FCA recognizes that there is a problem which relates to motor vehicle safety in the 2015 Jeep Cherokee models.

The radio in this vehicle has a software vulnerability which could allow unauthorized third party remote modification and control of the vehicle systems. These manipulations could lead to accidents with potential harm to the driver and occupants in the vehicle.

Any undesired vehicle behavior that may be caused by a hacker would undoubtly panic the driver and could cause a crash without a warning.

The Uconnect feature in these cars make them truly unsafe. Worse of all that it controls other important systems in the car.

Will the radio software update provided by the FCA fix the problem? for how long? Will it require regular updates for the rest of the life of the car?. If this is so, it will be more than inconvenience, and quite an expensive one.

Another annoying problem is the radio which cannot be turned off; just muted. Therefore anytime you turn on the engine the radio is on. I do not know how many other features Uconnect provides, but to me they become more like distractions.
