My paint on the roof of my Jeep Grand Cherokee started bubbling and visible rust started appearing. After about a month my windshield cracked all the way across starting from where the rust made the paint bubble, this is the only part of the vehicle with any rust. I had USAA send Safelite to come repair my windshield and what I thought was minor rust damage. To my horror the damage from the bad paint/seal was extensive and the windshield can-??t be replaced until the body of the Jeep is fixed. The windshield needing replaced is the original from the factory no part of my Jeep has ever been replaced, the only reason it needs to be fixed is because of the faulty paint/seal. I now have no windshield or drivable car. I have reached out and there are quite a few Jeep owners that experienced this same issue in the same exact location. It is now being held on by tape so there isn-??t just a huge hole in the car. The day it cracked the vehicle had not left my driveway, but now my car is not in a state to drive anywhere. Also in outside temperatures exceeding 80 the seat belt warning light and air bag light come on, sometimes it stays sometimes it goes away. However when the airbag light is on it prevents them from deploying in case of an incident which could cause more serious injury or death. I have three open recalls as well, I call Roberson Jeep of Salem in March of 2021, I have not heard anything about the parts being ready, I called in June 2021 about an update and they have not started my claim.

SUV entered intersection on a city street.and was struck on the right front panel. I believe the car spun to the left and clipped the rear end of the truck. SUV came to rest with front end against a tree. I was doing approx 25 mph. The truck that struck me appeared to be going a bit faster. None of the airbags deployed. I suffered broken bones in my neck. The consumer provided photos.

The leather covering on the dashboard shrank, crumpled and wrinkled popping the air vent coverings out. The problem not only restricts air flow (defrosting, etc) it also may prevent the deployment of airbags. It looks horrible and decreases the value of my car, but it presents safety issues. The company has acknowledged the problem and approved my vehicle for repair, but they have also restricted the number or repair kits available and I have been waiting for months and am told it could be months more. They will not give a date.this was a manufacturing defect. I need it to be fixed and they have deliberately restricted the number of parts available to customers with defective automobiles. In addition, my vehicle has a fuel pump relay recall. This part has also not been available for months and has no predicted delivery date. I don't believe it is acceptable to acknowledge the issues, then deliberately slow production of the parts required for repairs. Both the dealership and fca customer service say that there is nothing they can do for me. Obviously this issue needs to be addressed at a higher level, but there is not an option for that in the phone tree. I need my car fixed.

Air ride suspension airbags has to be recharged every month since 2019. While parked front end becomes low (during 1-month period) not leaving appropriate distance from wheel to top of wheel well, resulting is a very bumping ride, until recharged. Brand new oem lines and compressor replaced. Also, while driving 40 mph or less, "air suspension needs service" notification comes on. Front of hood (where the chrome Jeep is displayed) exterior now shows paint corrosion.

On my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee at speeds above 65 a loud buzzing noise is created as result of poor sealing between the windshield glass and the flexible seal at the bottom of the windshield. When tape was applied across the seal at the lower windshield the noise was eliminated. On newer models of the same style the seal has been redesigned.

Leather dashboard is separating from dashboard and may cause issue if airbag should deploy. This defect has been on the news. I filed a complaint with Chrysler in 2016. Since then, I've made trips to the dealership only to have the person submitting pictures be terminated. Now Chrysler will not respond to my requests to have this fixed. I've kept all communication. There's no way with the entire leather dash separating from the dash the passenger airbag be able to deploy properly. I've followed up and been as patient as possible looking for a remedy.

Is there a remedy from Jeep that addresses the buckling leather dash and driver back panel? I would like replacement of the dash and a new seat. I believe the seat problem is not the panel, but the seat itself. The dash buckling is a hazard to obstructing the drivers vision of the roadway and the seat back falling off can hurt a backseat passenger. As a child acidentaly grabs it to climb into the backseat he would fall.

Over a period of one week, both of the tubular side steps broke off my Jeep. In one case, I was standing on the driver's side tubular side step in order to reach a windshield wiper. With no warning, the entire tube dislodged from all three brackets and fell to the ground with me falling too. One week later, while picking up a customer at his hotel, he used the passenger side tubular side step to help him enter the car. Again, with no warning the tube broke off and fell to the ground. My customer was injured pretty badly as his shin was cut open by one of the mounting brackets for the tubular side step. Upon inspection of both tubes, it is evident that the tubes are very light wall and corroded away in the vicinity of each fastener, allowing the fasteners to pull right through the tube wall. What worries me is that there was no warning. Neither tube showed any signs of being loose. The fasteners were (still are) tightly secured to the mounting brackets. With this type of "no warning" failure, one can imagine what would happen if a Jeep is driving down the road and a tubular side step falls off. I would think that would be a major safety concern. Fyi - my local Jeep dealer expressed their condolences, but stated that on a 7 year old vehicle that would not be Jeep's issue if it corroded and fell off. I suggested that the tubular side step falling off could have the same devastating effect as a bumper falling off. It was suggested that I should engage the dealer in more frequent multi-point inspections. Yet, they confirmed that checking the side steps is not on the multi-point list. I'm making you aware of this because I couldn't live with myself if I didn't report it and later heard of a death or injury as a result of this happening to another Jeep owner or to an innocent victim.

On May 28, 2016 while navigating my driveway, my car suddenly accelerated forward and crashed into the back wall of my garage. Damage was done to my home and my car. I had no control over the vehicle. Hitting the brake and trying to hit the ignition button did nothing to stop the vehicle. On another occasion, about two weeks earlier, I had parked the car at walmart, pressed the brake and the ignition button to turn it off. While in park and the engine off, the vehicle lurched forward and bumped the SUV sitting in front of me. I am now afraid to drive this vehicle! I have reported this incident to my local auto dealership and chysler Corp. The damage is being repaired at my cost.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 2011 - serious front critical suspension connectivity point corrosion / binding (latest 12/2015) very serious problem, extensive corrosion with key front suspension connectivity (lower control arm main bolt/frame connection, both sides). Issue so bad an ever-growing binding creaking noise became audible from the cabin. Sound audible when accelerating and stopping. Several dealer efforts to begin to address with service efforts spanning nearly 1.5 years. Very concerning as this is a critical suspension connectivity point, if it fails the front end would collapse. Servicing dealer victory Chrysler able to diagnose shared how extensive corrosion is but could not explain why this corrosion and binding occurred. Suggested we speak to Chrysler, which we did to no avail (see other attached). We asked Chrysler to investigate, they did not. We shared very much detail just as done here. We asked for monies spent returned as this was not covered under warranty, they did not return monies. At minimum this is a serious water control issue, and at worst a serious design/manufacturing defect which could affect thousands. No fix shared, victory Chrysler noted to us the best they can do is pull the bolts again in the future and clean/lube if possible. Notice at 1:40, in the video clip following, the recording on the colder day how loud it is. There is no reason for such severe corrosion here aside from a design flaw or manufacturing issue. We appreciate NHTSA's time to review our report and help seek resolution. Short video clip illustrating noise heard: 78449.choruscall.com/dataconf/productusers/ecarmack/media/nhtsa_dec_2015.MP4 Chrysler case #[xxx] thank you!!! information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
