My ignition coils and spark plugs keep misfiring. More then normal. Ever since the recall where the replaced half of my engine I can't seem to keep them for long and it's getting costly.

My car sometimes it doesn't start and keeps cranking. But the most dangerous is when it shuts off while driving. I took it to Jeep service but they didn't find what causes the issues. It keeps stalling. Doesn't happen every day and all the time but it's happening more frequently.

Grand Cherokee

  • 65,000 miles
Vehicle stalled while driving in highway traffic at about 40 mph. Lost ability to steer as power steering quit working. There is a year-old recall to fix fuel pump relay problems but fca, the manufacturer, has yet to provide dealers with the parts needed to fix this problem. This is totally unacceptable as we have continued to drive this vehicle since we do not have, nor can we afford, another vehicle. Please pressure fca/Jeep to provide parts to dealers immediately. Recall # V62/NHTSA 19V-813.

Grand Cherokee

  • 79,000 miles
Only 79,000 miles and dealership states I need to replace camshaft and lifters. Repair costs more than vehicle is worth. All maintenance and oil changes were done. Searching online reveals how common this problem, the manufacturers defects and the fact that fca will not admit or assist owners. No properly maintained engine should fail at 79,000 miles.

Engine on 2016 Hyundai tuscon with 143K miles burning oil expeditiously almost to the point of seizing. Lost 3-4 Q of oil in 1,000 miles with no check engine or check oil light notification. Engine is now being replaced at the owners expense. Could create a dangerous situation of sieved while in operation.

Grand Cherokee

  • 149,000 miles
Twice on two separate occasions, when going about 25 miles an hour on a town road and breaking and turning to the right (one time was more right than the other), my car loses power out of no where. My engine shuts off, I lose power steering, and I lose my break assist. It is very scary and dangerous and could cause a life threatening accident. I crossed over into the opposite lane of traffic with little to no control. Fortunately both times no one was near me and I was able to come to a stop. I can then restart the car and drive away. I dont know how to replicate the issue. I have seen other reports of this same problem with other Grand Cherokee on the internet. I dont know if the current recall that I need is supposed to address it or not but I plan on calling my dealer about it asap. My car is about 149K miles. I think the lights stay on when this happens.

Grand Cherokee

  • 127,000 miles
The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle in his driveway from a short distance, there was a electrical burning odor coming from the vehicle along with smoke. The contact then discovered that the coolant overflowed to the alternator without warning. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer (vision automotive group located at 920 panorama trail S, rochester, NY 14625) where it was diagnosed that the PCM failed causing the coolant to overheat and replaced the alternator, the drain tube and the battery. The vehicle was repaired. The contact was explained that the engineering of the drain tube for the coolant overflow tank was designed to be directly above the alternator and if the coolant overflows it would come in contact with the electric alternator causing a possible fire. The contact was concerned that if he would have drove a long distance his vehicle would have engulfed in flames. The manufacturer had been informed of failure and suggested the contact call NHTSA and get a service manual. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.

I am just writing to complain that 8 months after recall 19V-813 was released there is still no fix. My wife's car randomly stalls on her and it's not safe. We know have our first child due in September and she's terrified to have to drive her anywhere as her Jeep is her only means of transportation.

My vehicle has randomly turned off on me twice during moderate to heavy braking. The first time was on 8/20/2019 and the second time was on 12/3/2019. I believe my issue is related to recall V62 and I am voicing my displeasure in the amount of time it is taking Fiat Chrysler to design a remedy. This recall is actually recalling a prior recall, so I would scrutinize the engineering team that they can actually come up with a sufficient remedy, but I suppose that's not my point. My point is my vehicle and over 500,000 additional vehicles are on the road with a problem that is extremely hazardous with no eta in sight. (recall related incident)

  • 116,000 miles
My Jeep has stalled at least 5 times with the power steering failing. 1) once while at an intersection turning left on a green arrow no steering. 2) traveling about 45 mph and stalled again and no steering. 3) twice going from 55 mph up to a stop sign and the car stalled again no steering. 4) just last Friday, I was driving 55 mph and slowing to make a left turn and again stalled and no power steering. This is getting serious and happens unexpectedly which makes driving dangerous. The stalling is happening more frequently now. I've contacted Jeep and they say a recall has been issued but no fix has taken place and is to be determined with no idea when. The recall was issued late last year. So how long does it take to fix a relay issue? this has gone on far to long and getting scary. Please help me and get some kind of answer from Jeep. Sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
