So the past 4 years I've been having issues with the paint on my car and Honda. They refuse to help me. I'm transferred constantly and then hung up on. The roof looks terrible and it's now starting on my trunk and hood! Yes the cars 10 years old but it should not look anything like this!

My paint on my car was coming off. Honda was supposed to repaint it. They had used some new environmentally friendly paint on their cars and many cars were having problems with it. Honda, Costa Mesa took photos of my car and supposedly booked me down for a date to bring my car for a few months later before I was supposed to get married. That was done because I needed my car for transportation at that time and if they repainted it, they would have to keep my car for a few days to weeks so they "scheduled" it for a time I wouldn't need my car. I bring my car in before my wedding and Honda said they no longer repaint the cars. I have the info of the person who had taken the photos but he was no longer working. I called them to make sure I was still "scheduled" and I even spoke to the new person who was transitioning into the position while the current person was still there and they both assured me that I was still scheduled for my repaint.

I can't believe such a large company acts like this. They did not produce quality and don't fix their mistakes. This shows them to be so dishonest and dishonorable. I used to be loyal to Honda and I'm so disgusted by them now. I definitely do not recommend a Honda to anyone anymore and steer people away from such a horrible company.

Bought this car from the original owner and the car was garage kept. Took it to a highly reputable paint shop and they said it would be $ 6,000.00 to completely strip and re-paint the entire vehicle. The paint shop said it was a common problem for Hondas. WTF ? I am a poor working man. I had an old 1975 Pontiac that the paint looked better than this. The peeling is essentially just on the roof. I figured a couple hundred bucks. Come on man, Honda corporation, normal oxidation my butt, you got problems

Hello. I love my 2006 Honda Civic Coupe, but I am really disappointed in the paint quality. The clear coat has been peeling starting on the roof and spreading like a cancer. It's very sad to see my car looking this way. I would hope that Honda would correct this problem with this.

Please if you want people to be return customers you should make this a top priority and look after this problem. I have always treated my car like my baby and don't deserve this.

Civic LX V4

The paint began looking like it was peeling off the roof a few years ago, and I didn't really notice it that much. But just in the past year, the peeling has spread all over the roof and the trunk, and spots are appearing on the doors and fenders. I couldn't believe how fast it spread. The car is 9 years old, but I have had cars much longer that never showed this kind of awful paint corrosion, and it's becoming a true eyesore.

When it became apparent that this was going to be a serious financial setback if I ever tried to trade in the car, I did research on whether there was something about the paint itself that was defective, and I googled "Honda defective paint." I found that MANY people have had this problem and that Honda had issued a "service bulletin" about it which extended the warranty (although only for certain parts of the car). There were many, many new items and consumer reports indicating that this was a known issue. However, I NEVER received anything directly from Honda about this. If I had, I would have addressed it immediately. The car is paid off, has a new stereo I put in, has only 61,000 miles on it and I intended to keep it until I needed a new car, never imagining I'd have to pay for an entire paint job out of pocket.

I spoke to a representative at American Honda today (Oct. 5, 2015) and was told that the extended warranty, which they never notified me of to begin with, expired last year for my vehicle, and they refused to do anything about it. Now the car is a total embarrassment to drive, and it will likely cost me at least a thousand dollars to get it in shape to trade in for any decent amount. (Actually, first I was told to take the car to a Honda dealership and have it diagnosed at my own expense and then work with a case manager to find out if anything could be done, and THEN was told the warranty had expired and there was nothing they could do.)

Now I am finding out that many others have had this issue, and Honda is absolutely not acting in good faith with their customers. Not only were they not forthcoming about the problem, they are refusing to make me whole based on a problem that was the result of an acknowledged defect in their paint. I wasn't notified that the problem could occur in time to take any action. Honda needs to be hearing from attorneys and the Better Business Bureau. Shameful!

Pay this much for a car with a name like Honda. I have always had a Honda and this is the 1st time this has happened. My car has been in garage except when at work. This is embarrassing and I wish Honda would live up to heir standard. If you have a bad heart, would you want it replaced?..........

I noticed some fading in paint last year and ironically had previously received notice from Honda about the paint issue. I need to have the work done but don't want to pay for a rental. It has since progressed from a small spot on the hood to all over the hood with bubbling and on the roof.

clearcoat and paint problems clearcoat and paint problems clearcoat and paint problems clearcoat and paint problems

I bought to my silver 06 Civic EX in 2011, and issues with the paint and clear coat abound. It started with a bubble on the roof right in front of the moon-roof, and now it's spread to the trunk and side body panels. My neighbor has a black 07 that was doing the same thing, but she got a letter from Honda about the problem and the dealer fixed it for free. I called the same dealer and they told me that my car was too old, even though my 06 and her 07 we're actually built the same month, and since my car is silver it didn't qualify. My silver car has the exact same issue as the black, blue, and red cars, so why would Honda exclude silver cars from the extended warranty? If anyone knows of a class action lawsuit, let me know.

The paint on the top of our 2006 Honda Civic has peeled off. Someone had mentioned that there was a lawsuit against Honda for this problem and that if I took it to a dealer, they would repaint it. I haven't been able to find out about this yet, but hoping it is true.
