I take my car in to the Honda Dealer for regular service and I paid $235 Canadian for a brake inspection when the car was 2 years old. The brakes still had 9 mm of material on them - very good condition after 2 years. 9 months later they are completely worn down to nothing. As well, I noticed my gas mileage was terrible but figured it was the cold weather. I did not realize it was the brakes until they started squealing but by then it was too late. I figured since Honda checked the brakes not long ago and they were very good that I had no worries in that regard. It's also strange that the front brakes had very little wear and the back brakes were toast. I'm on my 3rd Honda Accord and never had this happen to the 2 previous Accords. I'm also the only person who drives that car and I'm not an aggressive driver and only put 14,000 km per year on my car. I was under the impression that the brakes would last a long time in this car because it has the "B" gear for regenerative braking and I use it all constantly to slow down before a stop. I never had to change the brakes on a 3 year old car before. Usually it's 5 or 6 years old before this happens. I believe something malfunctioned in the car in regards to the brakes.
