Strong gasoline smell on engine dipstick and vehicle only has 128 miles

Purchased a new 2018 Honda CR-V ex in Florida 4/18. Worked fine until a recent trip to Indiana where it was subjected to cold temperatures. The vehicle would not heat for 10 minutes and it's performance seemed to suffer compared to how it was operating in warmer Florida. The worst part was the faint smell of gasoline in the car the entire time in Indiana. Wasn't sure what would have caused that until I returned to Florida and started investigating the matter and found out about the oil dilution problem and the small of gasoline in the oil. There is no smell of gasoline in the vehicle now that it's back in Florida, so I have to assume it had something to do with the cold climate it was subjected to. In either case I need to travel to Indiana in the winter frequently and the problem with gasoline fumes in the cabin (whatever it's cause) needs to be fixed. I now read where Honda is going to roll out a fix, but it will only cover CR-V's in northern states. If that's the case then that is not right! what about people like me that travel from warm climate Florida to Indiana in the winter - we shouldn't have to endure gasoline fumes and we shouldn't have to live with potential harm to our vehicles. We should all have the modification done to our CR-V's.

Gas is getting into the engine oil causing oil viscosity loss. It is also causing to much fluid in the oil pan and potentially damaging engine internals with to much fluid and loss of lubrication. Engine does not reach operating temperature in cold weather, causing poor performance and not heat from the HVAC system.

[ poss. Gas in oil ] have been seeing oil level rising after first oil change at 7100 miles. Oct.15. At 9100 level was approx. 3/8 of an inch above the high mark on dipstick. Took car to jeff wyler Honda, and talked to service manager who stated that there may be a fix coming but as of now nothing. Told me to watch oil level for maybe another 1000 miles. On Nov.17 oil level was almost up 1 inch above high mark on dipstick. Nov. 19, took to dealer and had oil changed early ( 3000 ) miles. Dealer stated oil was up about 1/2 qt. I have a picture of dipstick on ipad but not sure how to upload it.

There is an extremely high reading on the engine oil dipstick. A strong smell of gasoline is present in the engine's oil. The oil reads about half an inch higher on the dipstick than the maximum mark indicates.

Fuel is mixing with the engine oil causing the oil level to become high and the oil diluted. On short cold trips, the cab smells of gasoline. I had the oil changed by the dealer and not even 300 miles later, the oil level is high again and the oil smells of gasoline. Additionally, my CR-V does not heat up properly. When started cold, the temperature gauge on the dash never comes off of cold, no matter how long it idles. It takes at least 5 minutes of driving to register heat. When I remote start my car on cold days, it does not actually heat up the car.

Gasoline is contaminating and diluting the engine oil. Oil turned black and diluted by the gasoline and had to be changed with less than 1500 miles on the vehicle. Concerned that the gasoline diluted oil is posing a fire and safety risk.

My 2018 CR-V suffers from the dreaded [oil dilution issue] where gasoline gets into the oil raising the level above the full mark. The result is a strong gasoline smell, sometimes in the cabin but always when you pull the dipstick to check the oil. The oil level is always considerably higher than the full mark. I presented this issue to my dealer, and they confirmed the smell of gas in the oil, the high level and the fact that many 2017-18 CRV's suffer from this same issue. Their unacceptable solution was to change the oil and make longer trips to try to burn off the gasoline in the oil. They also said that Honda would be issuing a statement in the fall about fixing the issue. First a bit about the issue. There are many reports of CRV owners with this problem unexpectedly stalling and losing power while in motion. Some have suffered accidents. Does this sound like a vehicle you'd like to put your family in? also, diluted motor oil has to have long term damaging effects on the engine. I am very worried about the long term value of a car that was supposed to have great resale value - that's why I bought it. So Honda rolls out their "fix", and I notice that they're only going to address what they consider "cold weather states". they also plan to roll these "could weather state" fixes out over a multiple month schedule. Not acceptable at all. What about my car Honda. I would think that Honda would treat all of their customers the same and would want to fix as many afflicted vehicles as possible because of possible safety issues. Honda has a very loyal owner-base. I betcha how they handle this will affect people's decisions in the future. I know it will affect mine.

This vehicle gets a terrible smell of gasoline inside the vehicle, especially on initial start-up. This vehicle is unpleasant to drive do to this smell, especially in the winter with the climate control system on. My wife suffers from migraines and cannot ride in the vehicle. The problem was confirmed by my local Honda dealership, valley Honda, in Aurora il. No resolution was provided as they indicated the smell is tied to the well know oil-dilution problem with this 1.5 trbo engine, which they confirmed this vehicle also has (but for which no 'fix' has been issued in the U.S.) so now, not only am I damaging the new engine when driven, but also the occupant health by exposing them to gasoline fumes. This is just wrong on a new vehicle and needs a proactive recall asap.

2018 Honda CR-V ex. Since I purchased new excess in Jan 2018 fuel is getting into the crankcase and diluting the engine oil. Have to change my oil every 3,000 miles. Sent several oil samples from my CR-V to a lab and it comes back highly diluted which will eventually cause premature engine damage. Also, during the winter months when temps are in the single digits and below my CR-V cannot hold a normal engine temperature when going downhill or in stop and go traffic. This is turn causes my windshield to ice over causing a serious hazard when driving down the roads. I have contacted and visited my Honda dealer several times and they say nothing is wrong. How can myself and many others have these identical problems and nothing be wrong? I am very disappointed in Honda motor corporation and my dealer. I have purchased 4 new Honda vehicles over the years and this will certainly be my last. Not a happy camper for sure.

I have been having issues with infotainment screen/system. The system freezes and sometimes goes black and won't respond to touches and or instructions. The car has been to the dealer several times with no permanent fix. Also, vehicle temperature remains cold. The car runs and drives for several hours and the temp stays cold with no heat in the cabin. Experiencing fuel mixing with oil and sometimes smell of fuel in the cabin is noticeable.high oil level is also present. Dealership and Honda na both informed me that I will need frequent oil changes until they find a permanent fix.

Engine oil is being deleted with gasoline in less than 2000 mies, which will cause engine damage over time. Had oil change, it had almost 1/2 inch extra fluid on the oil dip stick level and the oil smells like old gasoline

Bought 2018 Honda CR-V exl only 2 weeks ago. It has 500 miles on it. I noticed a strong smell of gasoline coming from the engine. I found that the oil is over full and very diluted with gasoline. I worry this is a safety issue if the engine gets hot will the gas ignite. Is this going to cause excessive wear on the engine due to lack of lubrication? Honda needs to fix this issue. People are paying hard earned money for these vehicles.

On a city street, after slow acceleration after leaving a stop sign, with no cars in front of me, the collision avoidance system suddenly engaged and hard braked the car. Luckily no one was behind me or I fear I might have been rear-ended! also I am concerned that Honda has not acknowledged a problem with the earthdream turbo 1.5 engine causing gasoline to enter the oil. I live in Maryland, usa and Honda has done recalls in china and now Canada to address this issue as well as poor heating, but not in the usa. I am deeply concerned that this will cause engine damage in the future long after the warranty has expired and Honda will not accept liability! I am also concerned that there has been no recall to address problems with the gear shift lever. Many owners are reporting that the button you must push in to shift into or out of park will break without warning, preventing shifting gears.
