I have a 2006 Nissan Altima that I've had since it was brand new and the only thing I've had to fix was the A/C right before I bought the Jeep.

total engine failue (main computer shut down) On April 18th the day the incident happen

On April 18 between the hours of 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm traveling about 37 miles an hour the car just started to shoot out messages so fast I couldn’t read them, and at the same time the car lost off all controls, no brakes, no acceleration, no power steering, the car was dead in less than 10 seconds. I didn’t even have time to get the car out of traffic.

I tried to get the car over to the shoulder but couldn’t make it, the rear of the car was out in the street, drivers angrily blowing their horns and shouting at me to get out of the street. The traffic was very heavy but moving. If this happen on the freeway God knows what would happen, or if I had been coming down one of the passes as we had planned for a one of our day outing, this happen right at 12th and Yesler.

I was stuck in the car because the traffic was so heavy, the cars and truck was coming by me so close I thought the car was going to get hit by one of them. I told the road side service people I couldn’t get out of the car. They told me to stay in the car until help arrive.

The car was towed to Bud Clary dealership at about 6:00 pm that evening. The service department had closed when we go there. When I got to the dealership I asked to talk to a mechanic but one of the service agents came over to me and told me that the car had a totally engine failure. The main computer had shut down. (see Attachment 8).

He went on to say the car started up this morning fine and they test drove it and it ran fine. He said but when they did a computer diagnostic on the car the computer showed that there was a complete main computer shut down, a total engine failure.
