The car alarm continues to go off on its own. I have already had a software update for multiple problems with the radio, phone pairing, etc. Have tried to set the alarm remotely by phone, by locking vehicle from inside the vehicle and also by touching button on door handle. No matter how I lock the vehicle the same thing continues to happen with the alarm going off.

Check engine light came on. After shutting vehicle down for a couple hrs check engine light was off but horn would randomly go off every 15mins. I had to pull the fuse to stop it. I then noticed the dash was staying on and flickering when the vehicle was shut off. 2days later battery was dead. So far Chrysler has authorized a flash on the instrument cluster board which did not work. The part needed is on back order and wont be available for a month. They refuse to give out an acceptable loaner and told me I can take my chances and drive my vehicle.

I am currently leasing a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee - the lease started in May 2013. Since driving the car off the lot I have had constant problems with the radio/navigation/bluetooth and back-up camera - none of them work 90% of the time. The car often wont turn off even after turning it off (ie radio wont go off headlights wont turn off). I have taken the car in twice for repairs and the problems are no better. I have 2 other friends with the exact same car and the exact same problems.

Bottom line: Battery was sitting in a pool of water 4 inches away from the neg/pos battery terminal. Potential electrical fire " a newly acquired 2014 Jeep Laredo with less than 1000 driven miles from the date of delivery. We were hearing a water sloshing sound that was profound upon starting from a dead stop and then coming to a stop sign. Once the vehicle was stopped fluid was heard sloshing around similar to a cooler of ice water. After doing an internet search there were similar problems found with this vehicle in the past. Since this was a brand new vehicle, I took it to the dealer as I wanted to know if this was safe to drive. The service dealer of course said he never heard of this and that I would have to make an appointment. "I will not leave until someone either drives this car or looks at it and say it is safe". the counter guy was annoyed at my request and he went and got his chief service manager. To my surprise the service manager said to me as he was walking from across the service bay that he knew exactly what the problem was. We walked to the vehicle and he opened the passenger door and moved the passenger seat all the way forward. Then he opened the rear passenger side door, took out the floor mats and opened the battery compartment that is located "inside" the vehicle under the passenger seat. There was water pooled around the battery and 4 inches from reaching the + and - terminals. The service manager went under the vehicle and removed the plastic plug the size of a quarter. Water gushed out of the drain plug for at least 5 min then it turned into a trickle. The service manager schedule the vehicle to be fixed by a company that deals with water leaks. My complaint is that this posed an potential disaster from an electrical short caused by water pooling. Now is there going to be a mold problem in the future"

January 13, 2013 Chrysler group llc. Customer center P.O. Box 21-8004 auburn hills, mi 48321 re: Case# [xxx] to whom it may concern; below, you will find a brief synopsis of my previous and current issues with my new 2014 grand Jeep Cherokee; upon immediately receiving my 2014 Jeep Cherokee, I noticed that my vehicle did not drive smoothly and I had to push hard on the accelerator pedal because my rpms and mph dropped very fast and I was in traffic. After my Cherokee loss power and I began to drift, and after coming to a complete stop, I started my SUV up again and I had no instrument panel. Everything was black. The performance of the vehicle deteriorated to a point where a problem was evident. Frequently, not all the time, the vehicle was very sluggish to accelerate and occasionally not responding to the gas pedal, for approximately five-ten seconds as the RPM's went down. It felt as the though, I was forcing the gas by pressing on the accelerator pedal hard. It appear that the gas was blocked from flowing because I had to press very hard to get some gas to my SUV or the vehicle was stuck in a low gear and not up-shifting. My SUV only have 893 miles on it. I called the dealer sport durst and they informed me to call Chrysler to report the issue. They were very rude especially [xxx] the general manager. Under the North Carolina law, I am requesting a knew 2014 Jeep Cherokee with the same options and or refund of my downpayment. I just would like to add that the dealership that I purchased my vehicle from are very rude and unprofessional towards their black customers and I will never purchase another vehicle nor will I ever have my vehicle serviced by that dealership. I look forward to working with you to resolve this issue asap! cc: Nc attorney general Consumer Affairs office information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Vehicles "cluster" memory failed causing wipers to malfunction and radio to lose memory. Vehicle occasionally does not recognize keyfob and will set off panic alarm and/or will not detect keyfob, displaying warning which states keyfob has left the vehicle. Dealership has tried "flashing" the memory but problem persists and going back in for service 1-3-14. Upon reading other forums I have found this is a common issue with other Grand Cherokee.

Every indicator on my dash was on and my speedometer didn't work. Brought it into [xxx] where the problem was not fixed. It was in the shop again 2 weeks later for the same issue and also to service the ABS system. Today my check engine light is on and the car is shifting hard and hesitating, clunking as it switches gears. I was driving on the highway about 65 mph. The wipers came on and the radio stopped. This happened on three other occasions. Upon exiting the freeway and utilizing the brakes, the entire vehicle electronics flashed then the vehicle lost all power and stalled into blackness. I was able to safely stop the vehicle and restart.

Shortly after starting vehicle and driving at approx 10 mph, check engine light came on. 30 seconds later check engine light started flashing and misfire was felt, car began to shudder. I pulled over, turned off and restarted, again flashing check engine light and shuddering. Vehicle was towed to dealer, who also felt misfire on cold start next am and codes confirmed misfires in multiple cylinders. Dealer inspected engine but found no issues. Next day, car operated normally. Approximately 1-2 weeks later, on starting vehicle entire instrument cluster lit up, with check air bag warning and lights indicated ABS failure and ecs off. Car drove, but I subsequently realized speedometer did not work, it was very frightening to drive on highway without knowing my speed. After restarting check engine light remained on, but vehicle functioned normally. Was going to bring back to dealer, but check engine light went off after about 6 drives. These issues are very worrisome and I feel uncomfortable every time I start the ignition.

Continuously exhibiting persistent progressively worsening life-threatening transmission and electrical failures. Transmission sticks in low gear and will not upshift, transmission stalls, push gas pedal to the floor and nothing happens, almost hit numerous times, gears jerk, rpms rev up and speed increases when applying brakes, will not slow down then bounces to a stop, interior lights short out, doors do not lock, electronic chirping sound from engine even when off, touchscreen/radio/climate controls do not work, total of 45 different defects, continuous since day purchased, sent 2 written notices to Chrysler, has been 8 months and no one will help, increasingly fearful for safety. Total of 43 days in shop and 14 attempts to repair same serious safety defects and conditions.

Purchased a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Oct 27, 2013 and discovered the forward collision system (fcw) is not working, the dealer attempted to fix but failed. They gave me another 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Nov 2, 2013, I realized it has the same exact defect, and again, the dealer tried to fix but failed to do so. Two brand new vehicles have the same exact problem, the vehicle VIN numbers: 1C4rjxxxxxx and 1C4rjfcxxxxx I spoke with manufacturer and they tried to convince me that "system available" means "system is on" which directly contradicts the manual provided by them. That in addition to the system not working at all. Spoke with other Jeep owners that have that function, they also indicated that they having trouble getting that to work and they having trouble getting support from Jeep. Updated 11/19/13

The driver pulled the automobile into a driveway on a downhill slope. The driver shut the vehicle off using the push button start/stop. The driver returned to the vehicle 10 minutes later, with a passenger in the front seat. The driver started the vehicle (foot on brake as required) using push button start/stop. The driver engaged the transmission into reverse using the shifting lever (with foot still on brake as is required by the brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) system). When engaged in reverse, the engine revved to a high level, and the car traveled in reverse up the hill (driveway), through the street, and into a ditch. Side and front airbags deployed. Driver believes they never took foot off the brake, and the braking was not sufficient to overcome torque of the engine/transmission. Vehicle damage includes air bag deployment, cabin roof liner detachment, three bent wheels, minor damage to muffler, minor body damage. Dealer checked electronics/instrument recordings and noted nothing unusual appearing, and had no knowledge of similar problems.

Main lcd screen that shows the speed of the vehicle goes black at random when I am driving and the only way to get it to come back on is to stop and turn off the vehicle and turn it back on. I was stopped by a police officer for speeding because I could not tell how fast I was going. I told him about the display and he was going to tow the vehicle because I did not have an operational speedometer. I have told Chrysler about this and apparently it is a known issue and they are working on it!! these vehicles' should all be taken to the dealers and parked and not driven until the defect has been corrected and customers should be given rental cars.
