Cherokee Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

The Start / Stop feature, which I hate, has now drained that portion of the battery that it uses to function. The battery is less than two years old, but because the battery was replaced in 2017 under warranty, this new battery is not covered. The warning lights comes on all the time, even though we use the button to turn the feature off. Jeep says only way to stop it is replace the expensive AGM battery. Estimated cost over $300. Ridiculous that any battery would cost that much, and to make it worse, it comes with a two year warranty. And can you believe the dealer has to order it and ETA is a month away? I will simply drive this battery until it is dead (other than start / stop feature, battery is in good condition); It's just very aggravating 1. That they give you no choice about disengaging the system completely 2. That they would put such an expensive battery on this model of Cherokee 3. That I have to remember to turn the S/S system off every time I start the vehicle.
