The contact owns a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the front and rear driver side window and also the front and rear passenger side window failed to open and close. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (bachman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram located at 630 broadway St, jeffersonville, in 47130) where the dealer stated that the contact had to pay for the charges. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted at 800-992-1997 and was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer asked the contact to call the NHTSA hotline. A case number was not provided. The approximate failure mileage was 151,000.

The break tail lamp shots out and had to replace the unit twice this year and the was wiring shots to the break light and it cost me $1500 for the break light wiring shot and the tail light assemble. I have had this problem for 3 yrs consecutive and I think it is a safety issue since it is the breaks lighting and their has been multiple complaints about the same issue for this vehicle on line. I think that Chrysler should recall all this vehicles and rewire them for free since it is a safety fitcher. The whole break wiring had melted because it had a shot and burnt the bulb sockets and assemble unit

The contact owns a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle jerked and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the crank shaft sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. A local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 04V112000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. The VIN was not available.

Takata recall while driving my steering wheel is very loose shakes when I use the brake peddle. Pulls me left then jerks be to the right or vise versa. This is very scary. I have kids that depend on me to get them from school bus stop etc I do not feel safe driving my own vehicle I've put 2 sets of new tires on my Jeep since February of this year 2017. My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee interior lights stay on and windows will not work. Have had this problem fixed 2 times now and it has happened again. On the internet it says it is a flaw in the wiring harness. A black ground wire breaks. Also the vehicle is developing the death wobble where going down the road if you hit a bump the front end shakes violently. Had this same problem on my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Very dangerous.

Front passenger side door wiring harness broke at 165,150 miles. (this has happened on the driver side of my 1999 Jeep also). Many complaints on the internet of this very problem!!! happens to almost all Jeep at some point. Too short of wiring harness and/or brittle of wires. This repeating problem needs to be a recall for all of the door wiring harnesses. When this happens, doors do not lock, windows can not be raised or lowered, back hatch or window cannot be opened. If there is a pet in the far back and a pet fence is in place up front, you cannot get to the pet!!! please make this a recall to fix. Thank you. Jeep/Chrysler needs to be held accountable.

While in motion driving on a busy two way city roadway street, the vehicle lost power, lost brakes, no steering and no electrical while in motion, that endangered my life from a head on collision. Currently no power, the windows are open, the windshield wipers are stuck.

In addition, the service engine warning light only illuminated moments before the engine failed and the vehicle was unable to be driven. While driving 65 mph, another motorist alerted the contact that the vehicle was overheating and smoking. The contact was able to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road. The service engine light illuminated shortly before the vehicle stalled completely and failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic who diagnosed that there was an engine failure. The contact was advised to check with the manufacturer or a dealer to determine what caused the failure and for a solution to repair the vehicle. The contact was unable to determine who would repair the vehicle. The manufacturer provided no repair solution. The approximate failure mileage was 100,770.

Replaced tail light housing units only to have them go bad again. Wire harness needed to be replaced numeral times, electrical system for doors and windows had to be replaced numeral times. Gauges on dash board wouldn't work half the time. Just had a mva with a deer and extensive damage to the front of the car and no airbags were deployed, the accident was so extensive that the car was totaled!

3 times now I have had the wires that run through the rubber boot in the passenger door break causing loss of power to passenger side windows, door locks, side mirrors and interior lights not turning off.
