Cherokee 3.2L V6

I have 2 Keyless Entry remote fobs. Recently they stopped working but not entirely they will lock and unlock my doors but WILL NOT START CAR and WILL NOT OPEN HATCH. I went to the dealer with new batteries they check the batteries they read 3.25 they were good he tested the fob on a machine and said the remote start and the hatch are not responding but the lock and unlock are working on the handheld device I seen the lights turn green.

I asked if it is possible that the FOB lost it's ability to communicate withe the car he said no. I asked if there could be an interference issue the signal that is transmitted, I said could it be my cell phone ore E-Pass he said possible my cell phone if it is in the same pocket as my key fob. Ok will buy that but the other fob is the spare and never leaves the house. I asked if they could reprogram my FOB, was told no once it is programed they can't do it again

While I was at the counter an older lady came in panicked said she could not get in her car it would not open the counter guy at the dealership said do you have your keys?, She replied I always carry them with me. I assume she is experiencing the same issue as me only it affected her locks.

Then I found out online that they had a problem with hacked uconnect systems and the FCA sent out an over-the air update to block remote access to all vehicles systems. COULD THIS BE THE PROBLEM? They recalled 1.4 million vehicles with those uConnects by sending owners usb drives and instructions on how to update the system. I DID NOT GET ONE.

After all this I called Jeep customer care and was told they are aware of the issue and they sent newsbulletin to all the dealer to update or reprogram the Fobs forget the exact wording. Now I have to go back to the dealer and tell them to read new bulletin. Something is not right here.

If anyone wants to contact me to verify or tell me how they got the problem fixed outdiving@hotmail.com
