I was traveling East on route 322 near dauphin, pa at about 55 mph. I was in the right hand lane. A car traveling in the left hand lane cut in front of me. To avoid hitting him, I applied the brakes hard. My car suddenly went out of control, fishtailing in the lane and then suddenly went into the left hand lane. I turned the steering wheel to the right. The rear end of the car swung around hitting a bridge abutment, bounced off, and went back into the right hand lane. I was finally able to straighten the car out and pull over to the shoulder and stop it. Fortunately I did not hit anyone, but did significant damage to my car.
