I contacted Keffer Jeep Chrysler in Charlotte, NC when I received the recall notice. This dealer ship has a poor service department and they almost never answer calls but use the voice recorder for messages. I left two messages regarding the recall but never received a return call. Today I tried again and got the voice mail again, so called through the manager's line and finally spoke to someone in service. At first they were very helpful, but when I mentioned the recall it changed and I was informed that it would be more than two months before they could arrange to make the recall repairs (the end of November). I have encountered this before where dealers do not feel that they are properly compensated for recall work and thus try to shift off to another dealer through delays. I am now going to find another dealer, but felt that the impact of the NTSB recall safety measures is being impaired by the conduct of Keffer. The recall is very clear that this defect is dangerous and thus I have not used my Jeep Cherokee pending getting the recall addressed. Thank you for your help in curing this problem for the public at large.

As I am about to turn right my vehicle completely shuts off and I lose power steering, etc. Brakes work enough to stop thankfully, but vehicle is completely off almost causing a crash. I am able to start my 2011 Jeep GC right back up and go on with the engine light on. The light then shut off as I am driving. After reading multiple cases of this same issue it is apparent something needs done and a resolution needs issued. This is an extreme safety issue and needs addressed now before injury or death occurs. I love Jeep but I do not think I will be able to get another (after having 3+) if this does not get addressed. Get this fixed and addressed now.

In March 2021 my wife-€™s 2011Jeep Grand Cherokee was at Naples Chrysler-Jeep for a stalling problem where while driving, the car-€™s engine would stop while moving in traffic. Power steering and brakes lost power thereby making it nearly impossible to steer or stop without coasting to the side of the road. There was no warning from the vehicle that there was a problem. Once the car coasted to a stop, my wife was able to put the car in park and restart the car. This happened 4 or 5 times before taking it in for maintenance. After 2 weeks looking for a problem, they replaced a fuel pump relay in the TIPM. Again, in late July the car repeated the stall while driving 2 times. The car is currently at Naples Chrysler Jeep where techs are trying to duplicate the problem with no success. No codes came up during computer testing. We are reluctant to drive the vehicle if the technicians can-€™t locate and fix the problem before returning the car to us. Because of the sudden nature of the stall, we fear we could crash causing serious injury or death.

I had repeated engine stalling issues, usually when accelerating, but other times just randomly. The problem is usually momentary, the engine starts running again in seconds. It is also infrequent, only once or twice a month for a vehicle being driven daily. This has caused some very near misses when the vehicle behind me doesn't notice my sudden deceleration (there are no brake lights) and almost rear ends me. Fortunately I have not had any accidents. This was a problem on my 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee VIN 1J8HR58T99C520366. A bad crankshaft position sensor wire in the harness was finally found and replaced which fixed the problem. The problem is very hard for the repair shop to verify, they won't take the vehicle out on the road and drive it long enough so it is hard to even convince them it is a real problem. The shops often attribute it to a bad fuel pump relay, a well known problem with recalls. The replacement relays have very limited availability. I have had to drive on a suspected bad relay for months before recall parts are available. I don't think the relay is the only defect which causes the problem. About 6 weeks ago my 2011 started exhibiting the problem again, but this time with more frequency and more dramatic engine out episodes. The dealer attributed it to the fuel pump relay, which they didn't have, then to a timing sensor (crankshaft I think) then to various other problems including corroded ECM connector pins which were replaced but didn't fix the problem. After 4 weeks in the shop they finally found a bad wire (which connects the suspect timing sensor) inside a wiring harness. The wire was replaced and the problem went away. That is one of the problems that was discovered on my 2009 model! That coincidence can't be explained as a random failures, there has to be a wiring harness issue.

We had the latest recall repair completed for stalling while driving, it was a fuel pump relay I believe. I think we had it repaired in February/March. However this morning while driving to work our jeep stalled while slowing down to turn, the battery stayed on but the engine completely stalled & the power steering went out almost causing us to drive off the road. Luckily the brakes still worked but we had a semi behind us that nearly missed us as it also turned onto the same road.

Vehicle's engine stalls unexpectedly while driving. The car was bought in 2018 and the engine stalled for the first time in February 2019. The engine stalled again in June 2020 and twice in February 2021. The engine stalls while driving usually while making a right turn. I was in danger because the car suddenly went dead with cars behind me. I could have easily been rear-ended in all of those instances. Recall was performed, but engine stalled again about two weeks after the fuel pump relay was replaced. The engine stalling while driving causes the car to stop suddenly, and it can result in injuries, car accident, loss of life and or property damage. Lester glenn dealership is where I bought the car from and they were the ones who replaced the fuel pump relay. They had the car for two months after I brought it in when the engine stalled again after the fuel pump relay was replaced. Chrysler was contacted and they closed the case due to the dealership telling them that they cannot reciprocate the issue.

The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19V813000 (electrical system). Cold started the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited, was in park and all the dash lights came on. It appears to be another #3 misfire, all dash lights came on, & had loss of power. Engine light blinking, check oil, low battery light, service the 4X4, and wipers all came on at once, remained on. I had the same issue in summer of 2019, then it was a #3 misfire. This time, again, the code was a #3 misfire! the summer of 2019 I had the garage replace the faulty 3 coil packs along with a new alternator which was damaged because of the bad coil packs, which fixed the issue for approximately 1 and 1/2 years. Then the issue resurfaced on christmas 2020, same problem.

Vehicle stalled while driving in highway traffic at about 40 mph. Lost ability to steer as power steering quit working. There is a year-old recall to fix fuel pump relay problems but fca, the manufacturer, has yet to provide dealers with the parts needed to fix this problem. This is totally unacceptable as we have continued to drive this vehicle since we do not have, nor can we afford, another vehicle. Please pressure fca/Jeep to provide parts to dealers immediately. Recall # V62/NHTSA 19V-813.
