Cherokee 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 112,000 miles

Driving down the interstate went to switch lanes, steering wheel locked up like it had no power steering. Barely got it home. Almost hit a few people because the steering was not/barely turning. At home turned it off then tried turning it back on nothing. Get it towed and motor mounds and transmission mounds needed to be replaced. Complained about the jerking motion in my jeep on numerous occasions. They “fixed” something and still no remedy.

Cherokee Limited 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 11,000 miles

The transmission went on this car at 2800 miles. Fast forward to exactly one year to the day of the tranny fiasco. I was driving 15 mph and suddenly I had no steering. The lower ball joint had WORN AWAY. Luckily I wasn't going 70 on the Mass Pike when it happened or there would have been 3 obits in the paper. The officer said it had worn away. The service manager said it possibly could have been caused by improper torquing at the factory or by the dealership replacing the tranny.

I have no way of proving either but this car is a TOTAL DEATH TRAP. I guess I now have the problem of getting rid of it!

THANKS CHRYSLER!
