My Jeep has a hard shift ever since we bought it in 2014. I've taken it to the dealership several time and they can't fix it. They have record of how many times I've brought it in.

The vehicle lurches forward when I come to a complete stop and entire cabin also vibrates when stopped. I can feel some thing is wrong as I am driving, as if the gears aren't shifting appropriately while driving city streets. Vehicle is used and purchased through carmax about a year ago. However I've been having issues 4-6 months of purchasing and have taken it to a dealership several times and finally back to carmax, carmax advised they couldn't do any thing, the problem (whatever it was) would have to be handled through a Jeep dealership.

When flat towing our 2014 Jeep Cherokee with active drive II on a rough road at a speed of approximately 45 mph, the car vibrated so badly it shook our 30,000 lb motorhome so badly that we had to completely stop the rig and then resume movement. The second time this happened we were on hwy 116 near petaluma, ca and we were in heavy traffic and the roadway had no verge. It was only by luck that we did not wreck or cause a wreck. Owner forums indicate this has happened to other Jeep Cherokee owners. Why doesn't Chrysler motors have to fix this? we could have been killed or killed someone. This happened three times in the sam general area but there was no safe place for us to pull over and disconnect the Jeep. Please help us.

I am reporting a very unsafe life threatening condition, my vehicle randomly stalls out and will not restart for several minutes. The first time it happened I had it towed to the dealership because I was afraid to drive it. They informed me that Jeep had a service bulletin for this exact concern and they had fixed it by reprogramming the PCM. I picked up the vehicle and about 4 days later the same thing happened while turning through a busy intersection almost causing a multi vehicle collision.seconds before the stall the red etc light came on. After the restart the etc light is off and the cel is on and the engine feels like it has reduced or no power. The stall always seems to happen on a turn. My vehicle is currently at the dealer but it appears that they have no idea what is happening. This vehicle is unsafe to drive and imposes a safety risk to everyone on the road.

Hello, my 2014 Cherokee sport, 38K miles, 2 wheel drive, has shut off on two different occasions within a 5-day period, without warning as I was driving on a busy road. Several warning lights flashed on the dash and suddenly the car turned off. I bought it used 6 months ago. There was a recall #S55 for the transmission, part software and part hardware, that was reported to be complete when I purchased the vehicle, but it sounds like it may not have been completed since I am still experiencing random loss of power to the vehicle. Or, perhaps the software upgrade part of the recall was complete, but the part was still not fixed. The local shop could not find anything, of course, and the dealer said that the problem was that the last oil change (2K miles ago) was with semi synthetic rather than synthetic oil, and that I needed to get the oil changed. That is one of the most bizarre things I have ever heard as a cause for engine cutting off. Any ideas? it feels like a death trap and I am too afraid to drive it. After two car shops have attempted to find an issue and still tell me that "everything checks out fine" (other than the oil) I am at a loss.

When I push the gas pedal to accelerate the vehicle does not speed up for some time, I can have the gas pedal pushed to the floor and there is a very long lag time for the car to speed up and switch gears, it is extremely dangerous, I have put in reverse several times to back out of my garage and the car will not go in reverse, the entire car thumps back and forth and hesitates and takes some time to get in gear, my radio has stopped working twice, touch screen blacked out recently while in motion, when attempting to pass a car I can not safely get my speed up, its a real lemon and dangerous, I am waiting to get rear ended, pushing on gas pedal and engine revs up real loud but car does not accelerate like a normal car would, purchased 7 month ago and seems to be having more issues every day, was in a drive through with car on, foot on brake, and car in drive and took foot off brake and hit gas pedal and car did not go like it was in neutral, I had to put in park, turn off and turn on again to put in drive, this vehicle is not safe, will take it in for recall repair tomorrow and if not repairable will be traded, do not purchase, looks nice but terrible transmission

While driving in the past week and a half the vehicle has turned off on me 5 times. The first 3 times I was driving on the street luckily I was able to coast to the side 2 of the times, not so lucky the other as I was stuck in a roundabout. The last two times occurred back to back on Sunday March 19, 2017 once I pulled out of my parking spot. I have photos of what happens. Monday March 21, 2017 the transmission light came on. I have not tried to drive it yet, but I will be taking it to the Jeep dealership here in elk grove, ca. I tried to take the pictures as soon as it happened. Vehicle did not turn off the day of the transmission light. Also on Friday March 18, 2017 I was completely locked out of the vehicle, my key fob did not work and I was unable to get into the car. It finally unlocked an hour after I was stuck outside of my gym at 1am in the morning.

I started my car to warm it up and in about five minutes time the car was on fire. The vehicle was parked in front of my home. The fire department was called and was able to put it out. Just a few days ago my insurance company told me the cause was due to an electrical malfunction. The car was a complete loss.

Reported our problem in May 2016 -- received a recall notice months afterward, however, dealership said "didn't apply to our vehicle" - we had exact stated problem on the recall notice - so confused, frustrated, not to mention afraid to take vehicle on long trips on expressways - we rent cars for this (our problem: Vehicle turned "off" completely in the middle of a busy expressway - we are lucky to be alive!)

When towed behind my 2012 fleetwood class a motorhome when you hit a bump on the road the Jeep starts to wobble back and forth uncontrollably. The onily way to stop the wobble is to stop the motorhome and Jeep in the road and then continue on after you check everything out. This happened 6-8 time from Maine to NY.1

I was driving down highway rt. 18 S at 8:30pm on Thursday November 10th when my panoramic sunroof exploded. It rained glass throughout the interior of my vehicle hitting myself and my 6 year old in the back seat. I was traveling approximately 70 mph when I heard the explosion and pulled off the highway to a shoulder. My fiance was following me and glass sprayed his car as well. The police were called as well as a tow truck. The police filed a report and checked the car for any obstructions.

Bought this car used January 1, 2016. The previous owner had it for a year and a half. Great condition, about 40,000 miles on it, carfax checked out and I bought it from a Chrysler dealership. On October 12, 2016, leaving work for the day, I drove about a block and the car shut off on me as I was leaving a stopped position. I had to put on my emergency lights and have cars go around me until it finally turned back on after several minutes of pressing the start button. Luckily, all three times this happened at a stop on city streets, but there's no way of knowing if this would happen on the interstate. But even sitting stalled in the road puts me at risk if a car behind me were to not expect a stopped car and crash into me. I had this same issue back on April 11, 2016 & July 7th. The dealership on those occasions determined that was a sensor that was 'over sensitive' saying the oil levels were low and it was shutting the car off as a precaution. They asked for me to come back in every 2,500 miles to readjust the sensor. That's incredibly inconvenient for my busy lifestyle and it's already been in the shop for this reason for two weeks. Today is the Oct. 15th and I won't have a chance to even schedule an appointment for a week. We bought this car because we're planning on starting a family, with all of the issues I'm having, I'm not even comfortable giving friends a ride. I love this car, but feel really ripped off by being sold a car with problems they won't or fix. Because I don't feel safe, I avoid the interstate and don't feel comfortable taking this car on any trips too far from home. Also would like to note that on the first occasion of taking this car to the dealership, they had to update two pages of software updates and two safety recalls they had not done before I purchased the vehicle from them. They did take care of this at that visit.

2014 Jeep Cherokee transmission jerks. Took it to the dealer and they claim it's working as intended because it's a new technology. This transmission jerks and is very sluggish. I almost had an accident turning left at a busy intersection. The car did not want to accelerate. Luckily incoming traffic slowed down enough for me to pass. I fail to believe that this is normal and also fail to believe that there's nothing the dealer can do. Apparently there are thousands of other Cherokee owners with the same problem. Add me to the list. Any suggestions on what else I can do?

I brought my Jeep in for the safety recall R40 radio security vulnerability on 9/16/16. They tried to do the software update 5 times over 4 and half hours. The result of the failure is not having access to the in car phone/rescue system, no navigation, no blue tooth, no radio or music access and no control over the heat/air vents, seat warmers or steering wheel warmer. I was told they needed to replace the radio. They told me it takes about 3-5 days. I followed up with them Wednesday 9/21/16, Thursday 9/22/16 and Friday 9/23/16, as they told me it was on the way and I should just try back the next day. On Friday 9/23/16 I was advised the part was back ordered and would not be there until the 1st week in October. On Tuesday 10/4 I was advised it still had not shipped and they expected it some time next week. Thursday 10/6 I was advised it's not scheduled to ship until 10/18. The continuous lies about when this will be fixed are exasperating. I feel unsafe in my car now and I have a 45 mile commute to and from work. I also pay for sirius radio and have been unable to use it since this happened.

On Wednesday morning, August 24th, 2016, my wife was driving our 2014 Jeep Cherokee latitude in traffic when for an unknown reason the vehicle stopped dead, no warning, no coasting to a stop, an immediate very abrupt stop. The steering wheel locked up, the front wheel drive system locked up, the vehicle was unresponsive to any driver commands. My wife had to seek assistance in moving the vehicle to a safe location out of the traffic lanes. We seriously believe that this unintended and uncontrollable vehicle action is a safety issue inherent within this model of 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Upon diagnosis by the local fca dealer, we were informed that the vehicles oem battery failed the load test and would be replaced under the Jeep factory warranty, battery part number bb94R750-aa. The dealers service representatives seemed to be unconcerned with what in our opinion is a serious design flaw with this vehicle. The vehicle has received 3 previous software updates under factory warranty due to safety recalls.
