternator is covered in alternator fluid including my serpentine belt all the way to my power steering reservoir. Also I've been noticing a loss of power in my vehicle, when I pump gas I try to fill it up and it wont fill up all the way to full it stays 1/4 less of full. Other thing is I had to take off the fuse for the radio due to the radio making loud popping sounds and turning of and on the speakers are fine its all original. This past weekend I noticed also when I was about to hit the road I wanted to set it on cruise control and it didnt work at all only the cruise control light was on and I used it a couple of times this year without problems till now.this week im going to the dealer to have my airbags fixed again due to an airbag recall.

I was driving down through someones yard and its like my vehicle made a grinding sound and a malfunction light illuminated an exclamation point in a triangle. I almost got stuck and I was horrified at the sound. Later on I started noticing it was harder to control thw vehicle at higher speeds on the road. Especially after it rained I would leave my yard and would almost be trapped in my yard. Very eerie grinding sound with 3 malfunction lights on: ABS, traction control, and brake lamp illuminated.

The power steering hose was replaced by dealer under earlier recall. It is now leaking and causing noxious fumes in the car. I called the dealer. Service person told me that because it was serviced under the recall, my car was no longer subject to the recall and I would have to pay to get it fixed. This does not seem right to me.

Air bag needs to be replaced and ever since I bought it I been having steering wheel noise and it shakes constantly. I bought new tires, changed power steering, pump, hose and it still does the same thing. I go to discount tires nearly every two weeks to get tires rebalanced even if its new. They still cant find the problem. Car also turns off sometimes. Happpened five times already. The steering whistle sound is constant now and when my car turned off it was on the street parked and also making turns causes the steering wheel to be stiff.

When I first purchased my Honda, it was brought back to the dealer several times for a "shaking" at certain speeds. This was dismissed over and over and blamed on tire air pressure and alignment. I knew this could not be the cause and found other Honda drivers complaining about the same issue. Recently, the passenger side tire came disengaged while driving the vehicle causing the car to crash down on the rotor. The vehicle was at a dealership recently for a repair, I believe this issue has been over looked by Honda and could have caused severe injury to myself or other drivers. It appears the shaking directly caused this issue with the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the high pressure power steering hose fractured without warning and there was an internal leak failure. The contact was able to take the vehicle to a store to refill the power steering fluid. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the high pressure power steering hose. The contact stated that the failure progressed and recurred due to the low pressure power steering hose randomly leaking without warning years later. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 12V222000 (steering). The dealer was notified of the failure and contact was able to order the part from the dealer. The contact was waiting to receive the part from the dealer to be repaired. The VIN was not available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 59,915....updated 02/04/16

My vehicle was parked in the parking lot of a grocery store. I was on my home from work and had stopped to purchase a few items. The engine was turned off. I had been in the store for about 10 minutes when I heard the loudspeaker asking for the owner of a 2005 gold Honda Accord to come to the customer service counter. When I approached the person behind the counter, he asked me to look outside to see if the vehicle on fire was, in fact, my car. Smoke was coming from the engine of my car and two vehicles from the fire department were trying to put out the fire. The car was totaled. Honda insisted it was my fault, but I found out much later that engine fires had occurred in other 2005 Accord. State farm gave me the replacement value for the vehicle, but it wasn't enough to purchase a car of equal value. The Honda Accord was still under warranty. I felt I should have been compensated for the entire cost of the car. Plus, if the fire had occurred while I was driving, I might not be here writing this letter to you. I was just recently made aware of some of the recalls from Honda for this exact problem. I believe Honda should take ownership of this problem and compensate me fairly for my loss. I have the VIN number and all of the paperwork from state farm, including photos of the damage to car taken after the fire.
