When the car is warm, after driving. While the car is turned off and parked, for a time frame of 10 minutes or more re-entering the vehicle and pressing the push to start creates a false start. The vehicle turns over and the dash activates but the motor stalls. While the motor is stalled, it still displays that the engine is running.

When turning left or accelerating from 20 mph there is a really bad hesitation. The car has a hard time accelerating. It didn-??t have this problem when we bought it. This poses a safety issue because you really have to give your self a lot of space or you will get hit for not accelerating. Every other time the car is quick and responsive.

Safety Issue 2022 Hyundai Tucson: All cars I have previously owned had a safety feature that alerted me through a continuous dinging or beeping sound immediately if a door was left open and the car was put into gear. I unknowingly became reliant on this feature because I have young children that sit in the back seat. If I did not see that a door was open, the car would alert me through sound before I could drive off with a door open. The Hyundai Tucson only has this safety feature for the driver-??s door, but not for the passenger door, rear doors or lift gate. While the small screen in front of the steering wheel shows a visual that a door is open, an alert beeping sound does not happen. The incident: My two children got into the back seat and I was already in the car. I thought I heard both doors shut but I did not turn around to check. I put the car into reverse and immediately looked at the backup monitor and did not look at the screen behind the steering wheel. There were no indications on the back up monitor or any audio alerts to indicate anything was wrong. I slowly backed up at 1 to 2 mph just taking my foot off the brake to exit my garage. Then the car was jolted to a stop and I put on the brake. When I looked behind me, I saw the driver-??s side rear door was jammed into the side of the garage because my son had not closed the car door all the way. The door frame was slightly bent and about 6 inches of metal bent inward almost an inch by the latch so it could not shut. Luckily my son had his seatbelt on when this happened and was not injured. I think an auditory alert is a necessary safety feature on ALL doors (not just the driver door) to prevent this or something worse from happening. I assumed this was a standard safety feature on all cars to prevent people from falling out of cars and losing car doors while driving. I did take the car to the dealership to see if it was a setting issue, but they determined this is how the car was designed.

The sunroof exploded outward, after being driven earlier in the day then parked in our garage. We went to pull it out of the garage again and didn-??t even leave our driveway and the sunroof exploded. Researching the issue seems to have uncovered an existing problem with Hyundais that the manufacturer has not taken responsibility for yet. Seems like the government should get involved.

I purchased a 2022 Tucson Hybrid on Friday 5/27. I purchased the insurance package as well as the Tommy Car protection. On Wednesday 6/1 it got stuck in neutral, thankfully in my driveway. I tried to put it in reverse, but it instead went into neutral. I couldn't get the emergency brake to engage at first and my car was rolling down my driveway, which leads to a lake. I can't even imagine what could have happened to myself or my four year old daughter who was in her car seat. I honestly didn't even trust the emergency brake. I am scared to ever get in that car again. I called Country Hyundai right away and they said I will have to get it towed through roadside assistance. I asked what am I supposed to drive? The service manager said he couldn't help me with that. The tow truck driver attempted to get my car to go into park and other gears but couldn't. My car was then towed to the closest dealer. My car didn't even go to Country Hyundai. It went to Balise. Balise Hyundai let my car sit in their lot for 2 days and the battery died. They attempted to do diagnostics after recharging my battery and said they can find no issues or warnings and the car is working again. Spoke to Hyundai corporate a case manager got back to me today 6/7 and said they can't find anything wrong so I can drive the death trap until it does it again. Then have it towed in and if it's under warranty they will attempt to repair it. I am beyond frustrated with this. I have never experienced something like this.

On May 27, 2022 I started my car in the parking garage at work. The engine stuttered slightly but recovered. After I left the garage and accelerated I found that the car would not rev past 3000 rpm. At 3000 rpm the car began to lose power. It would recover when you backed off of the accelerator. This issue continue for the 27 mile trip from work to home. I restarted the car once I reached home and it was okay. I have tried to recreate the issue and it has not happened again. I took the car in for service and Hyundai dealership could not find any issue or recreate the problem. I am attaching the service invoice. I did find other 2022 Hyundai Tucson owners reporting the same issue in online forums so thought it best to provide info to both the NHTSA and Hyundai USA.

My car-??s infotainment constantly and consistently goes black and disconnects and reconnects when connected to Apple CarPlay. This may seem like an inconvenience at first, but it poses a real safety issue when using navigation in an area I-??m unfamiliar with. In this case it can cut out for ten seconds or more as I-??m about to make a turn, which can distract me or make me make a sudden move or turn to make my destination. It also cuts out phone calls, which can force me to use my phone-??s speakerphone and regular phone features which require I hold and/or look at the phone while driving. This is a known Hyundai/Apple issue that seems to be impacting thousands of people. I have an iPhone XR with the latest software (15).

The car will accelerate, but not beyond a speed of 20 - 30 MPH. The issue is intermittent, one happens in January 2022 and another one happens in Feb 2022. The issue happens after parking overnight, and the issue will go away after restarting the car. No-fault light shows up. The problem has not been reproduced by a dealer since it is intermittent. The issue is reported to the manufacturer, but no actions from the manufacturer have been taken. The issue does pose a safety risk to me and other road traffics since the problem may happen anytime on driving.

Thankfully we are alive. We were going at speed and he attempted to pass me on the median, grass and rumble strips. He was inches away from my rear bumper, riding me. When I put the turn signal to move away from him he hit my driver-??s side rear panel (side swiped), thank God it didn't turn into a pit maneuver and killed us. He then proceeded to take off. So one thing I have to say is, the vehicle has great pick up. I called 911 and went after him to get his lic plate. When I got to be about 10 car lengths or so, he slammed his brakes. Since I was on the left lane, I could not keep going left and risk going into oncoming traffic. Plus, there was a car on the right lane I slammed the brakes and rear ended him on his right rear. He had a 2021 Toyota Tacoma pick up and our hood flipped up and shattered the windshield. The hood stayed up and I was driving blind. All I did was keeping straight, not knowing where I was going and didn-??t hit a vehicle, tree, embankment or sign. I went there yesterday and I have no idea how I we didn-??t die. I-??m so shaken up by it. When we came to a stop, there was a hole about 6 feet from my front tire. We were the victim of road rage and this person caused the accident purposely. He admitted it to the police. He said to the cop, I was slowing down traffic. I suspect with the size of his vehicle and being so close to my rear bumper, he did not see my turn signal. My major concern is the airbags did not deploy and the hood flipped open blocking my view. I was in a forum and this happened to the same model owned by someone else. I suspect this is a design flaw.

Wireless Apple Carplay disconnects randomly causing loss of onscreen maps and turn by turn directions. Hands free phone calls are also dropped. This creates a very dangerous, not to mention annoying situation when driving in busy traffic and depending on the map guidance. It has caused me to take my attention off the road trying to get the system to reconnect so I do not miss an exit or turn. Many others with the same make/model vehicle are complaining of this same defect on the internet. Today it happened 20-30 times on a 3hr trip. Most times it reconnects on its own after a some time. Sometimes I have to manually hard reboot the infotainment system to get it back. I have been to the dealer and have called Hyundai care. No one seems to know what the issue is. They just kind of give me the runaround. The dealer admitted there is a problem but had no solution. Carplay is supposed to make driving safer by putting your phone GPS etc on the car screen for safe hands free operation. These disconnects are going to get someone killed.

I was driving on the highway and as I was slowing down for the slower traffic ahead the car started jerking and then the gas pedal wouldn-??t cause the car to accelerate. I had to cross several lanes of traffic not being able to accelerate to get to the breakdown lane but could not get all the way off the highway. I believe that the issue was with the engine or brakes. There was a smell of burning in the car so I turned off the engine as soon as I got over as far as possible. I was afraid to try to turn on the engine because is smelled like something was burning. I had to sit partially in the highway with cars speeding by rushing to get out of my lane to avoid crashing into me while I called emergency service. The car was towed to the nearest dealership and I am awaiting the results of the inspection results from the dealership. There were no warnings or lights that I noticed prior to this incident.
