Service shifter light comes on. Need to turn off vehicle and restart. If light is on and vehicle running the shifting is hard and steering is loose

I purchased this vehicle two weeks ago from a certified used car dealership. The vehicle has 54000 miles on it. From day one, it has had an intermediate long start. Took it back to the dealership who stated it needed a new battery. Replaced the battery, did not fix the long start. New problem occurred yesterday (2 days after replacing the battery), the car stalled in the middle of the interstate while driving!!!! luckily the car behind me was paying attention and did not rear-end me. No warning, just stopped. The dash flashed "shift to drive". I was already in gear. After about 30 seconds of trying to start the car, the car started back. It took an additional 10-15 seconds for the car to actually move even though I was pushing the gas pedal. I was finally able to drive it home. The oil was changed 1000 miles ago. No stored codes, no check engine light, no warning before the incident happened....nothing!!! I have called several dealerships and read multiple forums with no result being found. The car goes to the dealership today but I was told if the car is not throwing any faults, it is going to be hard to diagnose. This is a huge safety concern and I do not feel safe driving this vehicle as it is going to cause a wreck.

While driving my Jeep a warning popped on the dash stating to service shifter. My car decided to have the brakes lock up and dash showed car was in park while the shifter clearly showed it was in drive. Thank god I was not going more than 15mph when this happened as we had just pulled out of the driveway and started to accelerate. My 5 year old was in the car with me. We or someone else could have been seriously hurt!

My service shifter message has been staying on. When it first started giving the message it would go off when I cut the vehicle off and I wouldn't get the message again for a while but now it is staying on. I've also been having issues with the transmission shifting really hard sometimes but only when I get the service shifter message.

My car will read 'service shifter' and all the lights will come on for all the different gears. Someone I know has the same make/model/and year of my car and there car did this and then when she was going 70mph her car slammed by it's self into park at no warning. This terrifies me to drive this car. Especially because I am getting the same 'service shifter' notification. She ended of wrecking the car and almost hitting a semi on the highway, I do not want this to happen to me.

The back up camera gets snowy at time - you can not tell what you are looking at when trying to back out of a spot where you can not see around other cars - various time when putting in reverse - radio volume takes a minute to adjust at various time - radio has been replaced - has been happening for several months on and off

This Jeep Cherokee oil is evaporating causing my car to cut off in the middle of the high way. I check my oil every other day. My oil evaporates while driving I have had the car checked for oil leaks 5 times. This vehicle also cuts off and say shifter and I have to pull over turn the vehicle off let sit for 5 minutes then restart. I have also had to get a tune up at 50000 miles due to manufactural defect according to my mechanic an alert showed them what was wrong. I have almost been struck by other vehicles while I am trying to get over lanes to pull on the side of the road. This is a safety issue so much so I will not drive with my grown children and definitly not my grandchildren.

When coming to a stop on a city street my vehicle dinged, turned off and a message displayed on the dash 'shift to park or neutral, press brake, select gear'. I could not use my steering wheel or breaks during this time. I put the vehicle in park, turned the ignition off and full took my key out. Then attempted to start it. I only heard a slight sound but no turn over. I repeated this step and this time, after momentarily sputtering, I was able to give the car gas and it stayed on. I could smell oil at this point. It seems this is related to excessive oil consumption, which triggers the car to shut off to protect the engine. Except the oil level in the vehicle is fine and there are no prior warnings before this happens.
