My car should fall under the safety recall W47. and the NHTSA recall campaign 20V343. the dealer cleared my car from its recall flag by updating the firmware programming but this did not fix the problem. I paid for a diagnostic ($220) at Jeep Santa Monica and they concluded the PTU is faulty and needs to be replaced as the current one is faulty. Dealer is aware that this is a known problem and that there is a recall campaign for it but refuses to pay for its repair. The car is unsafe to drive.

After multiple attempts it finally turned back on helping to get me into my driveway. If somebody would have been driving towards me I would have been hit. After this, I went on a test drive with no warning dash lights illuminated, my car wanted to stall and was sputtering awfully after about a mile. Dash lights illuminated with a check engine light, service transmission, my traction control turned on and my selected gear (drive) was blinking a (D) on my dash. It was driving very slow. The dealer i bought it from had it towed and they -??found-?? it was a -??loose battery connection-??. I do not believe this. After checking multiple forums and reviews for this EXACT problem I am now DEVASTATED and BEYOND SCARED to drive my Jeep. I have read multiple reviews of this happening with these exact vehicles on INTERSTATES. My safety and others was put at risk by my car stalling in the middle of the road. If i continue to drive this Jeep lives could potentially be put at risk if I am on busy roads and it stalls. No warning signs or lights appeared before this incident.

I am within the 8 years but over the mileage and the manufacture won't honor the warranty. Vehicle completely shuts off at random times without warning when lowering speed or after coming to a complete stop and sometimes battery light flashes sometimes when this happens. Will then put it in park and push to start ignition and it starts back up. Owned the vehicle for only a month and has happened on 5 different occasions. Steering wheel has locked up when it unexpectedly shuts off and was unable to steer and get off on the shoulder of the road and was almost struck from behind. On several other occasions at a stop sign when I go to take off vehicle won-??t move and the main screen then says -??Shift to P then desired gear-?? while the red light is flashing next to the D on the actual gear shift, although vehicle doesn-??t completely shut off when this happens. I have to put in park then shift gear to D to take off again. I am fearful of an accident, injuring myself and family or anyone else on the road. Vehicle was taken back to dealer however, the problem was not reproduced by the dealer.

3/1/2021: Rough idle and overheating after filling up gas tank that morning upon arriving at work. Jeep had problems when leaving work at roughly 1630. Idles poorly, very rough and dipped from 900 rpm down to 200 rpm while almost stalling. I decided to drive home and thought it may be a little water in the gas from filling up that morning on MacDill. Ran rough on the way out of MacDill. At the home depot traffic light, the transmission would not engage and I had to switch to park and back into drive. Once onto Gandy Blvd the temperature started to overheat. I turned on the heater to act as a second radiator and decided to shoot for Jeep dealer in St. Pete. I made it there and caught a ride home with Wife's sister. Dealer drove Jeep on Tuesday a total of 23 miles without any temperature above 202. Told that lot boy and service supervisor drove it. No charge since St. Pete Jeep couldn't find any faults. I had Wife take me to pick it up. On ride home got up to 207. No rough idle. ***Rough idle and stalling while driving in traffic continued. Noticed this always occurred after filling gas tank up to full*** Jun 29, 2021: Got gas again at MacDill Monday morning upon arrival at work. Monday afternoon car ran terrible. Remote start stalled before I got to Jeep. Started up again when I got to car and engine ran rough. Nearly stalled several times. Engine almost stalled at final left turn while heading to gate. Transmission indicator flashed again and transmission failed to work. Display showed to place in park to select drive. Had to coast up onto median to keep from blocking traffic when engine started to stall again when light turned green and I proceeded through light. Occasionally Ran rough all the way home for the 43 miles and 1 hour drive. This time there was no significant overheating. Just went up to low 200s. Decided to submit a NHTSA complaint since dealership said they wouldn't be able to find anything wrong if no check engine light came on. Dangerous

Had just filled gas tank (1st time since we purchased the vehicle on 6/9/21). Stopped at traffic light. Engine quit and dashboard message advised to put car in park and push start button. Car started but quit almost immediately. While in park tried to rev engine, but got minimal response. When traffic light changed, proceeded forward. "Transmission Service Needed" message appeared, and D (Drive) on gearshift and on dashboard started blinking. Check Engine light was, (and remains) on. Car quit 3rd time, same "Transmission Service Needed" message appeared. When I got home, put car in reverse to back into driveway, got aloud clunking sound. Shut off engine and kept it off for 30-40 minutes. Started the car again and took it around the block, but none of the previous issues repeated.
