Engine oil levels are high due excessive dilution by petroleum. As a result the oil pan is high causing oil leaks. There are new oil drips in my garage every day. I'm sure the engine oil is leaking intermittently when I drive; I also notice oil drips on the ground at work. The oil level continues to be high even with the leaks. Honda dealership confirmed the oil has petroleum in it. Honda also accepts dilution is normal in their cars with this engine, yet the dealership denied any safety concerns with the leak. The dealership simply added a dye and asked that I continue driving and come back for an oil change which will be due in about 3000 miles. The oil mixed with petrol caught on fire when I was smoking in the garage. This is a serious safety concern for everyone that works in their garage, smokes, cooks or has a heat source near it. It can cause fire and death. High chances of engine stalls due to excessive pressure.

Recently replaced battery in summer of 2020. Gave the vehicle in question a jump and upon starting, several warning lights appeared that have to do with some of the smart vehicle control. Once battery was installed lights went away for a few days. But after a few days, the warning lights have continuously appeared on the dash immediately upon starting. These lights have to do with cruise control, hill start assist, traction control, and all wheel drive. While at first, it was thought the lights were giving a false positive, but now, it is confirmed that the safety features that the lights are indicating are not working posing numerous safety concerns. Honda corporation and Honda dealership have not dealt with or proposed any solutions on the matter. Living in a winter climate, all wheel drive is vital and after a recent snow event, the all wheel drive is not functioning at all posing great safety concern. The lights are on at all times as long as the ignition is on, regardless of stopped or actively moving.

Vehicle rolls away in park. At various unspecified times the vehicle fails to maintain the parking gear. First example took place on slightly slanted driveway: When placed into park the vehicle rolled backward (all wheels moving) and owner jumped back in to hit the brake so as to avoid rolling into anyone/anything. Dealership has duplicated the issue many times and appears unable to determine cause.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. the contact stated that while reversing into the garage and attempting to stop the vehicle, the button on the gear shift button detached. The contact stated that after some research, she learned that the detaching of the gear shifter button was a common failure. The vehicle was not taken the vehicle to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.

While driving on the highway about 50mph the gear button for shifter came off. Luckily it landed in the cup holder otherwise, I would not be able to put into park once stopped as it would have been still be in drive. I was able to temporarily put it back in place so that I could put into park. Very scary and dangerous while driving home on the highway.

On the 4th (around 20K miles) oil change from dealership I complained about driver side seat cushion and brake pedal making squeaky noise. I was told it's normal in new car during the breakin process and eventually it'll go away. Now it's even worse at above 50K miles and they're asking for diagnostic charges. Car also has fuel and oil mixing issue which I brought it up on my recent visit to Honda dealership and I was told they'll need to drain the oil and refill with new oil and filter to determine the issue. While they were taking out they said there was no presence of fuel but the smell of fuel in engine oil is normal for this vehicle. There's been time where vehicle will be stuck in high RPM when on highway and accelerator is released during high speed. And eventually it'll shift the gear after 5-10 seconds and bring down the RPM. Smell is also noticed during first start in mornings specially now since it's winter.

Shift lever lock release push-button broke off. Learned this was subject of a service bulletin (19-063) but it's a pretty significant issue as the driver cannot move the shift lever in or out of park/reverse/drive without the button. Should this button have broke off and not been in hand it would have been impossible to move the shift lever into park while the engine was running. Imho this should be a recall item, not just a "product update" as Honda has called it.

I was unable to move the shifter to change from park to drive. Thi initially happened in a driveway where I was parked. Small pieces of plastic were falling out. I had to use a pen to engage the shifter and then it would move. As I pulled into my street I had major difficulty using reverse even with the pen. I was unable to turn the car off or lock the doors until I dug all the plastic out of the shift device. I read all dealers didn't fix for free so we ordered the part and fixed ourselves

I was driving on I-5 about 70 mph, suddenly the car started running rough and speed dropped immediately to 10-12 mph. The check engine light came on. I immediately pulled to the side of the road. After a minute or so the car returned to normal. I continued driving to the next dealer and had them inspect the car. They could find nothing wrong and gave me back my car. After driving an additional 15 minutes the same thing happened only the check engine light and many other warning lights came on and flashed. Once again I pulled to the side of the road and was towed to the dealership. They then changed the oil, replaced a fouled spark plug, adjusted the fuel injector settings and replaced the climate control unit. Honda has been unable to explain to me why this would solve the problem long term.

Shifter knob broke and fell off gear shifter while in motion upon further investigation I found that Honda had issued a service bulletin 19-063 describing the same exact issue as had happened to our vehicle and it referenced NHTSA #10160912 but the service bulletin is VIN specific and Honda is stating that our vehicle is not covered for repair under this service bulletin. I am questioning them further but it is the same problem as described in the bulletin so maybe the recall/product update needs to be looked at further so that in the future drivers don't experience the shifter knob falling off the gear selector while in motion.

While driving down the hwy at 65 mph the button in the gear shift popped out. It is a piece of plastic and it broke inside the gear handle. I drove home but without this button inserted I am not able to shift to park, reverse, drive. I took it to the westhills Honda dealer for repair. I was told there was a recall on this same issue but not for this VIN. To me this is a very serious concern.

Gear shift button popped out while driving: I was driving with my children in the car, the button popped out as I was trying to drop them off at school. This could have been a truly deadly situation in a crowded drop off because the car would not go to park. Thankfully I quickly recovered from shock, hit the brakes and scrambled to grab the piece that had fallen to the floor of the car. The button piece looks cheap, so now the coil is exposed. I can't just stick my finger in so I am going to need to tape the button back on until I get it fixed. This is an obvious recall issue since so many people have mentioned it. I wouldn't have reported it if I didn't see so many online complaints.

When driving on a local road from school, my son pressed the accelerator after a stop light. Our 2017 Honda CRV didn't move an inch. Thankfully, it was not a highway and the cars behind him were not coming at high speed. We had the car towed to the dealer and it turned out that the transmission was gone and it had to be replaced. We were quite upset that only a two year old car can have this problem and wanted to report the incident,
