After two inspections by Jeep service depts. Both service managers acknowledge the noise. The Latitude and Grand Cherokee does not have the noise. Jeep Corp advises them this is a characteristic of the vehicle. I have disputed this with Jeep stating it is a design flaw,. They say it is a characteristic of the design. Plainly put, a play on words to cover their error. Offered me 15% of factory invoice to trade on a Grand Cherokee. Problem is, we would lose 7K in the transaction on a vehicle owned for four months. Putting painters tape around the interior of the seal by the hatch greatly reduces the noise. A local body shop advised, the gasket or seal was making minimal contact with the edges and the hatch was not aligned properly. The could fix it, however, the bill would be on us. Took it to a Jeep body shop. However, they will not even look at it. Stating the Service Dept has to fix it due to the warranty. So, here we are back at the beginning of this Catch 22. Hating this vehicle more every day, when we should be loving it. Let me add, we have been Jeep owners for 24 years and have been highly satisfied. Which is why we purchased another Jeep. Couldn't be less satisfied both with quality and customer service. Has anyone else experienced this issue? This model does have the handless entry on the hatch.
