Prior to receiving the current recall on my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I was merging onto the freeway and my Jeep lost complete power. I started to panic because there was nothing I could do to control my Jeep. Luckily, I was on the outside lane and just coasted to a stop. Then, I sat there for about 10 minutes while I called my wife to let her know she would need to come get me. Then, I went to see if my Jeep would drive one more time and it drove off just fine. Then, when I received this notice I called the Jeep dealership to ask them to fix my Jeep due tot he recall and they told me that they were waiting on parts and would let me know when they come in. However, now my air bag lights are on as well as my traction control light is on. I also intermittently when I push on my brakes it will feel as if I have been rear-ended. When I look behind me there is nothing there that would indicate I have been rear-ended.

I was out driving from the grocery store and I was pressing on the breaks to turn a curve the vehicle speeded up. I was originally going 25 mph and started to slow up because I was approaching a curve but instead of it slowing down it sped up to 35mph while going around a curve. Thank god no one else was on the road at that time. Two weeks later my husband stated that when he was driving the vehicle the same exact then happened to him. At that time we took the vehicle back to gilman Chrysler and Jeep in houston tx where we purchased the vehicle from (8/10/14). They claim they tested the vehicle and found nothing wrong with it. My husband and I kept explaining to the service guy that something is wrong with the vehicle and we don't want to get into an accident for an issue that can be resolved. The service guy stated that they did all they could but they will keep our information on file. I am very upset with this situation. My husband and I have three children in which are in this vehicle all the time. There have been several recalls on this vehicle and none of which have been repaired because gilman Chrysler would state they don't have the part or they don't see a recall at this time. I want something to be done about this now before something terrible happens. I will not let this situation go. I will continue to fight for a resolution until someone resolves it. Please contact me immediately about this situation as this is the only vehicle that we have.

The vehicle stalls while driving. When this happens, it is very difficult to steer the vehicle safely out of harms way. I am in fear for the safety of myself and my family. I have had several close calls where we almost caused an accident. The fuel pump relay switch was replaced by recall and the vehicle is still stalling. I have contacted Jeep customer care via email and by phone and they will not give me a case number. I take the vehicle to the dealer and they cannot find anything wrong with the car. I don't want to sell the car knowing whoever purchases it could be seriously injured or killed.

This is the sixth time, today, 9/13/15. I haven't been killed yet, but it's a future possibility. My Jeep loses power and will not steer. It happened with my mom and my only child in the Jeep. Chrysler tells me every time to take it to the local dealer, quirk Jeep in marshfield, MA. I do. They run the ever popular 'diagnostics' and find nothing wrong with it. Yet, it keeps happening! the last time it happened, I was on the highway during rush hour traffic. State police would not allow me to wait for aaa so I had to pay out of pocket $120 to be towed off the road by some neanderthal in a tow truck. What can I do before I am killed by this vehicle? last time it happened was in early August of this year. I contacted Jeep with this email and was told to take it in to the dealer for 'diagnostics.' I did and they found no problem again! my Jeep is again losing speed and power steering. It is random. I am driving along and it loses acceleration and power steering. I am terrified to drive on the highway expect in the far right lane at minimal speeds. This is a problem because I am a travelling salesperson and must be on the road all day, five days a week. I travel up to 200 miles a day. As I indicated back in December, this is my fifth Jeep. Quirk says all the recalls on my vehicle have been done and their diagnostics can find no reason for the loss of power. However, it is happening and it is extremely dangerous. Originally, when this first started happening, shortly after I bought this pre-owned Jeep, I was told the tipm recall would correct these problems. Obviously, it has not. Addition, I have random issues with my key not working or my car refusing to turn on. I am a single mom who has to work. I do not have the financial ability to buy a new vehicle and junk this Jeep. I need this vehicle to work as it is supposed to work.

This is the second time I've been in my home which has a connected garage and gone out in the garage to find the engine running and I know for sure it was off when parked. I believe the issue is with the key fob and other items in my pocket it's possible to inadvertently cause the key fob's remote start to be pushed in the sequence needed to remotely start the vehicle. At that point the vehicle is running and you have no idea. This could result in death if the door to the garage leaks and there's a build up of carbon monoxide. I've also experienced beeps from the cars horn like you receive when locking the vehicle with the key fob so I know it was most likely inadvertently started. Very unsafe.

While driving 55 mph on the freeway the ESC light came on and then my engine stalled, power steering and brakes shut off. I had to get to the side of the road and slowly coast to the exit! with my two kids (both under 4) in the car. Talk about scary!!!! I had my car towed to a Jeep service center and after 4 days with my car - they said they could not duplicate nor find any issues. I had to pay $200 for that answer.which I was not happy with!!! then today (July 12, 2015) while slowing down at a stop light - the same thing happened again!!!!!

I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2011, with 58K miles, and my "ser 4 wd" and traction control lights are on. What could be the cause of this" the truck shut off while I was driving. The dealers told me when they checked it they find nothing wrong and maybe the spark plugs needed to be change. My back up camera works sometimes. When I asked why is this happening they told me maybe the circuit board may be bad. My head lights keeps going out ever 3 months, when I asked they told me there is nothing wrong with the lights, I may need to changed the bulbs to Chrysler bulbs. What is going on with Chrysler vehicles and why every time you go to the dealer with a known problem, they charge you a diagnostic fee of $125"

On or about April 20, 2015 I had just driven my Jeep about 20 miles to get groceries came home unloaded and went back to start Jeep to go pick up grand daughter at school and the Jeep would not start. It would crank for about 30 seconds and then stop. Tried to start 5 or 6 times. Took my truck to get grand daughter. Called Chrysler and they sent dealer to get Jeep. About an hour later Jeep started then but they took it to check it out. After 5 days they told me I need a new battery. They wanted $355.31 for new battery. Took Jeep to 2 parts stores and they checked the battery and said it was stronger than what was posted on battery. On May 7, 2015 I was out at store and Jeep would not start. Tried about 6 or 7 times and then it started without my foot on brake but would not go into gear. Restarted and was fine. Called dealer and took back on May 8, 2015. Dealer kept Jeep over night and told me I needed a new battery. Bought a new battery through my son in laws shop cost me $122.14. The dealer charged me $90 for the test. So I am out of $212.14 as of now. Today June 13,2015 I went to start my Jeep and it would not start. Same as both times before. I know the problem is with the tipm and no test will show that there is a problem with it. Called Jeep hot line and they said there is no recall on this and no reports. To take it to the dealer and have them test it again that they could not help me with this problem because my Jeep was out of factory warranty. I only have 32989 miles on my Jeep. It only had 32627 on the second visit to dealer. I have extended warranty on the Jeep but they charge $50 if the test don't show up a problem. So I am between a rock and a hard place. Where do I go from here. I know there are a lot of reports on here about the same problem I am having. Thank you for your time.

I had the tipm fuel pump relay bypass "fix" done last fall after failing to start a number of times. It has been recalled since I had the repair done. I am now experiencing the exact same problem. It fails to start a few times each week, eventually starting after several attempts. I've taken my vehicle to a local dealership a number of times and they can't find anything wrong (no error codes). This is an intermittent starting issue and apparently difficult to diagnose. It's almost certainly related to the tipm. I continue to pay diagnostic charges since no "codes" are registering anywhere. ($150) until they get a "error code", they claim there's nothing they can do and it's not covered by my extended warranty. The internet is full of similar complaints for this make and model year. I just want my car to start and run well!
