Cherokee V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

The transmission has always shifted hard but this was beyond just shifting hard. It seems to always happen when driving & slowing down, but not stopping & then accelerating again. Always happens when in motion & then accelerating. The car would stop accelerating & only run at about 20 mph. My mechanic discovered that ALL 3 engine motor mounts had broken & upon acceleration engine was pulling away from electronics.

I had to replace motor mounts & rewire wire harness from controls to engine. A couple months after fixing, it started again & mechanic had to replace some crankcase sensors. It ran fine for months. Now having thumping upon acceleration while moving again & dealer said (I just moved so had to go to Jeep dealer) engine mounts were all OK & did something to adjust transmission but it's still doing it. I wish someone could tell me if it is my transmission? If anyone else experienced with this, and what did you do to solve?
