Recall on engine Hyundai said they replace it the car continues to lose power. I was on the interstate with my kids driving when all of a sudden it loses power and I'm almost hit. Hyundai is putting me and my children in danger and absolutely refuse to do anything about it. I have several case numbers where I have taken it to Hyundai they refused to fix it and they try to sell me a new car. Holidays had my car for four weeks now I had a friend take me up to the Hyundai dealership to check on it and they told me before they could check the engine now I had to replace coil pack #3 because it has a mess. I'm completely fed up.

My car started stalling while parked. As well as making a noise. I took my car to the huyndai Sonata for them to check on the recall. My specific car has the recall that affects my engine, and my engine light is on. The mechanic sent me a text advising me that "my vehicle4 is working as designed".

The vehicle shut down on 4/23/21 while sitting at a red light on a city street and became inoperable. The battery was jumped off and some wires started smoking and the engine would not turn over. The vehicle was towed to the residence, and the battery was replaced. Once the new battery was installed, the engine lights blinked continuously, but the vehicle would not start. The starter was replaced on 4/25/21. The vehicle started and was taken for a test drive on the highway and ran for about 5 minutes before it began producing a knocking sound. The vehicle shut down again on the highway, and when it was started again, there was a loss of power and acceleration. The vehicle coasted to the driveway of the residence, then needed to be pushed back into the residence. The vehicle would not start again and made a clicking sound. Wires were also smoking again. The vehicle will be towed to a dealership on 4/26/21 for diagnostics.

On April 17th around 1pm I was driving down hey 64 when my car stalled.in the middle of the road and cut off and I pulled it on the side of the highway. The Hyundai website states that this specific car has.engine issues and that it may stall due to.engine difficulties but when I put in my VIN no issue.pops up. Just because the issue doesnt pops up doesnt mean im not having to deal with my engine cutting off in the middle of the highway. I been.loyal to Hyundai for almost 13 years and to have this happen to.me was very disheartening and scary and for.Hyundai to act unconcerned really.is bothering me buti just hope for the best to see a resolution. I just moved to a new.city for better career opportunities and to not have a car and cough out 1K for a rental is disheartening and I hope.this gets fixed.

I was driving out of my home and my vehicle suddenly slowed down and stopped for no apparent reason.I jumped start the car for about 20 minutes and was able to reach a auto zone. They told me it was a dead battery so I buy a new $160 battery for the car to still not work and turn back on. Its like it would start but it would not fully turn all the way on. I recently purchased this vehicle 5 days ago and its already stopping in the middle of traffic.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. I just dropped it off at pohanka Hyundai (1770 ritchie station ct, capitol heights, md; (301) 423-1100) dealership regarding issues I suspect to be related to the recall on the engine. About three and half weeks ago, I started experiencing the following signs upon start-up in the morning and driving throughout the day. A loud knocking sound and vibration from the engine for 3-4 seconds when I start the car in the morning. Heavy smoking(more than the usual morning smoke on cold days) sometimes up to five or more minutes. Acceleration and rpmthat don't pass 2000 issues when driving at 60 mph. Random and intermittent stalling when driving, sometimes almost completely stopping or refusing to move after a momentary stop. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 169,925.

I have continuously tried to get some answers regarding my engine recall. I first received the letter in 2017. As I continued to to have issues with my engine burning tremendous amount of oil, I was given a caseworker from Hyundai corporate that will no longer return my calls. I have went through all three oil consumption tests and they have seen that every 1,000 miles my engine no longer has any oil. The engine light does not come on for some reason. When I picked up my vehicle I was told okay now just wait until it makes a noise and the light comes on. I told the customer service representative that my engine is already ticking and the engine light never comes on. I was told there's nothing they could do. I was told by a different representative that after the third oil consumption test, if my engine was under the recall guidelines then it would be replaced. I don't understand how this is ok to mistreat you customers the way that Hyundai does. I'm still making payments on this 2013 Hyundai Sonata that's not even worth it!!

I was driving my car, all my lights popped up on my dash board this never happens, once it happened I pulled over turned it off, tried to turn it back on it wouldn't start, checked the oil everything was fine tried to give it a jump it still wouldn't start. So I had to tow to a local mechanic and he looked at it the next day he told me he think my engine went, when I bought this car it had no lights on the dash board and it drove perfect I'm so confused and super mad right now. Then I got it towed to conecelli Hyundai for further information.

On November 15, 2020 my 2013 Hyundai sonta just quit on me while on the interstate in Georgia. I got it towed to superior Hyundai in anniston, al and that's where they told me I had a open recall on my engine and that's what made my car quit on me and I was gonna need a new engine, but since having a salvage title they had to send it up to the warranty department, 2 weeks later they come back and said my claim was denied bc of having a salvage title. I feel I have done my part by keeping the up keep of my car up so something like this wouldn't happen, but something that was out of my hands happen I have to buy a whole new engine all bc of what my title says. I can understand if I didn't do the up keep of my car but at the end of the day it shouldn't fall on me all bc of what my title says. I have owed that car since apirl 2016 and haven't had any problems til now on this car.

It has been over three months since the manufacturer announced the recall, but there still is no remedy. I am afraid of driving this vehicle in case the engine catches fire. What is taking so long for the manufacturer to come up with the remedy? it is putting many drivers in danger.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. Upon his personal inspection, the contact discovered that the vehicle consumed approximately a quart of oil within a week. The contact took the vehicle to mccarthy blue springs Hyundai (3000 nw S outer rd, blue springs, mo 64015) where they agreed to test the oil consumption on the vehicle and replace the oil as needed. After approximately five visits, the dealer acknowledged the oil consumption failure however, the dealer refused to service the vehicle under NHTSA campaign number: 18V934000 (engine, fuel system, gasoline) which the contact linked to the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

5 hours into a 6 hours highway drive, no issues have occurred, approaching a flyover at I-10E and the beltway East I was doing 70mph, about halfway up northbound approach I lost acceleration, all warning lights on dash appeared to illuminate, the radio continued to play, appears that power steering continued to work. After coasting down flyover I pulled to the right, put the car in park and it started up fine, I drove off the beltway to the feeder/service road and this happened once more. I pulled into parking lot and was able to put in park and start with no issue. Neither time did I ever see a constant warning light of any kind on my dash. The car has 99K miles and I am the only owner, taken to dealer 95 percent of time for maintenance.

While driving down a residential street, I received a notification that my car essentially was no longer charger and would cut off. I was prompted to pull over and stop the car. I cut the car off. When trying to restart, it would not cut back on. After about 20 minutes, it did restart but the check engine light was on. I ahve not driven it since. There is an outstanding recall on this car that has yet to be remedied and thus far Hyundai has not provided any solutions.

While driving on the interstate, the car engine completely stopped. I was able to maintain steering and brakes to make it safely to the side of the interstate. No warning lights were active prior to the engine stopping. The vehicle was towed to an auto shop which stated the engine was seized and unable to manually turn over. Attach is the report from the auto repair shop. The recall number is 162 per internet search. I have maintained scheduled oil changes throughout my ownership of this vehicle
