This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Jeep dealer.
The problem started at 37k, been in to Jeep UK 4 times total cost up to now £3200 with no remedy. Back in again had software update, Jeep said it is fixed. They where delivering it back to me, transmission failed again they broke down themselves. Is there a fix?

We love our Jeep, but didn't realize we bought the first year model (2014/2015 are the same things), and a number of our friends liked our Jeep so much they bought their own. Fortunately, they all bought 2018 thru 2020 models, and have had no problems with theirs. It's always best to stay away from first year models...

No Warning...we stopped to get gas on way home from church, when my husband cranked it back up the Service Parking Brake, Service Transmission, and 4WD Disabled lights came on and there was no acceleration. We had to have it towed to the dealership...they called the next day and said they did a system update and the lights were off, and i took it home...oh yeah...and it was shifting hard when we did try to get it to accelerate...even just putting it in drive, the entire vehicle lurched.

I parked my Jeep after driving an hour from work Monday afternoon and when I cranked it back up, the Service Transmission, Service Parking Brake, and 4WD Temporarily Unavailable lights came on. The vehicle would not accelerate. This is the 2nd time this has happened in 2 weeks! I was thankful that I was parked, however, as much as I drive (commute to work and travel for my job), I cannot fear being stranded. There was no warning. And since there was no acceleration it had to be towed.
The first time (2 weeks ago) this happened and I got it fixed, the dealership said it was a system update. This time they told me that a cell in the battery was bad and they needed to replace the battery. Of course that was not covered under the warranty.
I asked why they didn't replace the battery 2 weeks ago and I was told that it was because the vehicle was throwing different codes this time. And I questioned how it can throw different codes but give me the exact same warnings and do the exact same thing. What was the answer? shrugged shoulders....and then proceeded to tell me that it could've been because of the car charger that I was using to charge my phone and not to use it for a couple of days to see what happens. WHAT????!!! REALLY??!! I know I'm no mechanic, but seriously, could a car charger cause my transmission to completely shut down? and is "let's see what happens" an acceptable answer? Of course not...
But of course I've only had this vehicle for a year and would be upside down on the trade. I'm so frustrated...and now I back in to park everywhere I go just in case it has to be towed again.

Pulled up on a stop light, after accelerating cars rpms were going up and it stopped in the middle of an intersection.
Took Chrysler roadside assistance 3 1/2 hours to get the vehicle towed. Took the local dealership 3 days to figure out what's wrong.
This is my last Jeep, I will never buy one again.

"Software" (if you believe that) problems started almost immediately after purchase of new Cherokee from authorized dealer in Houston, TX..
The FIRST (of many and various) recall, took full week to reprogram transmission because Dealer Service Department overwhelmed.
Was informed by service manager that recalls on brand-new vehicles is "how the manufacturer works the bugs out".
No "loaner car" provided. Had to rent alternative transportation at my own expense.
Six months after purchase, had to have transmission replaced. Took to a different dealer (again, another week with no "loaner car").
Service Department told me that I had gotten "more mileage than other owners". And, that "the manufacturer will be glad to have my unit back to do research and development".
With about one month left on the manufacturers warranty, a "sensor" had to be replaced due to "abrasion" of some connecting cable. That took another week.
Sluggish and abrupt performance issues were never corrected with multiple "re-programming's" and replacement of a less than one-year old transmission with "a better unit".
Now out of warranty, the transmission has begun "growling", "sighing", and abruptly falling out of gear when coming to a full stop (e.g. at a stop sign).
Would gladly pay to junk this transmission and replace it with something reliable; even if it is "old school" or less "innovative". Have been trying to find some "transmission place" that can do this. But, so far no luck.
Otherwise, I'm really looking forward to the trade-in for a less "technology advanced" vehicle from ANYONE other than AMC/Chrysler/Jeep as soon as possible.
PS - There have been other recalls (e.g. potential fire hazard of rear door circuitry) that i have had to ignore due to the inconvenience of Jeep dealership service departments.
Would suggest "working the bugs out" BEFORE you sell the product.
