I check engine oil yesterday and found level very high on dipstick and smelling strongly of gasoline. I called the Honda dealer checkered flag where I purchased the vehicle and took it directly there.it had only been 180 miles driven since last oil change at dealer. They offered to change oil again and then told me to keep checking oil level and return to dealer in 1000 miles. I was told the oil level was half quart over filled and was because gas was not being burned during combustion because engine was not hot enough. They said it was normal and not to worry. I don't think the oil will protect my engine when it is so diluted with gasoline.I filed a complaint and got a case number [xxx] from Honda America, but want the problem to be fixed before there is long term damage to my engine. Dealer confirmed engine oil dipstick had unusally strong smell of gasoline. Vehcile has been serviced once by Honda dealer. I was assured that all necessary fixes were made. Same issue happened again. Returned vehicle to Honda dealer for additional service.

The oil dipstick is showing the oil level to be substantially higher than the max oil level. I took it to the Honda dealer 1/2/19. They showed me a service bulletin indicating that gas could be mixing with the oil, but Honda considered that a normal operating condition for that model. They offered no solution to the problem, but did change the oil at my request. I consider gas mixing with the crankcase oil a serious problem. Action should be taken to remedy this problem.

Dch Honda of nanuet (10 NY-304, nanuet, NY 10954, (845) 367-4380) stated that the noise was normal. The contact also notified the dealer of a strong odor of fuel and oil. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. NHTSA campaign number: 17V442000 (fuel system, gasoline) was referenced. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.

Upon seeing all of the complaints about the 1.5 liter turbo engine in the CR-V's and civics, I inspected the oil in my 2017 Honda CR-V only 100 miles after it was changed by the local Honda dealer. I pulled out the dipstick and noticed that the oil level was over the recommended limit and it was very dark in color. I leaned into the engine and noticed a strong presence of a gasoline smell. I have also noticed the presence of this smell before inside of the cabin but I thought it could be from something else. I am convinced it's coming from the engine. Honda needs to do something about this.

My car has a strong smell of gas on the dip stick and it is over the full mark. I have already taken my CR-V to the dealership I purchased my car at. They recognize the gas smell and over full mark. The service department changed the oil December 12th. 2018 today is December 24th 2018. I checked the oil when the car was cold and on a flat surface and the dip stick shows overfill and has a strong smell of gas.

My 2017 Honda CRV has fuel in the oil, confirmed by dealership. The last time I had it to dealership they confirmed it had 2 quarts of fuel in the crankcase oil. This is a hazard because the engine could overheat and lock up as I drive, which could lead to an accident. This also lowers the value of my car. The dealership can't fix it! I have driven the car approximately 800 miles since last oil change. It is currently a quart high on dipstick and oil smells of fuel.

Had the first oil changed at 5,658 miles in October, 2018. Mentioned the fuel in oil issue with 1.5 liter turbo engines (per consumer reports) to service rep at annapolis Honda. He claimed to have never heard of it. Checked my oil today (12/21/18, 7,600 miles), oil level is elevated approx. 1/2 inch above the fill line from October with strong gasoline smell in the oil. Honda claims to have a fix for this but will only roll it out in northern tier states in the us. Problem is much more widespread and needs to be implemented nationally. Potential for premature engine failure and fire if not fixed

Ist oil/filter change by dealer at 4K miles all appeared to be normal. 2nd oil/filter change by dealer at 8K miles oil level was excessively high over dipstick max fill mark by 1/2 inch and oil dipstick had intense gasoline smell and oil viscosity was extremely low. Dealer says Honda is investigating an 'oil dilution' issue with this engine type.

Current miles = 4K. 1= battery went dead several times, was told update was done because issue w/parking brake circuitry. 2= various driver assist warning lights come on intermittently on dash.-issue not identified nor fixed. (ongoing) 3= recently pulled over by police nighttime-no tail lights, though front lights worked- driver of car was not familiar w/car- police fiddled w/ lightswitch got them working told driver to take it to dealer-no ticket issued. 4= noticeable lack of acceleration, fuel odor about vehicle, also sulphur smell after driving, heat does not warm cabin, nor defrost.defog windshield properly, oil black and overfull. Oil changed, issues reoccur within a few driving miles (50-100). One dealer blames the other, Honda says they didn't know of issues, dealer finally confirmed gas in oil. Again-there is only 4K miles on this 'vehicle'. all these issues relate to safety, either to anyone inside the vehicle or others on the road. I have no confidence in driving this (paying more attention to cluster, driving subtleties etc than traffic), and am very upset in paying the payment each month while hearing the 2 dealers blame each other, and while Honda shrugs their shoulders. I am taking it, once again, to the dealer this Saturday for an 'update' to the software-per Honda case mgr naomi xt 87075. Documentation can be provided on request-- I am out of time and patience. There are many more people with these documented issues on this vehicle than are being reported here- (see google and social media). I dread having to drive it Saturday nine miles to the dealer. This is the top selling car in its class-- there is a major problem being driven daily on the highways of the usa. My issues began April 2017 (purchases 3/30/2017) and have been ongoing through Dec 2018. Please help!!
