Contacted Honda regarding brand new 2018 Honda CRV Voyager regarding oil dilution. The company says that the gas smell on the vehicles oil dip stick is "normal." They also stated that if the oil level is too high an interior light or engine noise would indicate an issue. Meaning that the oil level is arbitrary.

My 2018 Honda CRV touring with 1.5L turbo engine had had a problem with the smell of fuel fumes in the interior cabin since the time of purchase. When you turn the air on with the air coming from the outside vent, especially when first starting the car, the smell of gasoline fumes is apparent, which is also a serious health safety concern as inhalation of fumes is definitely bad for your health. Every time I check my oil level, the dipstick shows the oil is overfilled beyond what the dipstick measures and the oil smells heavily of gas. After researching this online, I found that there is a problem that many 5th generation CRV owners are experiencing with the 1.5L turbo engine with too much gas getting into the oil and the smell of fumes in the cabin. This is what is causing my oil level to rise to unsafe levels that will accelerate the deterioration of expensive internal engine components. I contacted Honda and they performed a technical service bulliten related to this issue on December 4th 2018, where a module related to the air conditioning was replaced along with the engine oil and some software upgrade was installed. This changed absolutely nothing. I still am experiencing the sickening smell of gasoline fumes in the cabin as well as the dipstick showing more oil than it can measure along with the smell of gas coming from the oil.

After receiving Honda tsb 18-124 from Honda, which supposedly fixed the oil dilution issue issue, my CR-V problems have gotten worse! now, not only does the vehicle get a terrible smell of gasoline inside the cabin, (especially on initial start-up and while idling), but the vehicle has developed new problems. Included among these are: - worse oil dilution (gas in the engine oil). It rose by 1 quart in 2 weeks since getting the update (about 500 miles of driving) - a strong smell of gasoline in the oil and even around the exterior of the vehicle - worse gas mileage. A decline by several mpgs - colder cabin -- takes much longer to generate heat this is just wrong on a new vehicle and needs a proactive recall and further investigation asap. Please do not believe Honda ' users are still experiencing these issues after their update.

Sone how gas is getting the oil. I left vehicle run at idle for 15 minutes in driveway temp gauge does not move. If I drive vehicle the temp gauge goes up but stop for a few minutes and temp gauge starts dropping again. Very strong oder of gasoline in side vehicle when stopped at red light or parked for a few minutes. You have to put windows down it smells so bad. Honda is aware of all these issues and does not want to own up to any of them! my vehicle is suppose to get fixed Friday morning. 1-11-19 but according to the internet the fix Honda is doing does absolutely nothing. Do people have to die before Honda is forced to do something? it is all Honda CRV vehicles and some other models from 2017 and 2018.

At approximately 5000 miles I changed the oil in our 2018 CR-V (for the first time) and realized there was approximately 1.5 quarts too much oil (it wasn't all oil, gasoline had diluted the oil). We have an appointment today at the Honda dealer in grand island, ne to have them 'install updated injector software and something concerning the A/C regulator (they said).

Our 2018 Honda CRV touring has the oil dilution problem. Our oil level increased about 3/4 inch on the oil stick from may, 2018 to December, 2018 and it smells like gas. We have also smelled gas inside our car. Honda is fixing some cars, but we live in Arkansas and our state is not on the list to be repaired. We could have an engine fire so feel it is not safe to drive. Also, the engine will wear out a lot faster with the dilution....even though the Honda dealer said it won't!!

Honda gas in oil. When in for their recall. Oil was changed and A/C module replaced. I never checked the oil for gas but feel this problem must cause some engine damage. Would like to see a formal recall with proper corrective action. Dealer seemed evasive when asked to explain the problem, no big deal just gas in the oil.

October 2018 we took our new C rv on a trip to nashville, tn from traverse city, mi. The check engine light came on and the oil can icon lit up. I called the Honda dealer where I bought the C rv from and they had no idea what was going on. I got out and checked the oil and found it high. I brought the Honda to a quick lube to check it. They changed the oil then sent me on my way. After arriving back home tc a few weeks later we got a recall letter from Honda. On Wednesday, December 26th, williams Honda in tc did the recall work. On Thursday my wife got in the vehicle to go shopping and the heater would not work. She called the Honda dealer and brought the Honda to them. They said that they did not cause the heater to not work with the recall repair. After doing something, the heater began to work again. This is very worrisome, we are not sure what to do next. On an earlier occasion our new CR-V would not start as after only 30 minutes of sitting the battery was dead. The Honda dealer told us you can't leave any lights on as the battery wont last very long.

Stationary:gas intrusion into oil. Dipstick reeks of gas. Oil viscosity appears watery. Strong gas smell in garage after parking (heated garage) - takes 6-8 hrs to dissipate smell driving and stationary: Strong gas smell into driver/front passenger area, outside perimeter of car and under hood - smell appears to come into cabin with heater on through vents. Windows have to be rolled down and heater off to get rid of smell - my eyes water, throat becomes tight and nose starts stinging immediately - headaches start after approximately 30 minutes of driving and continue for 4-5 hrs as do the other symptoms this cabin/under hood gas smell has happened with outside temps from 28-60 degrees. Gas smell is more concentrated after driving and parking the car and then turning off engine and returning to car to start engine within 10 minutes to 4 hrs - it literally makes me nauseous and dizzy. This happens whether car is in garage, driving on city street or highway. Has become worse the past 6 weeks (car was purchased new in June 2018) from Honda dealer in central Illinois. It currently has 2500 miles on odometer what about a fire under hood from excess fuel not being burned off" I am concerned about my health and emissions have driven many types of cars for over 50 yrs and never had these gas intrusion issues or oil intrusion from fuel what happens when I need to "air car out" because of smell and it's raining or snowing? the potential for engine damage in concerning - example: How does gas mixed with oil, lubricate an engine and its related components properly? why is there excess build up of fuel in oil pan? why am I subjected to the noxious, hideous, and sickening gas smell in cabin" therefore, I would expect at a minimum extended drive train/engine warranty to 6 yrs from Honda which was granted in Canada and want gas smell eliminated

Had oil changed by dealer. Noticed smell inside vehicle after driving home. Checked oil had smell of gasoline. Oil level has increased since checked after service. According to Honda information, car will shut itself down if oil level gets too high. If car dies on interstate, could very well cause an accident.
