1. Component/system failed: PTU 2. My vehicle completely shut off and became disabled while driving - this put my safety and the safety of others at risk. 3. The problem was confirmed at the dealership. 4. The vehicle has been inspected by certified mechanics at the dealership. 5. There were no prior warning lights or signs/symptoms of the problem before failure.

PCM fails intermittently. Dealership is replacing it and has the defective one. Safety is definitely an issue because the vehicle stalls without adequate time to pull off of the road. Unable to move it off the road because it does not engage the transmission. Dealer has been able to replicate and confirmed the problem. Component has not been inspected by anyone other than the mechanic at the dealership. Several warning lights go off just as the problem occurs but not in time to get out of unsafe situations. Recall #18V524000 on 8/8/2018 covers the problem I am experiencing but my vehicle is not in the VIN series covered by the recall. I strongly believe the series my car belongs to should be included. This is a safety issue.

08/31/2023 my car was overheating and making a gurgling sound. I took it to a shop 9/1/2023, got it inspected and it was the heater hose. It got fixed. Now 8 months later this month 5/20/2024 my Jeep is having same issues with the car overheating. This is really risky for me especially when I take my daughter and nieces to school. I use my car to get to work. It is currently getting inspected again. I'm concern if this is a problem with the coolant system in all" I got this Jeep used at a dealership 10/2022. I have been googling what can I do, if there is a possibility that it has a recall" I came across this website. If someone can help me please. Thank you!

On multiple separate occasions, the engine and transmission have failed catastrophically leaving the vehicle without power and unable to perform emergency maneuvers. After only months of owning the vehicle, the engine block cracked and was misdiagnosed by dealer 2 times. I was forced to drive the faulty and dangerous vehicle 1.5hrs back to the dealer on a busy interstate and vehicle was improperly repaired with very little actual diagnosis. AUL warranty covered engine replacement and I was unable to drive the vehicle for up to 4 months as a result. I finally got my vehicle back and drove it for approximately 4 months, and now the PTU has failed totally, causing me to lose control while cornering due to loss of power to the wheels, transmission began to grind badly and the vehicle rolled freely for a long distance before stopping via brake pedal. I was then stranded on a very remote gravel road for hours in the middle of the night waiting for assistance and unable to call for help or drive the vehicle. Dealer states PTU failed and entire transmission and transfer case will be replaced under AUL warranty. No warning lamps were illuminated before, during, or after the malfunction despite the obviously failed PTU. Many other Jeep Cherokee KL 2019 owners have reported similar failures at as low as 60k miles. The cost of repair has nearly surpassed the price I paid for the vehicle. I have lost 2000+ paying car payments on a vehicle that is unsafe and unreliable. No recalls or service bulletins related to either issue have been made available. This model and year of vehicle is extremely dangerous and an overpriced ripoff as well.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Engine, yes. has not been repaired yet While driving on the freeway between Phoenix and Flagstaff at around 75mph (speed limit). The engine completely failed causing me to have to pull over to the side of the road on a hill, luckly there was enough of a shoulder on the road to pull off safely and await a tow. Car would not start after the engine failed. Upon towing the car to a dealership I was informed that they found metal through the engine and it will require the engine to be replaced. I took my vehicle to a local dealership to have the "auto stop start" system checked. I had a dashboard warning light indicating the system was not working correctly. No other warnings signals were displayed. The dealership performed a diagnostic check but found no problems with the "auto start stop system". The day after I picked up my car, I drove for ten miles and the car overheated. I contacted the dealership and was told to check radiator fluid and drive the car back if possible. I found no radiator fluid in the car. My car required a full engine replacement and several subsequent repairs to exhaust system and driveshaft. An engine can overheat and seize which can cause drivers to lose control and crash. Please note: The original engine was part of recall for oil consumption. Prior to the recall update, I experienced stalling in traffic without warning due to the engine recall.

While driving along, my jeep will suddenly lose all power, making it necessary to stop, place it in park, press my foot on the brake and re-start. There is absolutely no warning, no chugging or hesitation, it just dies. This is random and has occurred 4 times now. There has not seemed to be a pattern. The first time, I left my dooryard and within a couple hundred feet, it happend. The second time, I had been driving about a mile and it happened, the third time I had driven about 3 miles and it happend and this last time (this morning)my vehicle had been running idle for about 15 min, I drove about 5 miles and it just suddenly died. All of these events occurred without any kind of warning.

I have a 2019 jeep cherokee 4wd with 46077 miles. This has never happened before until now. It was dark out heading to work. I came to a stop when I went to go the jeep just literally shut down. Everything turned off- I had no lights, no engine, no warning at all. Would not start at all. I called my husband and when I opened the driver door the jeeps dash finally came on and I tried to start it, wouldn't at first than tried again it started. I turned around and drove back home. Contacted the garage. This is unsafe for anyone to put their life on the line. I was lucky I didn't get hit. I have 5 grandkids and this is not a safe vehicle to drive when there is no warning at all. Luckily It didn't do this on the railroad tracks. The garage told me to take back to the dealership. The dealership said there are no recalls on my vehicle. However, I see other jeep cherokee with the same issues and have recalls. Why risk my life or anyone else. All jeep cherokees of any year or engine size should be taken seriously.

My battery went out and I literally replaced it last year. Also when I replaced it last year the back light would stay on sometimes all night and day I was worried it could start a fire or something dealer didn't even bother checking it and left it like that and replaced the battery. Last month my vehicle wouldn't start and no warning or nothing before it just died on me good thing I had it in my driveway when this happened.
