March 14,2018 driving at approximately 15-20 mph in a residential neighborhood, approaching a railroad track, vehicle suddenly came to an abrupt stop. Brake collision mitigation flashed on dash. Screen instructions to place vehicle in park. I turned on emergency flashers for safety. Once in park and returned to drive, able to continue. My right ankle sprained due to force of stop while pressing on accelerator. My teen in the back seat suffered whiplash. Thankfully no car immediately behind us. Since this time, I turn off the collision brake mitigation each time I start the vehicle. Fearful of the same action occurring again! dealership has run diagnostics but has no solution! no accident report filed.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. the contact stated that while driving on the interstate at approximately 65-70 mph, the brake mitigation system suddenly activated abruptly applying the brakes to stop the vehicle erroneously and causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and spin out before crashing into a guard rail. During the crash, the front end sustained significant damage but the air bags did not deploy. The contact indicated no other vehicles were present when the mitigation system erroneously activated. The driver sustained neck back and chest injuries and the occupant seated in the rear passenger seat sustained neck, back and front torso injuries. Medical attention was not required. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was still drivable. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,000.

I bought a new 2017 Honda CRV in may, 2017. Immediately I noticed I wasn't getting good mileage and started checking it the old fashioned way. I'm only getting between 16-18 mpg (I have all receipts) and the dash says I'm getting 23 (which I'm not). The dealer nor national Honda will do anything about it. They say they don't find a problem. Also my brakes make noises and I was told the calipers just off and it doesn't pose a safety hazard. I would never be able to sell it with that kind of noise. No one will do anything about it. I tried to go on the BBB web-site but it says the Honda has to be 2012 or older. Why? I feel stuck and will have to go to the media if I can't get this resolved. The dealer should by my car back under the lemon law. Someone help me.

Just as we were approaching the 4000ft descent to the valley floor, the instrument panel lit up with multiple warnings, the first being major brake failure. I stepped on the brake which was first soft, then immediately became hard to press down to stop the car. A small turnoff allowed me to get the car off the highway and stopped. Multiple warnings continued across the screen. Shut off the car to restart the computer, then restarted the car. Same messages. Checked exterior of car, tires, oil. All well. Towed to Honda dealership where it was tested for ebb and esb failure, ECU failure. Electronic booster was replaced and the brake system bled. Honda had the car for 7 days. Yesterday we picked up the CR-V, having been told that it was repaired and ready to go. We drove away, but less than a mile from the dealer/service location, the exact same problem occurred - instrument panel lit up multiple warnings with brake the most emphatic. I was not braking when the warning came, but immediately braked to get off the road. Again the grinding sounds and difficulty pressing hard enough to stop the car. Car is back at the dealer for service. The problem is not fixed and we do not trust any repair at this point. We could have been seriously injured on the mountain highway and are not willing to risk our lives again.

I was driving on a two way street no car in front of me for at least over half a mile and the car abruptly stopped (32 mph to 7 mph) within seconds. There was nothing on the road, clear weather conditions. I went forward and my pursue fell on the floor. Luckily, there was no car behind me otherwise I would have been rear-ended.

Vehicle has an issue with activating its collision mitigation braking system (cmbs) for no reason resulting in unnecessary slamming of the brakes. This has occurred at least five times over the last five months. It was first noted at around 12,000 miles and has happened at least 4 more times (we are now at 20,000 miles). In some instances, the vehicle was travelling at over 60 mph on the highway and slammed on its brakes on its own. There were no objects in front of the vehicle and we were following a straight lane. Luckily, rear-ending accidents that could have resulted from this have been narrowly avoided. There was an instance in which the vehicle braked and an 18-wheeler behind it had to slam on its brakes and was swerving uncontrollably for at least 300 feet. A lemon claim has been filed, but Honda is refusing to acknowledge the issue because it has yet to happen while their technicians drive it. Please note that we have put 20,000 miles on this vehicle for it to happen 5 times (an average of once every 4,000). Technicians are extremely unlikely to experience the issue while test driving the vehicle 10 miles. This issue jeopardizes the safety of all passengers of this vehicle. We truly hope Honda sheds light on this issue to prevent unnecessary loss of life.

Problem: The 'apply 'brakes' light' appeared on the dashboard display and the brakes automatically applied, dragging the car from 65mph to 25 in about 80 feet. The SUV behind me narrowly avoided hitting me. There were no cars in my lane ahead of me for est. 7 car lengths. Narrative: Clear day on the capital beltway, 495, inner loop immediately after the chain bridge road exit in Virginia. I had accelerated from 30mph to merge from the highway 7/leesburg pike on-ramp onto the 495 inner loop into heavy traffic. This first lane from the right is a 'filter' lane where on-boarding cars and exiting cars must filter onto the freeway or an exit in about.2 miles. After entering the heavily trafficked filter lane I cleared and entered the second freeway lane, making 65mph to match traffic. Nobody was turning into my lane. My lane (second from right) was clear an estimated 7 car lengths in front of my car, but lanes around me were heavily travelled due to several exits in a short distance. (tysons corner/highway 7, chain bridge rd (va 123), dulles toll road (va 267). After passing the chain bridge exit, before engaging the cruise control, I was jerked forward into the shoulder restraint as the brakes automatically engaged: The 'brake' indicator showing on the dash. I looked in my rearview mirror and noted a SUV heavily braking to avoid impact. I hit the accelerator hard to increase the distance between it and me, making the brakes disengage. Speculation: This model frequently locks onto cars leaving my lane ahead of my course of travel and heavily deaccelerates as they slow to exit speed. Many cars were jockeying to exit in the lane to my right. My suspicion is the active braking system was traking some car in the right filter lane and applied brakes to match their exit speed, which could have been around 20mph.

Honda CRV 2017 collision system failed, led to brake fail and accident, feel unsafe driving now- on Dec 28th 2017, while driving my 2017 CRV, I had to stop at stop sign, I tried to apply brakes but they failed completely as in no response by pressing the brake pedal. The collission mitigation system on Honda malfunctioned and messed with the braking, as a result the brakes failed and I hit the car in front. Now my question is what will Honda do in this case. I am also worried now for future, today I was driving at 10-15 mph in a small street and was alone in the car. What if my entire family was in the car and this happened on a freeway at 70-75 mph. My driver airbag was also deployed due to the collision today. I now feel unsafe driving my Honda CRV 2017.

On November 17, 2017 at 1105am on I70W approximately 3 miles West of the fruita Colorado exit. Driving on active cruise control at 78mhp in left lane no car ahead in left lane but passing old VW bus light in color CRV suddenly braked from 78 to about 50 mph kicked cruise off, we did not get pass VW. Luckily no one was behind us for we could have been hit. Scared both of us! it was light overcast, car mileage 3681 approx.. on November 17,2017 at 1201pm on hwy 191S about 5 miles South of I70. Driving on active cruise control 69 mph active cruise control problem, collision mitigation problem, may have been more. No cars in front of us or behind, a pickup truck in North bound lane approx. 175 ft was approaching us. Car started braking, kicked off cruise control. I pulled over put car in park all lights cleared. Overcast sky and 64 degrees. Scared second time today. Ar. miles on car 3753 approx plus 4 other previous times of car giving warning lights for system failures. These cars have a problem and dealer tecks say there is nothing in the computers saying there is any problems except camera dirty. We are getting afraid to drive this CR-V touring

For a second time we have taken the vehicle to the service department after having problems with it not having power to go past 2 rpms and pulling as if it has a problem with the fuel line. After having vehicle towed the first instanceon10/17/2017 they checked it and could find no evidence of anything gone wrong, the car was only 2 weeks old. This second incident comes 1 month later and now the brake system light came on and even though the gear shifter was in the correct position there were two letters on top of one another and blinking. We could only drive it up to 30 miles an hour without it pulling. There were no problems breaking.11/21/2017

On two separate occasions the "brake" signal displayed and the vehicle came to a sudden screeching and complete stop. There were no vehicles or any other obstruction in front of me and thank goodness no one behind me. I was in motion at a speed of about 20 mph. The sudden and without reason stop jolted me forward without warning and it was very painful. I took the vehicle to the dealer I purchased it from and was told to disable the feature because they were unable to duplicate the fault. The default for this feature is enabled upon starting vehicle. So I must disable the collision mitigation system every time I start the car.

This incident was 4 months aftwr purchase. I parked a friend's house, and the battery drained over the course of 3 hours. I came out and start the car, and it wouldnt start. The car keep on making this continuous beeping noise every time I open and close the door. It usually only do that if the key isn't near the car, but this time the keys are on me. The trunk will not open no matter what you press. I had to get my friend to jump the car with cables. While I was driving home, it didn't show the normal screen, but it showed some anti theft message. Once I got home, it told me to hold down for longer than two seconds to have the system restart. I did that but nothing happened. I left it over night and it was normal again the next day. Right now, as I'm writing this complaint, there's another problem. An hour ago, I parked at a restaurant's parking lot. I came out 40 minutes later and cannot start thr car. The display in front of me is showing "brake system problem. " I'm waiting the the tow people to tow my car right now. In six months I have experienced 2 major problems which cause quite an inconvenience.

Faulty Honda sensing was driving at approx 35mph when CRV slammed on it's on brakes by itself for the 2nd time thank god no one was behind us, high beams come on when close to on coming traffic blinding on coming traffic, blind spot indicator comes on when no one around, blind spot indicator doesn't come on, when cars in blind spot, didn't see car in my blind spot and cut car off because blind spot indicator wasn't working. Burning wire smell inside cab. Most of these problems have been happening since approx Jan 2017 less than 1 month of owning car. I can't list just 1 day its happened because it's happened multiple times over and over. CRV has been in shop 5-6 times for these problems with no luck of fixing them.

Driving my 2017 CRV ex home from work. Stopped at red light, foot on brake pedal. When the traffic signal turned green, I took my foot off the brake pedal, and a message came up on the dashboard screen "brake system failure". the engine was still running. I turned onto a side street and tried to depress the brake pedal, but it was frozen and the vehicle would not stop. I pulled into a parking lot and put the vehicle in 'park', and called the dealership where I leased the vehicle. The sales rep suggested I turn off the engine and restart it. I did that and all systems seemed to function properly. I later took my CRV back to the dealer, and they did a diagnostic check but found no definitive problem. The technician could only say the computer indicated something had occurred but could say what, or why, or whether it might occur again. The service advisor said they could not find a problem, and everything seemed ok, and "have a nice day!" now I am anxious when I drive wondering if, or when, the brake system might fail again. Is it just my CRV, or has this issue been reported by anyone else? this issue, should it occur again while driving in traffic, could result in a serious crash situation.
