I was driving my car home from work and all of a sudden my car jerked and the RPM guage went to zero and the air conditioner stopped and the loss of traction light came on upon killing the car and restarting it it drove fine with no problem. Took it to dealer to inspect and to check and fix recalls and was told that they changed the oil for the recall on my vehichle and they could not find anything wrong with car since it was not acting up at that time. Week later it done it again and took to dealership to check and was told it came with code for crankshaft sensor and 10 minutes later was told that was not the problem it was a faulty ECM and replaced it. A week later done the exact same thing and they could not find anything wrong after keeping it for a month. Took the car to another auto mechanic and was told they could not figure out what was wrong with car unless it was acting up. Now here I am driving a car that will act up occasionally and now it seems that it getting worse when I stopped and started up a hill it sounded like metal on metal clanging and have very suspicious feeling it has something to do with the gdi engine recall but cant get anyone to figure out what it is since it's so hard to drive a car acting up in city limits when it does not want to go unless you got the gas pedal to the floor. Unsure if it is recall or something else and dealership dont know how to fix

Car sometimes looses power. When pressing on the gas peddle from being stationary we have to press all the way to the floor before the car will slowly accelerate. When breaking and the speed gets between 40-30 mph the car bucks. The car does not have any codes.

I have owned my 2013 Hyundai Sonata for 4 years and I have had to change the brake light bulbs 2- 3 times each year. In March of 2019 I spent $197 for new brake light bulbs. It is now August of 2019 and all of my lights are out, even the top light. My mechanic has confirmed that these vehicles have constant issue involving blown light bulbs. He could not find a recall on it. I have spoken with other Hyundai Sonata and elantra owners and they are having the same issue.

Purchased used 2013 Hyundai Sonata hybrid on 1/18/2019. On 5/22/19 had oil changed & requested diagnostic due to accelerator issues and hitting high speed bump. Same issue occurred along with car not starting on 5/28 and brought car to dealer on 5/29/19. Dealer could not repeat issue but replaced batteries in both key fobs. Drove car to ct (from nc) on 7/12/19. Car was fine except the A/C was not cooling well. Turned car off & let sit for 10 mins. It was better. On 7/18/19 my 17 yo was in motion on busy interstate 91 South in ct. Car decelerated & alarms rang out. A warning advised "hybrid battery failure" & "safely pull over". she was able to drive to the side. Highway safety patrol came & advised her to start car again. Lights came on but engine would not. Had car towed to lia Hyundai in enfield, ct. Called 7/19, left message rtc. I asked for manager who advised the same & said he would have to run a diagnostic to see what was wrong. I called Hyundai motor America & got a ticket number. Was told that if it was the battery they "may be willing to pay and may be willing to tow car back to nc once completed" again if approved. Need tech to submit a work order req and special tow request if prior authorization was approved. On 7/22 a diagnostic was ran & sent to hma showing hybrid battery needs to be replaced. I called hma & was given a national team ticket. Service manager rich called on 7/29 advising Hyundai is requiring more tests & wants pictures. He called back to advise that Hyundai is now telling him to just replace the safety plug & relay switch. Advised Hyundai would pay 60% and we would need to pay 40%. cost was $1000 but part needed to be ordered. Can't guarantee that it will work. I spoke to nicolette on 7/29. Was told they would only pay the 60% as a good will gesture. Car purchased in January 2019 at 96610 miles & only drove till 104513.

We noticed a knocking sound coming from the engine a short time ago. I called paterson Hyundai in altoona pa to make an appointment for them to check it out. We were scheduled for over a week later. I took the car to jiffy lube for an oil change yesterday and after leaving there the noise got louder and the car started making screeching noise. The check engine light was on. I decided to drive it to paterson Hyundai which was only a few miles away. I made it within a mile of the garage and the car shut down. All of the dash lights came on and I had to drift to the right shoulder of a heavily traveled highway. I waited a few minutes to try to start the car. It would not turn over. I called aaa and had the car towed to paterson Hyundai. I talked to the service guy this morning and he said the would try to get it into the shop today. He also said he would check for recalls on the car. We haven't heard from them at all today. I checked the recalls and found one issued for motor problems on my VIN number. We never received notification of the recall. We are the second owners of the vehicle.

I have a Hyundai Sonata 2013, when I go to start my car my key is not being detected. I have a push to start keyless entry car. I have had the battery replaced, changed the battery in the key pad thinking that would solve the problem but apparently it did not. This is ridiculous, I have to wait 30 mins before my car will start.

I drove my car to work and after I parked, I was unable to remove my key from the ignition.since the key was unable to be removed, the care was on acc, which means, you would need to leave your car running, if not your battery would drain/die. It took 20-30 minutes to get the key out. It began to happen more frequently and as I researched I found that this was a common problem with Hyundai Sonata's in general. To remove the key, a person would need to pull up on the shift lever, put something in the shift lock release (such as a pen or small wrench) or if all else fails disconnect the battery. I was sent by the dealer to a locksmith, but they shared it was something in the shift lever itself. I was recommended to put wd 40 in the ignition, but that did not solve the issue. I took the car to the dealership where, they need to replace the shift lever assembly, to which I was told it was a common problem and that they had performed several within the last few weeks. As of now, my car has been repaired.

I was leaving a parking lot and my gear shift would not move, I had to put a pair of scissors in the shift lock so it would move, then my brake lights went out. I havent had it fixed yet. My engine blew also a few years ago, I had that fixed but I should not be having issues like this. It may be the brake light switch or the shifter cable

While I was driving on the highway driving at speeds of 55 P/H my truck shut off. I had it towed to the nearest dealership and they told me that my engine has sized up. I had not missed an oil change since buying this vehicle. I do not know what my next steps are to get my vehicle fix. I do not believe that I should have to replace a engine when the make and model and year of my vehicle has known recalls for this issue.

A knocking sound could be heard under the hood as I started my car up. I took it to the maintenance mechanic immediately, and was informed the engine was going bad. I was instructed to drive it to the nearest Hyundai dealership, which is 4 miles away. Upon starting the vehicle up, I drove it fifty feet away from my mechanic and the engine made a seizing sound and shut off. The car was still in motion and wouldn't stop as the brakes wouldn't engage. I was able to stop the vehicle in the middle of the intersection, just narrowly avoiding a car accident. I had no warning indicators this was going to happen, I had zero engine lights warning of any impending issues before this catastrophic failure of the engine, which almost cost me my life. My mechanic has provided me with a full history of every oil change and repair order for the vehicle. This mechanic is also the general manager of a reputable auto shop and assured me I did everything right and Hyundai sold a lemon. I did take a picture of my dash board 10 minutes prior to this event happening. This can confirm I did not have a single warning light providing a warning before the engine seizing up completely. I have done everything I was required to by Hyundai to maintain the vehicle. But the engine seized regardless. 2013 Sonata SE 2.0 T mileage : 63,223 solid maintenance history on the engine and car. I can provide a comprehensive maintenance list when requested. Need a few days to get the entire history.

First- airbag light comes on randomly driving, in park or reverse. Second my interior light is in door mode does not go off as it should this is random as well sometimes it will go off other times it does not. I have to keep it in off mode - not fun at night leaving in dark for work or loading unloading babies. It has to stay in off mode so battery doesn't die. Third- cruise control once again random sometimes I can get it to set other times I cannot some times I can pull over park turn off and attempt again and it still doesn't work. Fourth- car wouldn't start, not battery related some interior lights worked some didn't radio didn't clock did all dash lights worked trunk would not open via inside button or ke button, gas tank would open with button. The door open alarm would ding. Fifth- odd sounds best described as grinding brakes fan belt movement that's broke and this is louder and louder then stops also has odd smell at the times of occurrence -dealership claims nothing is wrong obviously something is. These have been different occurances sometimes more than once at the same time. Some occurring for a couple of months now
